This battlereport makes me remember the days when this site was one where people put alot of effort into each work of art instead of posting "TEST" reports and shit like that. Not just pretty pictures and clever sayings, CB has just revolutionized how battle reports will be written with his incredible maps, resource bars at various nodes, and (as always) slick writing style. I've read a LOT of reports here, and I honestly believe that this is the best one I've ever seen. A perfectly reported battle. |

Seriously though, i really liked the style. Especially the little bars below the exps that showed how effeciently that specific exp was being mined. Although pictures would have helped ... i always have a tough time imagining what is going on unless there are pics. That's why it doesn't deserve a 10 imo. Although this is probably one of the best, and most original test only reports i've ever read.

| CB wrote a report titled "2v2 on River Siege" i believe. It was some pretty funny stuff, and I think most ppl thought it was a real report, until CB pointed out that it was a April Fools joke. Of course that was before BR.com's time, but he posted it here so more ppl would read it. |

I did overdramatize the dialogue so it would match my narrative flow; after the Heinz moment, no player in his right mind would take the time to talk so much. Abbrevations were lengthened and complete sentences were formed. Here's some of the actual transcript:

| Really cool report. Protoss probably could have ended the offensive wall-off and the game by going templar archives and getting storm. And why didnt terran use cloak and go arbiter hunting? I didnt see any mention of observers in the report. Well, it goes without saying that both guys were playing extremly stragely(that is if they are real, and CB seems to be saying they are). This report was neat.
I liked the way you used the map to show the movements of the troops, and you detailed the swings of the great pendulum of war well (I especially liked the way you recorded the talk between Frick and Frack). A spot of sibling rivalry always makes a good report.
As for the strategy of the brothers, I think Frick deserved to have won. I admit that Frick walling-in Frack's choke point was a neat idea, and he pulled it off well, ending the life of many a zealot. However, most of those zealots WERE diversionary, as you can see in the report, and Frack and his Arbiters were totally E-V-I-L, and it was totally G-E-N-I-U-S!!!!!!!!!!!!
I never realised that recall was so cool.
All in all, Frack pulled his win off well and he totally deserved the win.
Well done Cattlebruiser! I give you a 9.5!

| No friggin way this game was real. It was way too good. It was a damn good report though. I gotta say that the only reason this report was incredible was because of the game. Goes to show you that you have to have a great game for a great report(World War 3 among others). CB is the master of weird ass strats, like in the April Fools report with the hallucinated scourges[hallucinated something...]. Ah well, it was a great read and very entertaining. |

Actually, I didn't think the players were "way too good"... Frick had just recently moved up from Vanilla and his lack of experience shows in his hesitancy, lack of good scouting, disuse of wraith cloaking, and slow tech climbing. Frack was the much more refined player, although he too was a bit indecisive in choosing a strategy. He shouldn't have let that turret wall go up, and could have killed Frick's undefended main early on. I think he ultimately went zealots/arbiter because he knew he was a better player than Frick. Plus, it's always fun to rub it in on a sibling that he lost to something oddball like this rather than straight mass corsairs or something. The main advantage going into the game that Frick had was knowing the map, even if he didn't know the exact name.
Also, the turret wall, for clarification, wasn't an ultra-newbie turret every adjacent square...there were usually 4-5 squares of open space between each one. Close enough to deal damage and sound the alarm, but not so close to be claustrophobic.

| The maps never worked out because Zerg got the short end of the deal. I had the initial bases disappear off the map for 10 seconds to allow everyone a countdown timer, but when the hatcheries reappeared, they only had 1 larvae. Definitely not good for competition games. |
