A nice light read that probably wouldn't have worked as a full report on any one game, but worked great as a sampler platter. 6.5 - 7.0, just because it's not truly a BR.

| Dodge the Sheep dodge the sheep. It's funny. Not as hard as he makes it sound. in 1.x versions, where you get some gold depending on how far you get in levels and can buy extra lifes, I have actually been able to make it till level 11 (out of 15) ghouls archers grunts and so on, the steam tanks killed us though, they were too fat and too slow. |

have you played "murder in the graveyard"? it's where your in a huge cemetary and you've been challenged to stay alive for a certain amount of time, but one of you is a killer, and you have to stay alive and try to figure out who it is before the end of the game. then there's spider hunters. their both really fun! |

#21: I wanted to include hero arena, but I was kind of divided on how much to say about it because 1) I've played so many games of it, 2) There's really only one good version of it out there (advanced 1.0) and a million different versions of "hunt the imbalance." Maybe next time.
#20: I have played several "murder" derivatives. Maybe they'll be in the next report but I'd like to keep it a surprise. :D
BTW what did everyone think of the .gif screenshots? I'm trying to find the most efficient yet visually appealing way of doing War3 BR graphics and to me these look pretty nice (and they're smaller than uncompressed jpgs) |

Another thing about the jpeg quality. Don't make em super-top quality, they'll be huge. Make them 9/10 quality. Way smaller and still as nice as the 10/10s.
1/10: 2k 4/10: 10k 6/10: 30k 9/10: 50k 10/10: 300k or so.

Ok so maybe its true that there are some really dumb mods out there, and even dumber players. (One of the arguments for joining a clan or a guild is to avoid problems like that). And based upon the problems we all routinely encounter, we have to hopelessly conclude that the WC3 community isnt exactly the oldest or the brightest per capita.
However there are some really ingenious mods out there. Vary's Vampire hunters is excellent, Murder in the Mansion is origional if not a bit goofy, tower maps such as DirtHoars, that focus on smaller, independant teams allow players to spell out antidisestablishmentarianism if they want to without affecting your leak count. (spelling out dirty words on the minimap, lol).
Anyway, I hope nobody jumps to the conclusion that mods are all bad in this game. In fact once i played my first game of vampire hunters, i was content to just ignore the ladder completely. They are that fun. |
