Also it helps if you indent paragraphs and/or skip a line... When all you do is end the previous line slightly shorter that doesnt make a good paragraph... And spell/grammar check would be nice...

alright gentelmen, stop confusing this poor guy. I have returned from the hell that is rating replays. Frankly, this report was on the down-side of "ok" No pictures, which in the days of replays, is a MUST. I couldn't follow the game, which is also a must in the days of replays. The text hurt my eyes, i was shuffling to close the screen when i saw the report. Basically, 2 years ago this could have gotten a 6, AT MOST. However, with replays, a summary of a game must be a) as accurate as possible
b) as detailed as possible
c) containing references to what the strategies are, and how they help in the long run
d) key strategic insights
Replays can cover all summaries and details. The days of text onlys are over. Please post pics and read other br's. 3-5, 4 or 3 in probability |

Text reports are not dead. Replays are nice, but if a text report is well done, it can be much better than watching a replay, like any other br in my opinion.
Don't give up on your reports, use a programe that can do spell/grammar checks next time, and space put a one line space inbetween your paragraphs. Pictures would be really nice, and if you saved the replay you have no reason not to include pictures, unless you think you can master the art of text-onlys, which only a very small amount of people have done. |

well, HC is back, and his no text reports (if he makes any) will definitely own. take some writing advice from him. and please make more paragraphs, you went from 1, to 1, to 2. thats a total of 4 paragraphs. split between them all that makes 1 and 1/3 a paragraph per report.

If this was played only a few days ago, then this deserves a 3 (your writing isn't as bad as everybody says). If the replays were not in existence at the moment, then I'd say a 5 or 6.
Even if you don't use pictures as you don't feel confident with editing them, you can still use the replay to it's fullest.
Watch it once, after playing the game, and then write the report. Watch the replay again after reading the report yourself (or better yet, get somebody else to read it then watch the replay) to see if you missed anything.
This way, anything that was not entirely clear in your report will be made clear after editing. I plan on releasing a text-only after completion of my massive BR that I'm working on now (observed in the days of 1.07, so it's kind of old).
I suggest this method to you, myself, and also anybody who is planning on doing a text-only. There is no reason to miss a single thing out, unless it is absolutely un-necessary.

If there is one thing that I got out of this report is that you actually expanded to the two island with YOUR minerals! I couldn't believe it. You really sent troops to those islands that your resources allowed? Amazing!

Take the advice of everyone here and mine and use HTML (This is demonstrated with the tags above) At least vary SOMETHING in your report, and actually add stuff that we wan't to hear about. Just say you quickly defended your island expandtions (if you add this at all) , we can safely assume you did it with your minerals. We ain't stupid.

Dammit, I spelt expansions wrong....oh well.
Also if your going to use analogies keep it going throught the whole report instead of little bits here and there. It looks as if you have in your mind these main points and ways to make them readable but the crap in the middle looks lost, like your little probe who sacrificed itself to Red Hawk.

| I'm probably going to get loads of agressive responses for this, but I must say that people on this site are way too hostile. Either you are a master of BRs or you crawl under a car and die.
