SHUT UP, |]agomar!! J/K This was mildly humorous. I thought the references to the Overmind's daughter was the funniest. *shrug* 5! ... because I didn't really understand the humor until you explained why you wrote this at the end. Make a BR!!

The thing about the ultralisks, guardians, etc. That was just dumb. That's kinda like "WELL WHAT IF MARINES SHOT PHOTON CANNONS THAT DID 782685682356823 DAMAGE AND THEY COULDNT BE KILLED! But IF THEY DID GET KILLED, THEY WOULD SET OFF A NUCLEAR BOMB! @$&(!@&$!& *(%*)!@"

Excellent "sub-story" i guess, not a battlereport. Would have made a nice prelude to one while pictures are loading. Sometimes the white background would get in the way of the white text, had to highlight it at points :[

Other than that, not bad, but not too much effort required, though. But no horrible english mistakes, which is good :]

OK, Lizard - it says "text only" in the title - which of those two words didn't you get? ;)

Now, Strega - DON'T GO DISSING JENNA BUSH YOU #$^#&^ - AFTER HAVING TO LOOK AT CHELSEA'S UGLY BORING MUG IT'S A NICE CHANGE OF PACE TO HAVE A BIG BREASTED WILD DRUNKEN PARTY HO AS THE PRES' DAUGHTER!

Just kidding.

This *was* mildly amusing, although I think equal time should be given to the fact that Gore's side cheated as much as Bush's side - Dubya's guys were just better at it. As a Florida resident, I know what each side did, and it sure ain't pretty.

At first, I didn't get the joke either - I kept thinking, "why would the overmind downgrade its own units". I think maybe the overall joke was a little too subtle for its own good - but I liked the asides, like Cheney's MI and Zasz' anti-Christian gig.

Amen to 'equal time'. How about a Protoss Executor Albore who can't tell the truth? His socially conscious but hypocritical sidekick Joe Whinerman. Have them plot to tax away 100% of every player's crystal and gas to create idiotic social programs that don't work and never help anyone. Have them sign the Zerg "Kee-oto" accord that cuts back on .000000000001% of greenhouse gases but bankrupts Aiur in 2 days? Have them hire consultants to create lies about Zerg voter 'disenfranchisement' while at the same time they throw out legal military Zealot ballots. Don't forget to have him whine about losing recounts that even 100% Protoss voting boards couldn't lie thier way into swinging his way.

To #12:

When you open up this site if you notice to your right there are 2 list: 1 of the gold reports, the other 10 newest reports. I immediately saw Stregas name so assumed it was a BR, thus I clicked and saw it was not. I'm not the type to click on 'View Reports' just to see if their are new reports. Use logic, Zed.

Sigh.

Liz, 2 things. First, the old saw about assuming still holds true.

Also, logically thinking, there are other posts besides battlereports - for example fanfic and the occasional to-be-deleted-junk post. Using logic, I would conclude that it's faster to go to the view page anyway, than click through each of the most recent 10 posts that you haven't read and have to click back again each time. Using logic, of course.

Oh yeah, and Supercod - ALL politicians are evil evil people. If they weren't they wouldn't actually WANT to run for office, they'd be forced into public service :).

Amen Syndrome. However, if we are stuck with politicians I'd rather have more of my money in my pocket and no huge government programs siphoning away money and yielding no return. However, neither Rep NOR Dems are really for that since it would mean they would lose all thier power. All I was doing was responding to humor with humor Supercod. Sorry if it hit a little too close to home...
#21 LizardKudzu[98286]

How is clicking on the view reports button, then clicking on the report faster then clicking directly on the report from the main page? And logically thinking, when has Strega EVER done a text only story before?

Its not like i come to site, see a new br made by him and automatically think "hey what a minute, what if its a text only report, i should go view the title."

And what you were saying about clicking through each of the 10 new reports made little sense to what I was saying earlier. Stregas name was the newest thing I saw in the list so I clicked it.

There must be balance in the world of starcraft, if there was one unit killing everything, that would be crappy, but since it always happens on FFA, what the hell... let's do it!

I once read a book where they did that to politicians, the guys had all their property liquidated and were forced into office for fifteen years, if they did a good job they got some money and didnt get killed, if they did bad....

Oh yeah, to anyone saying "Invincible units? That's dumb! Huk huk." I tell thee this:
The Zerg are a biological race. The units are created by the overmind. The idea of a ruler making completely idiotic choices that will help lead to his downfall (Units that are vulnerable to air for example) struck closely to George W.
I know that it's a game and that is why the units have weaknesses, but I'm tackling this from a realist sort of view.

How is your Mother collecting SS? It is for people over the age of 65. You have have confused SS with some other program though. There are so many of them... <me> shudders...</me>.
But there are tons of great charities your mother can call on before going on the dole. Why expect 270 million people to give money to 450 or so politicians in Washington who will waste (or steal) $7 out of every $10 (a documented fact)? Why not give those 270 million people thier money back so they can donate it to charities? The American people aren't greedy - they are quite generous. That $ would be 10,000 times more efficient in the hands of private citizens than a slush fund for a corrupt political system.

