Ok, I might as well start off by getting this of my chest:

The fact that you ditched comp games to be a better player is great to know. However, playing BGH is not going to help you either. While you do expand, you are still relying on that mass of cash in the bases (not making use of it is just silly). Getting used to a strat means that you'll end up trying to use it in other locations, even if you know that you won't last with it. If you wish to just play, then go ahead. If you wish to start playing well, you'll need to step away from that map.

Ok with that out of the way, this wasn't a bad report. I liked the tricks you used (recon units, making use of a flaw in your foe, and, by the sound of it, pretty good micro) and the zealot 'wave' was pretty cute. Overall not bad for a first report.

However, I do warn you; many people do NOT like BGH, and for many good reasons. I don't believe this should be deleted for it, but if I see bronze, I won't be surprised.

Oh yeh, one more thing. Reavers are NOT bad units. The single player campains can easily get you to believe that (did for me), but it's far from the truth. Just learn that reaver+upgraded shuttle= one unit (in other words, never have a reaver without a shuttle to trasport it) and that reavers SHOULD only 'move' small distances and you'll love them.

To myself: I realy need to make these comments smaller :P

8 zealots > 3 cannons... just don't attack the pylon, ATTACK THE CANNONS.

Well I certainly hope that you don't get an automatic bronze because the map was on BGH.

Like Barage said above, it's ok to play, but if you want to improve as a player it would be better to not play it because it's very easy to develop bad habits, and plus the skill level of your competition on that map is going to be far less than on other maps, even regular hunters.

But regular hunters is ok, you can play that all you want. :)

And don't worry about trying to develop a hatred for Hunters, most people hate it just because it's the most popular map, just like a lot of people hate Lost Temple now that it's the most popular map among the people in nohunters, and like a lot of people hate Protoss now that they're the most popular race (and hated Zerg back when they were most popular, etc.). I've openly admitted many times that I've always loved Hunters and hated LT since the beginning. But I play in channels like Nohunters because there are some cool people in there.

A few return comments if you don't mind (wow, I'm not the only person who's made LARGE comments here :P)

I throw out the warning about BGH because it is very easy to get lost in it. Perhaps it's because it's just about the only map played in the public sector (Ever use a filter on the public list? out of ALL of those games only about 2-4 non BGH/hunters exist at one time, many are comp games and the rest usualy Lost Temple). It's just too easy to get caught up with playing it too oftain. Once you do get used ot it....

Also, I've been assuming you didn't mention the rest of your force. When you had templar, 3 scouts, and dts you had other units right? If so, ignore this comment. However, since the game is on BGH, BGH strats should be used; you'll have a hoard of cash comming, you'll need to mass something to lose it. You weren't playing EXACTLY like it was a non mucho map, right?

A large part of micro involves looking at the situation and working to make it good for you. Whether the hoarding happened because of insane clicking, the AI, or just an unwatchful opponent, the point is that you got the enemy trapped and made him SUFFER for it. No excuse, it was a good show.

Don't hate hunters yet? Wait a few months of ONLY playing it...

oh yeh, and more times then not, going for the buildings is better then going for the pylon. This goes especialy against those people who won't leave a building powered by only one pylon (large % I'm sure). It make look tempting, but remember those things do take a while to tear down.

In the case of the pylon and cannons, the cannons had the collective HP equal to those of the pylon. Therefore, if you went for the cannons, they would go out one by one, eliminating sources of damage and thus keeping your zealots alive longer.

Oops, I didn't mean that.
#9 Mr. Merf (dial-up219.twistedpair.net)[9875]
I was thinking the pylon had HP of 600/600 instead of 600 total. My apologies=P

Hey nothing wrong with hunters OR BGH. Whats wrong with you people? Play for fun and don't think you're cool because you dont like hunters.

I just played a game on BGH and used protoss sheerly as my bitch race. I had about 150 probes mining and bringing in vespene from 7 bases. Terran was my attack force race and I was pumping BC's from 20 Starports. You may think I'm exagerating but Im not. I was getting ready to finnaly attack when one enemy gets disced and the other quits after seeing my BC fleet. The game I played before on BGH i actually LOST! #!@^!$%#^%!$!#

Well this certainly has sparked an interesting conversation about the hunters war but anyway that isn't the point of this post. I would just like to say that if you inch you're carriers into his cannons (move then shift and hold position) you will find that they outrange the cannons and so didn't actually have to use reavers. This same strat can be used to cover for a drop instead of using sairs/dweb.
Well anyway you seem like a well rounded player but I say have you're fun on BGH just like I did and then when you're ready for the real challenge come join us in nohunters land, I know I'd play with you *heh heh easy win mwahaha*. Okay that's all for now
