Not too often do I see a report where the reporter is on the losing end of the stick, but hey, it's good to be revolutiounary.
I don't brag about my mad skillz, maybe it's because I don't have any. Maybe I should challenge Pillars and be on the recieveing end of a beatdown, other than me dropping skill points in BroodWar by playing D2 and fighting BGH pubbie jerkweeds.
Well written report, no screens, but it doesn't matter. Flowed pretty good from what I read.

Finally I got a 1st. I r0x, but will never ever ever do it again. |

Most of my reports include me losing and winning. But I report games in were I learn a lot of stuff, and I want to share it with the community.
Thanks for the comment DivvyO

| Nice report. That is how protoss SHOULD play zerg. Toss should put pressure on zerg from game 1. Go ahead and stop complaining about imbalance between zerg and toss. A lot of ppl made mistake of letting zerg do whatever they can. |

Damn, Fox! Great report! I actually didn't even notice that it had no pics until I finished reading it! That, I believe, is the mark of a great writer. One who can write well enough that the audience can just visualize the action. This report did not need any pictures, regardless of what today's TV-bred, mostly bookless, youth spouts out. I was rolling on the floor when I read how you microed like a one-armed gymnist and again at the parachute that opens on impact. Great word selection throughout the report.

wow...
I know how you feel, I recently got to play a few games with former ladder champ D22-soso.
Now i am by no means a good player, but I can usually hold my own and at least drag out a decent game.
Despite the fact that he hasn't really played in 2 years, he owned me.
Hard.
It was kind of discouraging, but it did teach me a lot about the game.
Do you think intimidation had anything to do with your losses? Even though you mentioned that you were feeling good about your game, was that a kind of forced confidence? Cause that happens to me from time to time and it affects my game.
Can't wait for the Tiller vs Pillars series...
that should rock.

Great Report, my feelings are similar to #20 (Haplo's), so i'll just say, pic's were not necessary for me either. My interest is in tactics and psychological influence.
It fascinates me how a players game is altered when he has a few opposing units lurking outside his field of view. I have found that a strong counter-psyc strategy to z's outside a zerg choke is to get your first few zerglings away from your base right from the start. When he comes and stand's there, you can do 3 things.
1) if his force is not enough to rip into your exp, then take your few (ie 6) zerg and bring them into the boundary of his field of vision... and take them back. Now he is not sure where they came from and a fear comes over him that maybe you are expanding like mad somewhere else. He might missjudge thinking you are too thin on units and try his hand pre-maturely on your main.
2) wait for him to try his first attack and bring them in from behind (flank).
3) Attack his force at your choke, and sacrifice a zergling hit and run on his re-enforcements comming out. This might delay their arrival or send the re-enforcements on a chase. That breaks up his units a little. If they don't arrive in time, he lost his containment. United they stand divided they fall... sounds familiar? :)
Hope I have not waisted anyone's time with these ideas.

Crazy & Hawk: Yes Z vs P is what we need to do.
Lewis: Yes he can be defeated, but how many times out of ten games can you do that?
Bane: Where's your tag? YRM work faster! :D
Everyone else: Thanks for the feeback I am glad you liked the report.

Having the chance to play against Pillars... you lucky bastard =] And I can just play Hyenna right now... heh
Seriously such reports are great... I mean reports where a BW star plays someone "normal" (although I guess you are quite a good player)
I love such BR's even when they are not as good as that one... it really rocks, Fox. I don't care that there are no graphics, graphics can't impress me anyway...
mofo, why don't you try to make a BR of your games against soso? I'm so curious... =]

this br was nice
downsides were that no pics and no fancy colors makes it less attractive

second game slightly was better ( in the end not enough details though )
a good thing Pillars beated you so gosu :p |

Cool br :) I enjoyed the strategy that you put into your game and I especially liked how you explained things.
Although you are my god I must say that Pillars could have beat you with his left hand tied behind his back (the left hand since I don't think anyone could play a decent game without thier right hand). The second game was alot better though :) I loved the way you put your micro skills "like a one armed gymnist..."

It's refreshing to read a battlereport where the author wants you to learn from the game. It was also a nice touch that you learned from the first game and applied the knowledge into the second one.
Keep writing these, foo'!

Fox, my god. How could this happen to you. You can beat anybody. You are my god. You should own pillars.
(note) Fox, you better do better next time. Pillars can't be that Godly.
Disclaimer: No harm is meant to the name of Pillars cause he would beat my newbie ass 6 ways from sunday. He must be a great player, and very confident in himself.
P.S. How many hatches did you have in your main Fox?
