"He flanked me from three directions. I circled the wagons, but these indians had plasma cannons and a really effective rain dance." - LuckyNewbie in LuckyNewbie vs Whatshisface

| #1 Sydane[2074] | | | Oops, posted it twice, sorry. | | #2 Necrosausage[2078] | | "...but i barely win, even though i still have 8000k and 3000k in my bank. "
8000k = 8000 * 1000 = 8000000
Did you really have 8000000 minerals? ;-)
well, good BR :)
| | #3 Blank[2091] | | On Lost Temple, you can siege the islands with tanks.
You see, there's a little ledge off the island where cannons CAN NOT hit, but tanks can fire back at cannons (in siege). If he actually puts cannons on that little plot of land, you can siege your tanks from the land across from it, and hit the cannons, then dropship them over and land like that. It's annoying as hell to do though. What you might want to do is get Wraiths sooner, and guard the expansions for the life of ya. In most games I've played, if a toss player manages to cannon those up, it's going to be hell in a hand basket to get them out of there.
Hope this helps
Blank | | #4 Mikalleki[2092] | | | Actually, I was thinking of plopping down a nuke from that extended ledge below the cannons. Either one though. | | #5 Serephina[2098] | | Nukes ARE an effective way of turtle cracking. Most ppl tend to target buildings directly, but the nuke's range can be extended dramaticly w/ aiming short of his cannons, and letting the splash fry his cannon line. It works - just ask JV ;-) Having a BC floating over the Ghost woks wonders: if he manages to get the observer there, he can't manualy target the Ghost[covered by BC], and attack-moving troops past it will have them engage the BC instead. Use an E-bay w/ marines if he's going MC-happy.
Normally, terrans whuold come out string in mid-game w/ a factory unit push (tanks/vults, Golies if scouts) to end the Toss' misery before the game dragged on too long. But the DT was added to BW w/ the idea of stopping the early game tank push (no terran detect). It works wonderfully; so good , in fact, that the only avenue of an early terran victory is either the CrackBat rush or simply being way better than the Toss.
GL in future games, and nice BR | | #6 TheRedBaron[2124] | | | He probally would have done better to Feedback your cruisers instead of MCing them. It would have taken away Yamato and done some nice damage. Nice BR. | | #7 Whoop[2141] | | | Dont worry about taking away his islands. If he expands to both islands early/mid game you should just go raze his main. | | #8 ShadowCrown[2162] | | | It seemed to me you would have had more luck with a comstat then yamato on the temps instead of teh cannons, especially if you dmatrixed the BC so teh cannons couldnt hurt it badly. | | #9 StimmedCorsair[2187] | | | Okay, you CAN siege islands on temple without BCs, but it's very difficult, and micro intense. First, dmatrix a sci vessel, fly in, irradiate any templar you see. EMP if they are in a tight cluster. Here's the tricky part. Sometimes a Toss will only make cannons on the edges of his islands, and not near the nexus. If this is the case, dmatrix a dropship or two and fly over the cannons, drop, kill the assilimator and nexus, and tanks from the inside can mop the cannons up. If he DOES have cannons by the nexus, it's trickier. Depending on how many he uses, if theres only one or two you can drop and kill them anyway. You can also beat cannons with wraiths, if you dmatrix one wraith, send it in a little bit in front of the others, and attack, the cannons will shoot the dmatrixed wraith. Dmatrix it again when the first one wears off. But you gotta remove any templar first of course, and make sure he doesn't shuttle any more in, a psi storm on the wraiths is a disaster. |
