This report was very good
It was easy to follow and the game was definetly NOT one sided
You should have put in some pictures and html though

I really liked it. It wasn't fan fic, it was an actual battle report. Just because the author likes gettin DOWN with details and metaphors doesn't mean the report is bad, it just means that you have to attend to the narrative. No pics? That's no problem, just attend to the damn narrative! The game had a lot of action, great battles, and decent strategy, isn't that what we're looking for in reports? (okay okay, zealot-rush-offensive-cannon isn't the most elaborate strategy, but he broke out of it, dinna he?)
All y'all that scanned through it, saw no pics, and commented "gay" should go through and read it again, the author did a pretty damn good job.

Damn I enjoy these reports - They remind moi of the old days of HardDrive99 and Dev's text only reports. I don't really love these reports, but I just enjoy them so damned much. Now - a question for you critics. EXPLAIN to me very clearly what is wrong with these reports, they have some of the best narrative writing this site has ever seen.

i posted this last night but BR.com was all screwy in a parallel universe. I liked the imagery of the reports, but in a couple sections your style got in the way of your voice, you inverted your sentances. Two zealots there were, that kind of inversion.

I really liked the battle report. Despite to what some of them say, the BR is great.
You don't always need pix to do the BR. I love good non-text BRs because they tend to be descripitive, and allows me to imagine what is going on in there. |

| The writing was great. Good job. Suggestion: I realize that you do text-only reports very well, but when you play a game, you should periodically take screenshots. That would silence the "no screenshots = suck" critics, and would elevate your BRs to 9+ status from the current ~8. |

Nice job. Good description of the battle. I was able to figure out what was going on with no problem. Language was a little flowery but not overbearing.
Personally, a quality text report is fine by me any day of the week.

At any rate, great BR. I like the writing. You're my favourite txt only/fan fic author that posts with any regularity. And I say fan fic, because your BR's read like fanfic to some degree. The language, as Dref said, is a little flowery, but still great. Read Moby Dick, its written with great descriptions, but not a whole lot of big words...

Good report, for those who are a bit educated...and for those who dont mind text only descriptive reports. i dont mind the no pictures idea, but sometimes bloody pictures of storm are just really cool ^^
keep up the good work, and most of the critics just are disappointed that u can write good descriptive writing while they cant because they rely on total crap lame attempts at humor (sorry bane =] actually ur reports are good at describing ^^)

Very descriptive, easy to follow, and great writing in general. But 1 or 2 pictures of important battles, or other interesting things would raise the rating from 8,5 to 9,5 maybe.

| Is it just me or are pics downgrading the reading level? We read books that are written the same way as this report, and we don't complain "gimme pictures dammit, this thing sucks your a shitty writer!". No, we elevate those books to bestsellers lists and like it, why not text only? IMHO, this is better than most 8 or 9 that HAVE pics. And the description? Just great, it really conveyed the game well. If he added pics to it, I'd have to give it to a 12 :) |
