Well, here is this heavy metal build fom what I tried to
back engineer for those who would like a good build order.
stage 1: Wallin
--a. depot
--b. rax
--c. depot
stage 2: tech choice
--a. gas
--b. build just 4 marines
--c. 2 factories
-----1. one factory gets an immediate add-on and trains mines
--d. 4 vultures
--e. add-on to 2nd factory
--f. train seige mode
--g. 2 vultures
--h. 2 tanks
stage 3: offensive (6 minute mark - fastest setting)
--a. mine your choke, bait any goons in if u can for damage.
--b. move out with 4 marines, 6 vultures, 2 tanks.
--c. mine his choke if u can.
--d. seige mode done, so seige up 2 tanks.
stage 4: the kill
--a. add 3rd factory w/add-on.
--b. can add academy at your leisure (so THIS is why HC hates 'em!)
--c. expand to natural since you are so damn safe!
--d. make vultures/tanks as gas allows.
--e. at 12 vultures/12 tanks or so, attack!

and u can delay tanks and vuls pretty easy with goons forcing them to lay mines unseige and reseige.
Goin for the robo tech aint bad either lets u see those mines
i doubt that [soul]-deceiver guy was 1700+ btw :O |

| Well, AQD3's reports were longer, they have nice formatting to them, and it had a definite "flavor" or "attitude" to it. This was just kinda a bland set of reports, nothing really sets it apart. It's basically worthy of an average rating, which imho is a 5. |

I'm really confused...
1 zealot and 8 goons.
vs
6 vultures, 2 non-sieging tanks, 4 marines.
You lose all of your stuff and only kill 4 vultures?
Did you not get dragoon range, or did you suicide into his minefield or something? Remember that Hold Position is your friend. Even if he doesn't have vultures you want to hold position your guys so they don't go charging suicidally forwards if hit by siege tank fire. Also if he's doing the suicide vulture mine thing then spread your goons a little apart so he can't get lucky and plow 5 with one mine...
Remember you can retreat your units to meet up with reinforcements if you're getting worked.

| yea u should have spaced them out...if u had sent just 1 drag to suicide all my mines were dead...or atleast like 10 of em were..btw that strat isnt very hard and i dunno why u call it gosu, we all know that mass sci vessel owns all ^_^ |

Looking back on my hypercam of the battle:
I had 2 zlots and 4 goons at his choke, with 2 more
goons on the way, when the attack started. I wasn't
watching and he lured the 2 zlots into a minefield,
killing both. A third mine was also triggered and chased
my goons before I could react, so they took damage.
Then he came in with some vultures, focusing on the
weakest one and killing it. I had 3 goons there with the
other two on the way when he brings up his 2 tanks and
marines while i focus fire on the vultures. I ran my
last goon back to meet the other two at my choke. |
