I play in an indoor arena similar to the one Flint described. I don't know where you "exit" in your arena Flint, but if the exit is by one of the teams bases, try this strategy when you're on the other team:
If the exit is at the opposing teams base, and someone near you on your team gets shot, stand up with them. Don't raise your hands or yell, "I'm hit!". Just casually stand up and walk out with them... only don't walk quite all the way out. Get in the enemy base and start dealing out head shots from behind to the enemy front line.
I've used this cheese strat several times with success. With the goggles on, it's really hard to see who's on what team from a distance. The enemy will probably bitch about friendly fire and never even figure it out.
Another "balls out" strategy to use that leaves you open to any observant enemies is if you're out of ammo. I don't know about your arena, but mine forbids shots at less than 5 feet. You have to yell, "your dead". At that close range, you can actually put someone in a hospital with the right shot, so they try to prevent it. Anyway, if you're out of ammo, and this rule applies... wait until most of the people are dead, stand up, walk casually to the enemy position while they yell, "what are you doing?". Kill them and get the flag.
These strategies only work on people who are relatively normal. Crazy folk that shoot anything moving, or observant players will eat you up.
Anyway, good report... I hope it's true. I have some crazy stories myself where I escaped with flags and bullets hit the flag, making it swish in my hand.

Pitt: It was just something cool that happened. I doubt I could repeat that if my life depended on it. The guy was really close to me and I took the case (it was pretty fuckin big) and put it infront of his gun basically. It was obvious he was aiming at chest level. Have I had a history of lying in the past or somethin? oh wait...I don't even know you.
YRM: Man...that is some serious cheeze. There was no rule to how close you can shoot somebody. I got into closerange combat that day and was shot in the hand at like pointblank range. That <b>really</b> hurt. I came out better than most however. My legs were taken to town one game and my hands were cut from the impact of closerange paintballs...but that's about it.
My next BR will be SC and the quotes will be plenty...cuz I've just been racking them up.
If any of you live in or near Toronto, I would give 2 thumbs up to PaintBall City. Great layout and I wanna go again soon.

I'm sure cheese strats would get me killed by vets, which is why I did them sparingly. Obviously, if a ref had told me that I was violating the rules, I'd have stopped.
Usually you have to tell a person when they are violating an obscure rule before "kicking them out", especially when anyone with half a brain and a little observation can make the cheese useless. My feeling is, if they were dumb enough to fall for it, good for me. |

The only rule we had was no picking up the balls that did'nt break and putting them back into your gun. I tend to agree with that rule.

Kickass BR, Flint! I generally don't like non-SC reports, but this was great. I did put on the James Bond theme while listening to it, followed by System of a Down's "War."

Talk about sissy, all you need is a mask.
Once I shot a paintball at a tree 1 foot from my friend when we were getting ready to play to scare him, and I had no mask, and the dickhead turned around and shot me in the face. Paintballs don't taste good.
We don't play in an arena, we play in this forest type place. It has ditches and stuff.
I was playing this game there, and we found the other team, and started exchanging fire. Me and my friend decided to use a ditch to our right to flank 'em. So we walk low until we hear shots close by, and I tell him to cover my ass in case they're split-up while I take a peak over the side of the ditch. So my friend agrees, but as I'm creeping up the wall, I hear shots from behind. I drop as fast as I can (which only succedes in getting me shot in the neck rather than my back), I look back and my friend is nowhere in sight, only someone from the other team with a smug look on his face. My bastard friend left and didn't tell me, I was pissed. I ended up getting plastic from the paintball casing stuck in my neck 'cause he was so close when he shot me. We played for 10 hours with little 5-10 minute breaks in between games to drink water and stuff.
