Anyway, at least I read this at school...when I wasn't doing anything important. I think you just needed to not report this game. Or go into painful detail of every action and reaction as well as your own thought process. That's my favorite aspect of reporting a game I played in, what was going through my head at the time (though admittedly I generally don't think when I'm playing or anytime else for that matter).
For your next report, learn html as EE said. There are guides here on the site that are very simple and straightforward. Images are nice, but make sure you go into detail with your writing.
I agree with the 2, but the suggestion of a 3, prae? You old softy, you.
On the bright side, lots of people seem to have an interest in putting out reports now ^^. Honestly people, give it a shot, it's fun! |

Okay, pointers:
Firstly, you should *never* need filler in a report that isn't externally linked or something. If the entire report is what you're putting in the submit report box, and it gives you the error...look at it long and hard and elaborate everywhere you can. If you manage to make it under the limit for the submission thingie, either your game is too short (not the impression I got here) or you have left out details, and lots of them. For a text only, usually it's those details that people are looking for.
The opening was just build orders here, but you can do a lot more than say "this is what he did and this is what I did." For example, give us some insight into your game plan. Why did you do X? What do you know about your opponent's game style and what measures are you taking to counteract this? Heck, poke some fun at him if you want, but build orders don't really suffice. This is probably illustrated best by the fact that you had five goons three lines into the report. I'm not a toss player, and I've more or less stopped playing SC, but I'm relativley sure you don't get goons fast enough to cover in three lines, even if it's a quiet opening. And then a few lines down you've got reavers.
Next thing is you type much too informally. I don't mean that you need to write like Shakespeare or anything, but the way you present what you've written is, well, bad. I'm of the opinion that even in forums/comments sections you should utilize at least decent grammatical techniques, and that it's vital in BRs. That last one is more of a fact, actually. BRs must must *must* be written with some semblance of formality (like "I" vs "i" and starting off sentences with a capital letter) or you suffer major minus points: firstly, it looks unprofessional, and secondly, no one wants to read it. It's much harder to read "i built a nexus at 12 however it was scouted by eld. five minutes later his tanks were cleaning up." than "I built a nexus at 12, however it was scouted by Eld. Five minutes later, his tanks were cleaning up." and you don't want to make your report hard to read; that's counterproductive.
Colloquialisms are okay to a point, but using stuff like "sux" and using 1337 sp33k isn't okay. I'd stick with unit name abbreviations; at the most "mins" instead of minerals, I think. X instead of cs or ks is a no-no in my book, unless you're mocking someone. Feel free to mock people however you want :)
HTML would help, before we even get into pics. Throw a <b>..</b> around section headers and enclose paragraphs in <p>..</p> tags. Even if that's it, you've just made your report about five times as organized, which will make readers happy. And before anyone gets on me for two period ellipses, I've been using Maple a bit much recently ;o
And finally, you said "btw. thats filler, cuz the game sucked. hard. balls." Why report it then? Your goal as a reporter is to entertain, and most everyone loves a close game of SC, where both players fight hard until the bitter end. Pick games well; if you're unable to play/obs these games for whatever reason, turn to reps. There's plenty of good replays out there, featuring games that I'm sure people would love to have reported.
BTW, MS paint suffices for pics...flashy stuff is distracting anyway. Photoshop isn't needed :)

I have to agree with everyone else. The report was appalling. Waste of 2 minutes (not the comments). Though DD; using MS Paint for pics is alot worse than using an average program as crappy pics are way more distracting than flashy pics.

shift-cmd-3 takes screenshots on your mac - i actually prefer the regular OS .pict screenshots because you can just open them up and crop them as you want (they're in your HD)
as for a picture editing program, go download picture play at www.downloads.com. it's only a 30 day free trial, but i've managed to keep it for over 6 months because there are nifty ways around it :P all you can do with it is add text/crop pictures and some minimal effects, but trust me, it's a hell of a lot better than paint. |

Hey props to anyone who gave constructive criticism rather than saying "Ugh this report sucks you wasted my time bye."
Now that I've read it, I actually think it deserves higher than a 2. Maybe a 3 or 4. It seems like there is a gap below a "5" rating - that anything lower will just go straight to a 1 or 2.
My first request would be that you put one line of blank space in between each paragraph(like I am in this comment). Also, don't use internet slang, like "sux." At the very least, say "sucks," although avoid that if you can(and I'm sure you can, unless you are actually talking about "drawing in fluids and other materials by estalbishing a partial vacuum").
Anyways, this was spam(spam would be filling a report with "XXXXXXXXXX" and stuff), so at least it was a real attempt. At this point you are ahead of me in battlereporting - I haven't even released one yet.
Make more, spend more time on them, and they will be good. |

What OS do you use? If OS 9 or below, find a program called FuturePaint. If OS X, find Pixen. Both are free, a little complicated to use at first, and rock hard. Not photoshop, but what the heck. |
