I found many irrelevant screen shots that did not add much to the game itself. The quality of the pictures are quite nice, but they are irrelevant.
Besides, the description was somewhat blurred and I don't seem to be able to follow the reading as well as any other HOF'ers.
An 8 is just about right in my book.
I was gonna give a 7, but gave an extra point for the effort for the potential of the image skill. |

A lot of the pictures did clutter, and seemed irrelevant, but then Fractal_Wave also had whole collages that didnt add anything to the report, and he got a perfect ten.
I suppose its rater prefrence in the end though.

List of pictures that doesn't give me anything:
Pic on morphing pool, hatch at ramp, a pylon, 2 rax, 1 CC I don't even know where it was built, a core behind a straight line of pylons, a zerg expansion, another morphing hatch at ramp, a bunch of zergling (but that enough to impress anyone) sitting there like a duck, a lair morphed in.
and ok, this is only game one.
If you're gonna have irrelevant pix, at least dun put TOO many of them.
Also, the writing confused and puzzled me a lot too.
Firstly, the zerg went with a 7 pool followed by 2 hatch at ramp? wtf #1
The picture saying "bhelliom saving the day," and it has a marine eliminating 6 zerglings. wtf #2
Mass marine/ling combo = annoying strategy. wtf #3

Heh dun worry drawesome.... yer br deserves an 8.5-9.0... not a 10 but i think that 8 is a little harsh. Yeah yer text could use some work but the only diff. between irrelevant text and irrelevant pictures is that pictures take longer to load and look nicer. Just explain the significance of yer pics next time and watch the 9s roll in :-D That is all.

I can't believe the report recieved "only" an 8. I wish the rater had given reasons why. You know: "Your writing sucked", "Grammer sucked", or something. If rater reads this, please.....

Wow prozerran these guys are depressing aren't they? I hate people who don't read the entire comment section and then whine about raters not posting why they rated something a certain way. Anyway, I agree with you that while the pics were nice, they did not make up for the lack of text/confusing text.

someone the purpose of a br is to come as close to perfect as possible . . . and only those are rated 10's. Close-perfects are rated 9's. On second thought, I wholly agree with this rating, and Prozerran is cool as always.
Take a look at YRM's brs . . . that is what we rate tens. ;o)

I believe I owe you an apology. You were right, if I'd had the sense of scrolling up & reading a few comments I would spotted yours. My apologies, hope they're accepted.
First things first, I do not wish to challenge your 8 rating. Since you're the rater, I'd trust your judging abilities. That said, I loaded all the pictures & read the report. If I were to rate it, I think that I'll give it a 9. Almost a perfect, but lacking something.
[FLS]PROZERRAN was right. The BR was a tad confusing at some points, but otherwise, it was excellent. Personally, I enjoyed the SS's; they were many, but I enjoyed almost every single one of them.
Good job & will have an eye out for your next. BTW, my bro is dying to read your report, but he had to go to bed.. he he. Saved it for him though :o)

DrAwesome here is some suggestions to improve your BR's.
Look at Mark's recent Rook's Corner BR. Just look for the pictures he chose. Those images tell the readers a LOT that text can't. Things like sunken placements, flinking with zealots against hydras, etc... Note that he did not include any images on establishing expansions, troop counts and location, etc... which can easily be covered with words. Images are support for text in any BR, but they certainly cannot replace text. Your images are pretty, but the content in them do not tell me anything, and eventually it gets annoying.
Next time try to get someone to read the BR beforehand without any images, and see if he had any trouble following it. Any questions he raised should be covered in the text, but images could provide specifics to the situation when text cannot do a better job then pictures.
Working on grammer/wording/etc... are secondary to the content itself, unless it's too poor, which is not your case. |

Wee, I am finally back at work and had the opportunity to check this report out. First I would just like to say superb job with the imaging. Your scheme was great. The only problem was you used up way too much space on pictures of buildings morphing/warping that added significant time to the d/l. Us 56ker's have feelings too... :P
I also feel like you should work on elaborating on your text a little more. It just felt like a really large slide show with no commentary. The text seemed to be more of an afterthought and if a reader is to truly understand what is happening in a game, they need that text.
All that being said, major kudos because its obvious you put a hellacious amount of time into this report and I hope you continute to release stuff here. I'm going with an 8 here.
