Only thing I can say is, perhaps he didn't ally the observers to see cloaked units.
I have beaten this guy and his partner in quite a few 2v2's and have also observed him play. In those games, he didn't hack as far as I could tell.
That's pretty strong evidence though. And he is VERY deadly with psi-storm, never been able to catch him off gaurd. |

Up until that last bit of evidence I was inclined to believe that there was just a little misunderstanding. I, for one, use color printed Blizzard enlarged maps when playing those maps I'm unfamiliar with (it doesn't help me all that much except for finding player's starting positions...). Under certain circumstances, my using maps for reference can be perceived as "map hacking". (Before anyone raises their ugly "you're cheating" head, for my own defense, those maps are avaiable on the official BLIZZARD site... not some fly-by-night hacker site. Blizzard WANTS us to use those maps!)
However, that last bit Mr. Cochran, let alone Mr. Scheck (the DNA expert), wouldn't touch with a ten foot pole.

| Yeah i know who it is. When i was playing him i did something really stupid, but when i tried to make up for it I went to attack an area which only had a couple dragoons, and when i got there, the dragoons had been moved up so they raped my hydras, and later some observers told me that as my units were walking to this base my opponent moved his dragoons forward, and dropped 2 reavers and 2 templars. I didnt truly think he hacked until i watched him play a few games. I wont say who it is but i just described a game, you know who you are and many people who have watched you say you hack, and you dont build observers either. Give it up, and hopefully you will turn yourself in to blizzard for abusing and admit it to everyone, this way at least you will keep some little bit of dignity, like johnny_vegas said. Its funny to me watching your game that you blatantly hack and dont even try to act like you arent hacking, even with many observers!! The whole game we were just talking about your hacking moves, it was funny. Eventually someone will tell everyone, its only a matter of time.. |

I personally don't hack, because I don't think winning is overly important. It's the same reasoning I use for not playing Macro Goon, no matter how tough it is for me to beat. It's just more fun to play where recon is key, and it's more fun for me to micromanage and used mixed attacks. Same reasoning.
Luckily, I don't have a reputation... we all know that Tyderis has zero skills. I just report 'em, I'm not good enough to play 'em. (:

Noone ever gets away with cheating. If blizzard doesn't catch you, you can still be sure that your peers will find out and will not respect you. The top 16 players, some were abusers last season, and nobody respected them regardless of the fact that they were top 16. Saying that blizzard didnt reset you and you got top 16 doesnt matter when everyone knows you really do abuse.
If you guys want to play him, ask for an observer to take random screen shots, and make sure you host it so you can get in his spot and see if he has scouted all the bases etc... Chances are if you save the game at the end there might be a straight fog of war on from his base to yours... All i can say is when Sheep and i played them in the tournament, pz-h played noticably much worse, and I attribute that to ahscar asking to take screen shots. |

My final thoughts on this.
I'm pretty sure ProZerg did not hack in the majority of his games. But there did seem to be some times his skill jumped incredibly. In our last game I'm not sure. He used observers though... And it turned into a limited resource micro war, which a map hacker should win, right? A lot of the tricks I used involved arbiters cloaking temp raids and so forth, which a map hacker would have countered. Allthough my mass hallucination attacks might have covered for this.
WTH. I don't care. I thought he was good. He had a good enough power game I don't think he needed to hack to beat me. So whatever.

