Function over form. Content over prettiness. I would say it's a slightly-above average report because it involves a less-reported map, two strong players, and more than a single mass mentality in strategy.
Pictures don't make a battle report. I've given 8's to really good battle reports with few or no pictures at all. A BR should get a higher grade if its pictures truly add to the report, but a BR should not be downgraded for a lack of pictures.
I think we're at the point in BR.com's evolution where every sees how successfully YRM integrated pictures in his report and they spend more time worrying about pictures than making an interesting report. Kinda like web design 2 years ago ;) Who cares if your site is just a bunch of links if there's an animated GIF of a talking whale at the top?
YRM does a great job with pictures even if a few are sometimes gratuitous ;) That doesn't mean everyone else has to emulate it.

Well using my administration privileges I am going to give this report a -10! That's right a -10!
Hehe just kidding. It was a well written report. Unfortunately it was a game where I played like a chump. I saw the greater spire and did nothing about it. I was trying to go SV and medarines to possibly win the cost effectiveness battle and turn the tide. If I would have had like 6 wraiths I could have killed that whole fleet and sent them back for repairs. Bleh.
Lurkers are great units, because I was afraid to attack his expansions because of them.

Hmm, where should I start? Okay, good report. Next, to HolyAnarchy{GK}, yes.. it isn't a great report... but who gives a *&^$^!! Why do people insist on saying, such and such report doesn't deserve a whatever rating? It's really not that big of a deal. One of the reasons there are so many raters is the law of averages. Also, let's put it this way, hypothetically if I wrote a book and Steven King wrote a book, which one do you think would be higher touted? Even if my book was better, the critics would most likely chose Steven King. Oh well... I just get tired of statements like, "Imbalance", "Favoritism", "Racism", "Unfair"... sorry, just gets old to me.
Back to the report... nice to see a zerg player able to beat a terran late game. Sorry Vegas... ;-p

The ratings are used for general guidelines to weed out crap reports, and to emphasize good reports people will enjoy.
This isn't the olympics. There is no "Battle Report Ladder" either.
I consider all reports that are 6 or 7 quality or higher worthwhile reports.
And remember people, you can use the search engine to go look at old 8,9,10 rated reports! |

Hey Ducky,
I was covering that battle (BR name = "Intense Rivalry"). Nice drop, but you didn't kill Johnny's main with the 'lings, Hydras and two Lurkers. The queens taking out the tanks were pretty neat though.

| You monklor ok well whoop made some errors and kinda makes it sound like I was acting half assed the entire game. First of all, after JV was "contained" I set up olies on patrol across the map to ensure that no drop ships would enter my territory. Further a single spore colony defense was placed at each expansion (a one sunken 1 spore was located at my main) Wraiths are a good option v. a lurker rusher because you have to figure the bastard zergie is going to expand like mad and rely on lurker containment and the awesome unit producability that comes with two hive clusters. but anyhow, after a good zergie has his enemy contained he'll make scourge to further the containment. Once my spire had morphed I mutated 4 scourge to pop any and all of Jv's sci vessells. The first two I sent in were promptly slaughtered by rines, after tempting JV with some lurks tho Mr Burns strayed from his body guards and was promptly removed by 4 scourge on a mission. Also whoop you monkey's ass my tickly monkeys were 1+4/2 :) after the money started to come in I immediately threw up 3 evo chambers and teched like a whore. That's the whole lurker concept. Make sure you can contain your opponent use scourge to elim mobile detection, abuse bridges and other choke spots, expland like a slut, tech like a whore to a terran killer like tickly monkeys or guards. JV did get quite a few drones at the north west main but I really only lost the drones due to the construction of like 7 spore colonies :) also USE PATROL with olies. If you try and drop me i'll just make around 3 sunkens and 18 lings by the time your slow ass drop ship gets to its target. Further i'll pump scourge at one of my exp's so chances are your ship probably won't even get to land. and if you doubt that shit play me and i'll show you the power of scourge mofo! :) |

| oh whoop you forgot my perfectly time tech whore build where right after containment was established i queen's nested then upgraded to hive then made a spire as hive morphed only to have spire finish exactly when hive upgrade was done. Insta greater spire yeah baby! after that I made scourge for gay vessells that piss my lurks off. expand like a whore while you wait for scourge and yer golden :) |
