Don't laugh, but I have the first series of Pokemon cards. All of them, in some binder in my drawer. Then i stopped collecting cuz i spent too much cash on em (plus, kids would stop playing me cuz i was actually GOOD at it.They were the source of my cash, cuz we would bet money or other cards.)
Now i just play Duel Monsters w my friends.

You can buy decks online. And they give you 5 decks that can be played in the "Training" area only. To play in other games, like team or free for all's, you would have to buy a deck.
The decks they give are fine, but they get old fast because you can't add or get rid of cards to make it better.

5 decks. One of each color.
Red=Goblins and direct damage magic cards. Strong in the magic catagoy, weak in creatures. Late game, these decks are dangerous.
White=Humans and angels. Lots of medium-strong creatures with some enchantments to make the cards stronger. Used to overwhelm the opponent w/ pure force.
Blue=Counterspell/wall deck. Counterspells prevent opponent from doing stuff, walls prevents attacks, you get your bigger monsters out in the meantime.
Green=Elves/woodland creatures. Weak-very strong monster cards. Mana-manipulative and creature manipulative. Giant growths and Fertile Lands.
Black= Didnt play much. Creature destruction and dark monsters. Black magic revolves around raising your dead and burying your oponents' creatures. |

I've played the game several times on card. Do you collect the actual cards?
Red - Goblin/Burn deck
Blue - Counterspell/wall deck
Green - Elf deck
Black - Raise dead deck, one of my friends has one. 4 Laquarius' Champions = OUCH
White - I prefer Soldier or Cleric decks.
There you go. I'm making an elf deck (real time), with 3 voice of the woods!!!

I only have Portal cards. No newer cards than that. I got into Magic a tad late in the game, so almost everyone i knew that played either whooped my ass in 4 turns, or just made me look like a fool.
So i switched and went to pokemon. >D Thats where i was good and stuff.
Magic online is good cuz i bought one deck and i have a decent chance of actually beating someone. Whats ur friends name on it, maybe we can play sometime? |

Well, compare the abilities of Portal cards (no instants, lame enchantments, weak cards overall) to the abilities of the new expansions (they have good shit) and you'll see how hard it was to even LAST more than 3 turns.
Well, I also played a kid who used a lot of spells that somehow damaged me as well as my creatures. The actual game was a looong time ago, so iIdont remember what they were.
In MTGonline though, I last a lot longer, so don't worry. :)
The deck I have is called "Inundation." Lotsa white. Clerics, knights, monks, and birdy creatures all rolled into one giant mass.

Yeah, Phantom Natuko has 2 1/1 counters, and with tap: Place a +1/+1 counter. When it's dealt damage, prevent it, and remove a 1/1 counter. Obviously its good for early def.
