| Like the new site! This report... Is ok. I got the funny feeling that we've seen it before. This BGH baloney (or bologna) is not worth the paper it is printed on (or the cyber space it takes up). BGH = lame, dont play it and if you don't report on it. I have never seen a BGH BR get a descent rating and this report is no different. This report is on the lame side of average.
As far as expanding on it, they can bring in resources faster than the person that does not expand. Of course that is only true if they invest twice as much supply in workers, but that would be optimizing and expansion and most BGH players don't know how to do that.

Even though this report was on BigGameHunters, I enjoyed the fresh perspective and good writing. I guess the choice of maps caused the 3.0 rating from someone. After all, we all hang out in a channel called NOHUNTERS.
I can't punish this guy for being a newbie and playing on a gay map... this was a good report! I gotta say a 5 or 6, given that BGH hunters kind of has to have a rating ceiling.
(yeah I'm a hypocrit... sue me)

The tram-ride home through the bleak, rainswept streets of Gothenburg (yup, that's in Sweden) will be a lot easier to bear today – YRM complemented my work! Naturally I'll choose to believe that the *only* reason for the overall low grade was the map itself (and perhaps to some extent my - for want of a better word - quality as a SC/BW player), and certainly not (heaven forfend!) my writing abilities...
But honestly; I know it was a crappy game from all sides (present company included). I just couldn't help myself reporting on it; I love the Game and to read BR's, so... Maybe I'll sniff around nohunters tonight and see who's up for letting me observe... Being on a Mac, I don't even have to ask for Pauses after 100 screen shots ;)
'Nuff said. Thanks for the straight-up feedback, gentlemen... I'll be seeing y'all...

Ohh, make no mistake: I *do* care about winning. In fact, sometimes I'm even a reeeeally sore loser (although that's not the reason I stop talking during games - my keyboard freezes, making it impossible to chat or macro...). Sadly, wanting to win has yet proved insufficient to actually winning :)
Simple truth: I just plain suck. But, as I all too often have occasion to say, "If I didn't suck so much, I'd beat the crap out of you..." ;)

Rumpelstiltskin: If you see a terran with wraiths then make corsairs (and observers) to go with your carriers. Corsairs build really quickly so don't occupy your stargate capacity for too long, and they crush wraiths.
Expanding is good because you can double your gas intake, and 20 probes at each of 2 expansions brings in minerals more quickly than 40 at one.
It also means that if someone crushes your main you still have a chance to rebuild. |