Ok... yet again.. like 70 percent of these posts are based on speculation from hearing/reading the other posts.. and the other 30 percent who think they "KNOW" really don't know for sure because he hasn't admitted to it, and IMO if he don't admit, or if we don't have screen shots.. then he doesn't hack. As for Pro-Zerg Hybrid, I dunno, it sucks that he'd do that, but it's not like he was going to make a living off of this right? Professional atheletes are caught cheating all the time, using steroids, illegal moves, illegal equipment... College atheletes often cheat to make the grade necessary to keep their scholarships. It's not most people, but it happens everywhere. I even cheated once to get through an impossible art history exam... although I do know quite a lot about art history. Rules are regularly broken in life.
Maybe PZH has a really frustrating real life and took it out on people on the net. It's a dickhead thing to do, but in perspective, nobody was really hurt by it more than ProZerg hurt himself. That said, I don't support cheating at all, just putting it in perspective.
Finally, how on earth could someone be so freakin' stupid as to hack so blatantly with observers watching? Speaking of observers... how stupid is it not to make observers? Obviously, someone good who never makes observers... hacks. And what's the point of hacking? As if money, prestige, and women were going to come pouring in to a guy with a winning record at Broodwar? Oh well... I guess I'll never understand, I compensate for sucking by trying to write good reports. |

There is a functional MapHack out for 1.05. I tend to look around for sites that carry MapHacks so they can be removed. I have downloaded functional map, disconnect and resource hacks.
Not that I would use them playing against another person. There is no fun in that. But it was a definite eye opener about what is out there.
If you come across a site that offers map, resource and disconnect hacks just report them to Blizzard.
That being said... ProZerg if you give up on the map hacking I'ld be more then happy to play against you. You have the skills and the strats to be a good player.

I have played ProZerg-Hybrid, and I have to say that he is not really that good. I don't know if he maphacked or not, but he had a really janky strategy which I owned. I don't think that he could get 1300 on the ladder legitimately, which makes me think that he probably cheated last season too.

This would explain why I tried and failed to get 2 different expansions running VS ProZerg the other day. He won the game mainly because I never could get resources in.
I have played with ProZerg and never have I thought him to be hacking. I should add that I have not plyaed allied with him for 2 or 3 weeks, so maybe he could he hacking.

| SavageTeacup: I believe I was playing with you in that game as I had a similar experience with PZH. As I recalled you were zerg and I was toss on Sherwood Forest. I'm not a very good player but with our skills combined we should've been able to beat him. My suspicions in that game arose when in the mid-late game he didnt even have observers with his attack forces. He took out my expansions, attack forces, and his offense was too precise. I thought he was just TOO good for not reconing in the game. The game came down to the wire as my mass units could not take out his buildings (he only had his bare main left) before his carriers took out all of my expansions and main base. But again, these are my speculations only and I'm not 100% positive that he did indeed used hacks in this particular game. It could be that he's just good enough to take out two guys. |

Ok seriously, here are my 2 cents.
When maphack came out for the first time I didn't know about it. This was probably last year some time. And for Starcraft too. Well anyway some guy was spamming in the channels about a maphack at some Geoshitties site so I checked it out and loaded it up on an IPX game against the computers. This hack showed not only the buildings, minerals but also the units on the minimap.
Then I went on battle.net and I joined a few games with it. Now keep in mind that this was before the PGL observor slots had been introduced, so there I was as an observor, being able to watch everyone's strats! I was so amazed at this, and a little disappointed that my fears had been confirmed, that I basically did very little at my base and watched my opponents the whole time. Needless to say I got destroyed.
As I continued this for a few days I started to actually try and win. But no, I could not pry my eyes from the interesting things my opponent was doing and I would always be caught napping with 2000K in the bank and no forces while I am watching his unique little build order. Needless to say, I NEVER WON A SINGLE GAME with maphack. Maybe I just didn't have it in me to exploit a win with it, I don't know. I was more fascinated with watching than exploiting it.
Anyway, so after a while I went back to the old fog of war and never used it again. Every now and then I would hear people say that a hack had come out for the new patch or whatever, but I never downloaded it. I didn't see the point of trying to win with it, while I would rather just watch the game. Then along came observor slots and I was just peachy keen.
As for whether this dude maphacks or not is really irrelevant to me, since he would still probably beat me down without it. I mean, I can see where he is coming from since once you get used to an advantage you hold on to it, kind of like McGwire and his steroids. Still, Mac was able to live down the bad comments because of his natural talent.
(Oh P.S. I did win with maphack once on IPX against a friend because he had used a computer program to own me in chess =P) |
