Hello all, this is my first BR :P so here goes.

Map Played: Lost Temple (what else heh)

Teams were: Zerglicious and Jeezumcrow
VERSUS
Gambleren and Arclightning

Starting Positions:
12:00 Zerglicious-Zerg
03:00 Gambleren-Protoss
06:00 Arclightning-Terran
09:00 Jeezumcrow-Zerg

We all chose random (apart from Zerglicious cause he can't run with the pack anymore, heh)and luckily got the races we were best at, GO ZERGS!! BOO TERRAN TOSS!!

Well, I started the game with a 2 hatchery before pool build order, to make a quick 12-14 lings within the first 5 minutes. My partner, Zerglicious made pool, OL, then hatchery.

His OL scouts to the 3:00 position and finds Gambleren's Protoss with 2 gateways warping. Good, because having him see the overlord above him, will prevent him from going quick tech, and will make defense. At around this time I see Arclightning as Terran with my OL.

Knowing that Arclightning will probably make quick MM to counter mass lings or quick expansion, and that this is his general build order and damit he is so good with it :(, I decided to get some gas for better units.

My partner and I both go for gas, with me making 3rd hatchery at choke and Zerglicious going for expansion. We have also been constantly making a ton of lings and placing them in the middle.

With ling speed upgrade researched and starting to go power hydras, my teams sends all the lings to attack Gambleren's toss. With my initial ling scout, I find 2 goons and several zealots at the choke postion near his natural, trying to establish an expansion. He sends in more reinforcements just as our 20+ lings arrive.

Our initial attack overwhelms the toss units, and decide to go into the home base, rather than finish off the just completed Nexus. My hydras arrived around this time, as do Arc's marines, with the combination of probes and newly made units and Arc's marine, Gambleren is able to kill all the surviving lings and hydras and suffer minimal damage to important buildings. Doh!

Seeing that our attack failed, I was still glad to see that Zerglicious's expansion is running well, with his choke defended with dual sunkens and lings. So i decide to make an expansion as well and make a liar for lurkers to counter a possible Stimmed Marines and Medics threat.

During this time, our team had wanted to continue bombarding Gambleren with tons of hydras and lings but Arclighting had make 4-6 Vultures and his mines were placed just outside of our chokes and near Gambleren's choke.

This cause massive losses on my hydras and Zerglicious' lings, so we stopped attacking and went dual air.

Constantly throwing a ling into terran's base, to lure mines out of place and see if terran had expanded yet, I was relieved to see that there was no sign of an expansion but saw the making of a building for the dreaded Science Vessel.(EVIL!!!!)

Knowing that Arc loves to drop a tank or two with MM support at my home base, i put 2 sunkens to cover any weak spots of my base. True to my thoughts, as my 2nd creep was forming, my OL near his base sights 2 dropships.

I run my lings to follow the dropships. The fact that my
1st sunken was placed just at the center of my base with another one forming outside Arc drops his payload towards the right of the base, his 2 tanks drop and siege while his marines kill off the lings that were waiting there.

Since it will take a while for his force to be able to kill the sunkens with his tanks, i make lings from all 4 of my hatcheries and finish the attacking force with the help of Zerglicious' lings. Speed upgraded lings owns Tanks!!!

Having survived a drop, we hoped to surprise our enemies with a ton of mutas. My spire had been built at choke in hope that Arclightning's scanner wont hit there.

Asking my parnter to wait for my 9 mutas to finish forming before attacking, he asks who we should attack. Not being able to decide on who to attack, our minds were made up when we see a pylon formed with a goon and a templar on the ledge at Zerglicious' natural.

Well hehe, I had actually begun to attack Arc's terrans while my partner was going for blue, but seeing the many marines and a Science Vessel and that my partner had just found the toss at his ledge and lost most of most of his half dozen of mutas to the temp storm (Oh EVIL!!) I turned around to help him.

With a total of 13 mutas, I kill off the temp and 2 goon reinforcements there and cannon BUT NOT THE PYLON. Trying to see if I could kill off Gambleren's probes, I go in there to find a cannon, 2 temps and 4 dragoons :(

Hoping to finish off the cannon, before a storm, i was a bit late and lost 4 of my 12 mutas with the rest seriously hurt. At this time my Ol hovering at Toss's natural, sees a shuttle moving south and in my mind, towards the island bottom right.

Deciding whether to retreat and finish off the pylon at Zerglicious' ledge or continue attacking Gamb's base or go down and stop an expansion attempt at island.

I make yet another mistake and try to kill off Gambleren's 2 temps. Another storm weakens my mutas and the 4 goons along with 3 more new goons, kill off all but 4 mutas, while they escape and head toward the island. :( The remaining 4 mutas get wasted by stimmed marines protecting a CC at the island.

At this time, I feel that the tables are really turning, since our team wasted around 20 mutas which did absolutely nothing which is not good in a small map vs good opponents.
Also, our enemies both have exansions and would be slowly getting stronger.

The threat at Zerglicious's ledge had gotten worse, with 2 newly formed cannons pounding down and temps (which later become Archons) and goons protecting the ledge from air attack.

