Good report Rabid. =p I have this game but I've never played it because my twin beat it before I even had a chance to play, so this is a good way for me to see what I'm missing.
By the way, you mentioned BYU and I have to ask. Are you LDS? I am. =p |

Yay, another incomplete series inches towards its conclusion! I hate cliffhangers =(
Some minor spelling/layout issues (single words scrunched up against two adjacent pics/text overlapping pictures)... And a few of the screenshots looked really dark to me -- but that's probably the way they were in the game, so whaddya gonna do, eh? Aside from which, they do lend a sort of evil ambiance to the report. These gripes didn't detract from my overall enjoyment of your contribution, because it was paced well, going through the storyline and describing the antics in the pictures. And I'm still drooling over the juicy sabre fight graphics :-P And of course, the irony of people guarding bombs set to go off. Only in the Imperial army...
And of course, professional hand amputation and castration services by Jedis. I hope you're making a tidy profit on the body part black market! Hands up; who needs a penis? |

| So how close are you to part 3? |

Part 3 probably won't be done for a while, I have finished playing through and taking screenshots, but I haven't written anything yet, My goal is to have it done close to, but before the end of the calender year. Finals are coming up quick and I'm really busy, and that is as soon as I reasonably feel I can get it done.
Part 3 will be the last part, it will be chock full of big pictures, and it will finallly explain all of the plot details. Upto this point all we know is is that there is some scepter that drains force from places and a jedi trainee is missing.
The only other problem with part 3 is that I will have to go through the game from memory and pictures, since JA doesn't actually run on my computer, and I won't be able to get any pictures of the alternate ending(s), but there will be alot of cool stuff to look at. |

| I know what you mean. I have all the pictures of the 3 days I sat in the cold waiting for the PS3 but I haven't gotten around to posting them up for all you BR.com'ers to make fun of me. |

Yay, a nice report Rabid. I really like it except for the before metioned layout problems. And as you might know, for my personal taste I find the pictures a bit to small and maybe they could be of a slightly better quality. I would award you a 7.5 - 8.
@Psy: The "Freezing PS3"-Report... yeah, bring it on... |

Firefox forgot my rater tag thing but Lucky hooked me up! Yay Lucky!
Formatting was an issue but that's been discussed so we'll just go with what was said. I assume you looked through it so if you just couldn't figure out how to fix it the forum's always there.
The style felt really dry to me, which is why it got a 7 instead of the 8 that the content demands. A lot of it reads like it's a walkthrough of sorts, except for a few lines (the tauntaun naming at the beginning, for example) that made me think you were trying to express it as a story. I'm assuming that's not the case because you do go into a lot of detail about how to do specific things. That's great in a strategy game, but Jedi Academy, where you're playing through the game and giving us a view of that seems to demand more of that story feel. Even keeping in the tips. When you discuss spiraling around a mounted gun to keep out of its line of fire, you can impart that as narrative and tell us you did that, and that the result was it wasn't able to take shots at you. I hope it's clear what I'm saying, because if the writing were less dry and more engaging I'd really enjoy this a lot more (enough to get those high ratings =V).
The only other thing was there were a few pics that didn't need to be there. The lightsaber combat was great, but the guy's corpse lying on the floor? You just told me you killed him, so you don't have to show me. Stuff gets cooler when you add pictures (and movies too) because you're showing the reader more action at once, but if you show them a lack of action it's not particularly interesting. You were pretty good about not doing this, and I imagine the distinction is harder to make when you're also showing story related stuff, but there were a couple in there.
The images and formatting stuff is secondary to the writing though! |

| I kind of agree with Desert Demon, although since I've played through the game before that's probably also why I'm not enjoying it as much as some. |

thanks for the tips guys.
for the last part I'll work on the writing a bit more to make it more story like, and I think I'll link to it instead of putting it in the frame, I can put bigger pictures in that way.
I think that 7 is still a good rating (8 is better) when I wrote the first part I was afraid it was going to get like a 4 or something.
I hope that people keep posting more good stuff here. see you guys later |
