Sweet report, your writing is superb.
One small complaint... You spent 11 paragraphs from building your first probe to killing those two drones (very intense writing in that part) but you used 2 paragraphs to describe the beatdown of his attempt to take your expansion, the breaking of his front line, and the destruction of his main base. I loved your writing, and was hoping for a good description towards the end... maybe it wasn't close? and you just walked over his base? dunno

I really appreciated this report. I myself have done only text reports so I have learned to appreciate them for the writing. Although I cannot write I can still appreciate it =]
It looks like you got a little lazy as the BR went on. Started very descriptive at 1st and it slowly went down all the way till the end. Even though it wasn't that much I did notice it. But it was still a great report. Good enough for this rating. Great writing! :D

Well now, what HASN'T been said about this report? All the words needing to be said have been said. Well, not exactly... after all, I want to put my two cents worth in tonight.
Considering the writing prowess of the author, I must choose my words carefully, lest I be considered a mindless dolt with a low IQ. I thoroughly enjoyed this report. Many of the reports I've read previously relied strongly upon color and flash, posting upwards of two dozen pictures to try making up for less than adequate writing skills. You step up to the plate "totally unarmed" - pictureless.
AMEN! Anyone see that movie, "Battlefield EARTH"? Did you read the book first? I DID! Though I have yet to see the film, most sources say that it really flopped. I must see the damned thing, just to make my own call, but I am sorry to hear that the film didn't do the book justice...
MY POINT EXACTLY! You did without film what most folks attempt to with tons of pics. Anyway, NOW I really am droning on. You used my own imagination to draw up pictures that simply don't compare. Simon and Garfunkel wrote a song about the same idea, KodaChrome, I think it was... now I really dated myself.
Lastly, I want to say that I am striving to someday write my own battle reports, once I've figured out how to get those hacks needed to see the whole map, or something like that, I dunno. I'll leave that up to the techno junkies to figure out. But seriously, I would most definitely like to try my hand at reporting, and I can only hope that my style is up to this standard.
Until we meet on the field of battle, keep yer pecker hard and your powder dry, and the world will turn, baby...

| HarvKillJoy, you don't need a hack. Just join/create a use map settings game made on a map with observer slots (PGL, i2e2), and there will be a bunch of map revealers so you can see the whole map while the players can't. OR you can just pick Terran on a regular map, ask the players to share vision with you, kill your SCVs and float your Command Center to an isolated corner. |

Again, excellent writing. Pictures here would be superfluous. Only one minor point--I agree with Inadequate, who mentions that your attention to detail is "imbalanced." Out-of-synch with pivotal moments in the game, is what he really means. I think you just have so much fun writing these things that you slap down the ideas as they flow. The hard part is then deciding what to keep (or what more to add.)

Often, when people try to enhance their reports with a narrative line, they lose sight of the game itself. I find myself wading through poorly written dialog or bland description, when I'm just trying to find out if the zerg 8 pooled or early expanded.
Your report of the game was was very clear, and your description clarified the action.

Everybody said it was a good report. I thought the writing was extravagant and got bored of the great detail. I dislike volunteery reading so the extra writing was too much for me. However, if you were writing a novel on this battle, the extra "emphasis" would have been more appropriate. I like it better with hard-facts and simple. It was good writing skills though. Well, to tell you the truth, Mark Twain is my great great great cousin or something, so don't have a writing contest with me :).
