Map: Theatre of War
When: Friday, June 18 approximately 1:00am EST
Teams and start locations:

Each team surveyed their situation and started to build accordingly. Whoop started the game in a fashion that left little doubt as to what type of game this was going to be. Whoop’s scouting overlord quickly spotted Sydane’ protoss presence to his immediate left and had a 7-pool zergling rush ready for him. The travel time between Sydane and Whoop was minimal allowing Whoop to catch Sydane before he had his 2nd pylon warped. Whoop ran his little pups in and went for Sydane’s only pylon. Sydane had just one Zealot to go with his slaving probes. The little zerglings ignored all else in order to cut off the power to both of Sydane’s gateways. Sydane’s zealots and probes fought hard to save the pylon but were unable to stop it from falling. Whoops zergling attack force fell immediately after they waxed the pylon. However, they succeeded in setting Sydane back in supply as well as production.
Whoop morphed a second hatch and a colony. Sparc went with a depot, 2-rax, depot opening as did his ally Known.Bug. Sydane recovered from his lost pylon and continued his 2 gate opening ensuring that he had double pylon coverage on his gates. Johnny Vegas also went with a depot, 2-rax, depot build and then a refinery. CMD.Jones went with depot, rax, refinery, streaking to factory units no doubt.
Known.Bug and Sparc quickly amassed a few marines and sent them off to spill some blood. The combined forces attacked Johnny. Johnny had a few marines and a bunker, but the opposing forces steered clear of the bunker. Johnny was forced to use his SCVs to defeat the attack. Now Johnny was also behind in resource gathering.

Sydane sent over 2 zeals to help cover Johnny. Sparc and Bug moved in with their second wave of bloodthirsty marines. The zealots engaged the marine army but proved to be a few zealots short of victory. Sparc and Bug once again interrupted mining operations in Johnny’s main as well as demolished his refinery. Johnny’s SCVs prove to be very stout by yet again turning away the combined marine attack.

CMD. Jones sent over an SCV and 4 marines to Johnny to provide support in the form of a loaded bunker. Sydane sent another 3 zealots to Johnny in an effort to keep him in the battle.

Sparc and Bug continue to crank out units as Bug was able to add bats and medics into the mix. Sparc had added a third Rax while Bug was up to his fourth. Whoop is now fully recovered from his early sacrificial zergling rush and has 3 hatches pumping more of the little dogs out. Sparc, Bug, and Whoop change it up a bit with Sparc hitting Johnny again while Bug and Whoop head towards Sydane. Sydane has his forces split between his base and Johnny’s and has a few zeals caught in between. Sparc sneaks around to Johnny’s gas but encounters a few of Sydane’s rampaging zeals on the way.

The Zeals were no match for the 10+ marines as they focused their fire until they dispatched all three psi-blade warriors. Whoop and Bug press into Sydane’s base after eliminating the token zealots that were caught in no man’s land. Bug’s medics are frantically healing firebats and marines as well as the dogs of war as they rip into Sydane’s base. Sydane sent out the distress signal to his allies. Sydane’s cannons fall as he is also forced to attack with his workers again. Sparc is now focusing on Johnny’s CC after having destroyed his refinery a second time. Johnny must stop all resource gathering for the third time to fight off Sparc’s determined marines. Johnny has to pick up his CC and Barracks and float away.

Bug and Whoop are putting the finishes touches on Sydane as more zergling, bats and medics arrive. CMD.Jones tried to send help in the form of a couple of tanks but they proved futile to the combined forces of Whoop and Bug. CMD.Jones was now producing units from 3 factories.
Sydane, realising his fate was sealed, conceded defeat. Johnny floated away looking for a place to try and rebuild. CMD. Jones prepared for the inevitable 3on1 attack that was on the way. Sparc had a massive force of marines with a few medics. Whoop continued to produce war dogs, but had teched to spitters and Liar just in case. Bug produced a more even mixture of Marines and Medics and floated a CC to expand to low ground. The forces rallied out side of CMD.Jones base preparing for the final onslaught. CMD.Jones had one bunker with Marines. His army was comprised mainly of goliaths and tanks. He had a staggered set up of seige tanks with Goliaths out in front of his base that were unfortunate enough to be left where the enemies wantred to rally their troops. The trio of trounce cleared the rally area and coordinated the ranks, stimmed up, and headed in with the dogs leading the way.

The goliaths CMD.Jones had in his main were no match for the melee and ranged attackers supported by the healing hunnies. (johhny so graciously pointed this out)The trio of forces plowed through CDM.Jones’ main like a hot knife through butter. CMD.Jones attempted to float off the main land as the marines focussed their attention on his fleeing CC. It exploded in a blaze above their heads indicating the end of yet another foe.

What about Johnny? Johnny appeared to float to low ground, so Whoop began whisking hydras to the lower ground having taken advantage of the ventral sac upgrade at his lair. Sparc picked up his Raxes, in order to produce infantry in the lower lying areas. Bug started scouting the low land with SCVs and continued scouting the high terrain with his infantry units. Johnny was building feverishly to try and secure his base. Johnny quickly filled two bunkers attempting to fortify his choke before he was discovered. Bug finally found Johnny, still on high ground. Bug’s infantry supported by medics begin attacking the bunkers as Whoop and Sparc joined to impress their will upon Johnny’s base.
GGs exchanged all around as this festival of rush drew to a close. This violent, fast paced war lasted all of 20 minutes.
Other exchanges and things that I am uncertain about:
At one point early in the game Johnny send a few marines and an SCV towards Sydane. Probably in an effort to give him a bunker. It was intercepted by Whoop’s zerglings. (I think)
CMD.Jones had quite a few goliaths at some point. I never saw him lose them but I know they weren’t there during the final push through his base. I think they were sent out to assist one of his allies and dies to Whoop’s zerglings. (again I think)
Whoop’s opening may have been a 6-pool. By the time I realized the early zergling attack was happening, I looked at Whoop’s base and he had 6 drones mining, a pool, and his hatchery and a few morphing larvae. So I don’t know if he had 7 then started a pool or if he had 6 and then replaced the 6th after he started the pool. Either way he was so close to Sydane that he caught him before he had double pylon coverage.
Observations:
Johnny said it best:

The efforts to assist Johnny were very admirable. However, Sydane and CMD.Jones focused on his choke rather than his resources. The enemy units were able to skirt around the fortified area and attack from the side. Sydane’s zealots were forced to engage the enemy away from the bunkers of Johnny and CMD.Jones.
Johnny’s refinery was not covered at all.
I don’t know how or where a counter attack could have been made but one sure was needed somehow or another. The Trio of Trounce were never attacked at their respective bases.
Known.Bug is [IceBerg].
My apologies to the participants for the extended delay in getting this report put together.
Side Note:
Observing to write a BR flat out blows. This was my first attempt at it and I just could not watch all the activity, get screen shots, and takes notes all at once. It was especially challenging to document when Sydane and Johnny were being attacked at the same time. It is impossible to watch 6 players at the same time. I did have fun trying though, but I think I will leave the observing to somebody else from now on. Not to mention the amount of time that I put into writing this battle report, sifting through 100 screen shots, and generally trying to due this hectic rush game justice. I am just not cut out to be CattleBruiser.
