Nice report man! That guy sounded pretty skilled, too bad he was a filthy rotten disconnector.
What I liked most about the game, is he attacked you multiple times only getting a few shots on your assimilator and killing no probes (except for the infamous 4 vulture drop!) and then you load a shuttle with 3 units (2 being temps) and lay waste to 30+ scvs..
It's tough to be terran these days folks. |

Beautfil. That's the main reason it's so hard to defeat a good protoss as a terran....you have to cover ~every~ option. Deny reaver drops, psi raids, DT strikes, recall tricks...and then you have to start worrying about protoss macro.
Gotta love the vulture drop though.

| I realize that a lot of people would like to see pictures to help illustrate my report. I don't usually include pictures for two reasons. First, it would take me a longer time to write and I would have to find a web host for my pictures. Second, the games I usually report are ladder games. Ladder games bring out my competitive instinct and the absolute last thing on my mind in the middle of an intense battle is "I should stop casting psi storm and microing my troops to get a few screenshots" =] I hope the lack of pictures doesn't detract from peoples enjoyment of the reports too much. |

This is why everyone needs a chat bot. When someone is doing this lame stuff just boot up the chat bot and tell people whats happening. This usually takes around 10 minutes and makes you feel better. By then they usually have given up.
Also to comment on your tactics I have found that when facing heavy metal you should make early goons (around 8) as you did and contain. Just put them in the hold position and keep your eyes on them. Get observers and when he starts pushing your goons out with tanks back up a bit. Use the obsever to see when he starts to push with his tanks. Then send in your entire force of speed zeals you have been pumping to smash his push. Don't bother getting dual forge against heavy metal. You only need to upgrade attack until later when you are looking for money to spend.
Bottom line is you macro while making him push across the map and you will win. Also the early robo bay allows you to take your natural and protect it from ledgings. Also you can do early psi raids.
I have found when playing better terrans like Ahscar he will design his base in such a way to make it virtually impossible to kill him without mass carriers or web. Also psi raids are quite difficult against him. The key against a really good terran is make SURE he gets no expo beyond his natural. Then use web/goons/psi to kill him.
By the way in that game we played 2v2 you outresourced me. (Trust me this is RARE) This leads me to believe that you will quite soon be better than me (if you arent already).
Also watch out for one bad ass marine he is good. |