#30 Syndrome_Zed[98345]

I'm not a radical on either side - I think both sides have good points and bad points. While I agree with the Republican fiscal policy - what Naf's describing - they're far too influenced by the Religious Right in their social policy. The Dems, unfortunately, think that they know better than me how to spend my money, and that throwing money at a problem makes it go away. But at least they're not trying to invade my or my GF's private lives with their version of morality.

That's why I think all politicians are evil - every one that wants to work in government thinks they know how to run my life better than I do. And that attitude sucks.

Oh, and Sage - I read a similar book - that's what gave me the idea :). And thanks ground :). I can see why ppl were wanting Jenna to pose for the mags too ;).
#31 Nafarias[98349]
170.89.46.124
I'm more a Libertarian than anything else (though thier drug stance bothers me) - but that said I don't see the Republican party as being a huge bastion of the 'religious right'. I don't recall the last time the Republican party tried to impose any religious viewpoint on anyone. Thier big thing is smaller government and more freedoms. Most people that say that repubs are 'religious fanatics' are probably thinking about the abortion issue. Do I hit near the mark? However, liberal Dems are ALWAYS trying to impose thier 'religious' (or anti-religious) viewpoints on everyone. I'm far more concerned about that than I am about conservative republicans.

"As a politician, your going to offend somebody no matter what you do. If you don't help an old lady across the street, your going to be accused of not caring for the needs of the elderly. If you help her across, you will be attacked by womens-right's organizations for not respecting a woman's independence. Just try and piss off the least amount of people."

I'm trying to figure out Lucky...
(A) Who the heck you were talking to in #33
(B) What you were talking about (defrauding)?
and (C) What we are supposed to know about before we comment.

Irregardless - people that don't like how the country is run in the U.S. don't move to Somalia - they MAKE the country run like they want it by voting/petitioning/complaining/talking/etc... I don't agree with liberal politics - but I'd never tell a liberal to leave the country if they don't like the way "I" think it should be run. You usually don't have to do that though. Most of them threaten to leave the country anyway. Sadly though, Barbara Streisand, Alec Baldwin, Kim Bassinger, Martin Sheen, and other liberal mushheads never actually leave. Wonder why that is? Maybe cuz the US is 10000X superior to the countries they THINK America should be like...
#34 Nafarias[98364]
170.89.46.124
Oh wait - he was talking about SS (missed the link). SS funds probably do NOT go in a trust as the gov claims. If you read the Fed Budget, SS funds are BUDGETED. Funds that come from a trust are NEVER 'budgeted'. This means they are either lying about the trust fund or fudging the budget. IE they either (A) co-mingle the funds and there ISN'T any 'trust' for SS (B) they want to keep SS as a budget to make you think they 'need' more money than they actually require. Irregardless - all items in the budget are paid from the general treasury: IE there IS no 'trust' fund. It just means they sort of 'keep track' of how much of the general funds are 'supposed' to belong to SS. If you think your SS $ is waiting in a trust fund you better think again. It gets thrown around & spent like every other cent the feds gets thier greedy hands on.
#35 Syndrome_Zed[98374]
P124-Dell.Stanford.EDU
Well, Naf, abortion was one of the better examples, since the question of when a human life begins is currently answered as a moral/religious question rather than a scientific question, since science hasn't been able to make it clear one way or the other. I personally don't like the war on drugs - it's got all the chances of working that prohibition had. But there are more subtle examples that suggest the Rep's version of more freedom is limited to certain areas only. But I'm more libertarian in my overall view - less government period, socially and fiscally. All I want is for my common defense to be provided for and I'll be happy.

#36 Syndrome_Zed[98375]
P124-Dell.Stanford.EDU
And Luckie, that second quote about a politician pissing off the least # of people - that's exactly half of what's wrong with politicians. A statesman wouldn't care how many people he pissed off, so long as it was good for the country as a whole. The public as a group acts like a spoiled child, and spoiled children have a tendency not to like taking medicine even though it helps them in the long run.

The other half is the attitude problem I mentioned earlier
#37 LuckyNewbie:P[98378]
user-33qtpa3.dialup.mindspring.com
I was thinking of quoting a lot of stuff, but its a waste of time. All i have to say is the notion that 'there are tons of great charities your mother can call on before going on the dole' is more wishful thinking than anything else, social security, despite what you want to say about it, is the easiest way to get financial aid when god decides to kick you in the balls. Talk to someone who knows economics about this if you really need to get it off your chest (sounds like it :P).

Oh, one more thing, what you're saying could be completly true, but your explaining it like a politician :[ (i keep thinking someone like gore is saying this) What about the other side? What about the counter-point?