I make the queen building to get hive for an eventual gaurdian force, while also making 2 evolution chambers to upgrade my hyrdas. This was done to counter Arclighinting's play style, where he always will try to get his marine 3 attack and 3 armor as soon as possible.

During this time, my scouts finds terran making yet another expansion at his natural, so we try to probe attack to see how well defended it is. Our team of 6+ lings find a lot of marines with medics there, so I immediately make sunkens at my choke and lurker tech.

True to my fear of an attack, terran comes to attack my choke point and kills off a 6th hatchery just completed at my mineral only location. ( Although he didnt see an undefended 5th hatchery, my partner and I was sharing at the mineral only location south of the 12:00 position heehee)

At this time, Zerglicious' loses his hatchery to the cannons at the ledge, so he is starving for gas. I also see a MM drop at my ledge near the choke.

Seeing this I try to counter by making drop technology ( annoyed at this time, since I swore I had click the button to research it earlier) and research range for hyrdas and upgrade spire.

After the stimmed marines kill off the hatchery, I use some of my lings in the middle to attack his natural, as terrans usually leave their bunkers' empty when attacking. My 12+ lings finishes of the defense buildings and causes the CC at Arclighting's natural to lift off.

But Arclightning use his scvs to escape and lure the lings to the ramps. With his scvs' at all at the top of the ramp and marines behind, the SCVs block the lings from getting at the marines while attacking them too, STUPID AI...

Rather then micromanage my lings, i retreat my surviving lings and use my time to counter the MMs waiting at my ledge and the ones below. I also make a lurker at this time.

My lurker prevent the attacking ground force of MM from killing the natural expansion but another drop from Arclighing with 2 siege tank causes me to get my remaining 2 mutas to quickly kill them off b4 Arc can react with his stimmed marines.

I was able to kill off one of the 2 siege tanks, but my mutas all die, so i try to use a ling and hyrdas to take damage to protect my hatchery , while i made 2 mutas for gaurdians. ( My greater spire is still forming , damit i need guards NOW!)

After my cannon fodder of one ling and 2 hdyras die, and my hatchery in the red. My guardians finally appear and quickly dispatch the tank. Arclightning tries to use his stimmed marines to kill the 2 guardians, but i have them retreat and then come back to kill them slowly.

At this time, we are in deep trouble, cause i lost my gas at natural. Zerglicious fails to prevent Gambleren from expanding to a mineral only spot, due to storms, goons.

Arclightning also blockades my choke constantly with mines, and my initial strategy of throwing a ling to trigger the mines to explode fails, when he brings enough of his terran force to kill the lings b4 the mines get triggered.

He also irradiates my guardians that try to help Zerglicious' force that are attacking Gambleren's attempt at expanding.

As you can see, it is really looking bleak, so i decide on making only lings and a defiler mound, since i still had a lot of cash but very little gas.

Zerglicious tries to make one last attempt of stopping Gambleren's 3rd exanpsion, and uses all his remaining 30+ lings with mutas to attack, I am unable to help him due to haveing been weakened by Arc, and being slowly blockaded by mines, vultures and more marines.

He is successful intially, but loses most of his force in the attempt. At this time, Arc is irradiating anything of mine, with his patented 6-8 science vessels, that he always make all the time :P. I try to kill of some of them with scourges but fail when he matrix one of his vessels to take the scourges.

Gambleren finally breaks out with a ton of goons, and take out the remaining force of Zerglicious, and our shared expansion at the mineral location. Damn, this is OVER.

With Zerglicious telling me that the end is near. I try one last attempt to look good, by making consume tech, with 2 defilers and a ton of lings with a couple of hyrdas and lurkers at choke.

Even though I see one and later two Battle cruisers matrixed and attacking my home base, I said Firetruck it!, i am going to wait for them at my choke.

The Goons and MM along with science vessels continuing the irradiation of my forces, try to come through my choke, but I hastely consume a ling or 2 and throw clouds everywhere, taking out the marines with my lings, and protecting my lurkers.

I also kill off the 2 BCs at my base with a cloud and 8 hdyras, and also taking out the 5 vessels there. Yeah!!

Of course Arc's could not care less, since he was busily making firebats :( He and I play 1v1 too much, we each got a counter for our plays.

The end finally came with firebats taking out my remaining lings and lurkers and goons following closely behind. Oh well.

It was a GG, (gambleren was smirking..) I hope you folks thought so too.

LESSONS LEARNED:

1) Every unit counts, my mutas should of finished off the threat at the ledge, and also waiting to become Guardians to counter MMs, or harrass toss's natural, or prevent island expansions.

2) Should of taken out expansion Nexus, instead of going to homebase. This is because good players can use probes to defend well with dancing goons and Zealots. Also this would make Gambleren waste 400 for the destruction of his Nexus at his natural, setting him back.

3) Have faster technology with OL to accompany hydras when trying to take out mines. We wasted a lot of our force, espcially the lings to the mines.

4) Need to put screen prints to make this Battle Report more interesting, people (including myself) have better things to do, then sit around and read an hour long report :)
