Oh yes, I've noticed that you're using shadows for the layer effects. On the arrow especially something like an emboss might make it look a little nicer.

I thought this report completely rocked. Even though it was "once again" Lost Temple, the action more than made up for it. It didn't have the artistic scope of the last report, but that report had fancy pictures for an otherwise boring game, while this one was absolutely fantastic.
Man, it gets harder and harder to imagine how good people will become on battle reports in the future. Well written and well presented, with great screen shots and explanations, I think this report deserves a really high rating. Good job. |

Ok. Don't take this personally Bob. I'm not gonna compare you to anyone, i'm gonna look completely objectively at your report. The pics were well done. Well written also. But, as the trend seems to go lately, ownage game. The score says it all.
And i'm gonna say it again, since everyone's been counted off before for ownage/crappy games, i'm gonna have to count a point off my score also. Which means shit to anyone. This is a tough one. It might be a 10.0... it just might. The things it has going against it is that it's actually a tad short compared to Private Vegas or the FFAs. The game was back and forth, but Protoss and Terran did hold the advantage for the most part.
The things it has going for it... well, you're look on the black worked well here. The gif was extremely well done. (I taught him that... ask him...) Actually, it's one of the best battle gifs I've ever seen. The graphics weren't overcooked in an effort to look like mine, but they were well done. The layout was good. The story was well written.
I am going to give this report a 10.0, but don't be shocked if you get 4 10.0s and 1 9.0.
I wrote alot of reports that got 9.6-9.8 that were very similar. What do you know, maybe it will hold up. If it does, good for you.
Anyway, there are very few reports of this quality Bob, and you are right there among the top 5 writers in my book. Keep it up and you'll be an instant addition to the Hall of Fame. |

Once reports get as good as they are lately , it's hard to see any flaws but they are there. I'm an astute beleiver that a 10 is perfect. And I'm only gonna give 10's to perfect reports. I was all set to give this a 9. I was convinced it was a very good report, but the game wasn't all that great, and it broke no new ground in the battle report arena.
Then I read the comments section and people were talking about the captions, and I thought to myself, captions? what captions? I didn't see any captions? So I went back to the report and put my mouse on the pictures and saw the little boxes. That pushed it over the top Bob-the-Newt. You broke new ground, unless I missed captions on other people's reports.

I don't know if there is a dispute, but in my mind, it could be a 9.8 - 10.0. Looking back, it's kind of sad that Cattlebruiser didn't get a 10.0 on Private Vegas. It merely got a 9.9... but, it's still holding a 10 as we speak, and it is a kick ass report... who knows?
