Hehe. This was a really fun game. I started at the southwest spot, and immediately took the south starting spot with cannons and one zealot. A rush would have put me out early, but I was banking on nobody rushing. The end result was I was able to effectively start with 2 bases and ramped up upgrades/observers/the doomfleet.
From my viewpoint, Vegas and Fizban were allied, and made a strike against my south base, which I managed to fend off with ht's/and arbiters stasising and then picking off the rest. That's when I continued on and razed Vegas' bases prompting his cry. I think it was something along the lines of:
"Someone anyone PLEASE SAVE ME FROM THE GODDAMN CARRIERS!!"
After I razed Vegas' main, I left him alone.. which in retrospect was a mistake... because he and Fizban made the bunker push of doom later. I then headed along the west side of the map, taking out Annie, who thankfully had left me alone mostly, except for dropping one nuke late. Actually it was that nuke that prompted me to go after her. :)
During this time was when I saw Vegas and Fizban commence the bunker push of doom, and what Vegas coined affectionately as Dead Interceptor Alley. Well, I decided to attack it anyways with my carriers, without much luck.. but it was a diversion while I snuck in and managed to mindcontrol a SCV and whisk it away with only 16 hps left. Thusly I started my terran forces, and by the time they started pushing into my base I had 4 BC's. I started dual yamatoing bunkers, but it was way too late by that point, they had 31098139044 marines and then surgical strikes of wraiths took care of the rest. Oh and during this time I was trying (unsucessfully) to hold off Oddjob on the west central front.
But it WAS fun.. knowing they all had to team up. And then afterwards, Vegas "Oops, my finger slipped" as he started attacking Fizban, who took him out.. to which Vegas started broadcasting to the rest "the traitorous backstabbing Fizban!" That was really fun...
I made about 650 units that game.. that's a TON of units for protoss considering I only made maybe 5 zealots and 2 dragoons all game.
Anyhow maybe the others will see this and chime in their story. Basically I was just able to secure another main early, and then take the two quasi-naturals with gas in them, and just held tight to those bases and quietly built up and left other people alone. I never offered or was offered an alliance by or with anyone that game.
