Wow, a Bob the Newt BR with a gray warning telling you to wait for the pics to load before looking at it, who would've seen that coming? Without further ado, I present :

Myself and [BV]DeathStrike are given the prestigious honor of observing four of the greatest players ever to play StarCraft duke it out in a no-holds-barred Free For All on the relatively unknown, not to mention very balanced for all races and starting positions, map of Lost Temple.

In what was no doubt a huge surprise to fans of "Jesse" everywhere, every player opted for expansions to start off the FFA. -=~KaDaBrA~=- did a standard 10/9 hatch at his natural, DoomDragon quickly put up a bunker for defense at his soon to be expansion's choke, and Mexican-POW (from now on called Persian-POW because "Mex is just my gay ladder name") fortified his natural with four zealots two cannons and a shield battery. Ronin~ was the only one not to take the risk of expanding so quickly, and did a wall-in, later building a CC within his main that he would float to the bottom island. His expan was the last to come online due to this, but also the safest. There was a massive absence of action while the players built up, and threatened each other.

Now that early game is over (which is pretty damn long in a FFA) the player's builds are starting to show themselves clearly, DoomDragon is pumping mass factory units, Persian-POW is powering like a whore whilst making himself a ground army, while Ronin~ and -=~KaDaBrA~=- have decided to set the theme of the BR by going BCs out of two starports and mass lurkers/queens, respectfully.
I was eager to see the lurkers go out and tear some stuff up, but KaD disappointed me by using them purely for defense. Persian-POW suspected that someone may be starting a nude expansion on the bottom island, and loaded up two goons to check it out. However, the island was far from nude, being protected by a bunker and turrets.

DoomDragon has been thinking about the islands too, and unloads three goliaths and two scvs at the upper one to begin an expansion of his own. This is soon found by a scouting overlord from KaD, alerting him to the imminent danger of a Terran with a nearby expansion. The evil zerg sends his queens over and broodlings two gollies, letting the remaining one face the shame of being destroyed by broodlings. The remaining queens brood some scvs, but a Science Vessel comes to the island and with some help from the last scv, prevent the expansion's destruction. -=~KaDaBrA~=- still accomplished his goal of stalling DoomDragon while he teched to guardians. Persian-POW kept himself busy by putting up two stargates hidden on his natural's cliff that would be used for corsair and carrier support. DoomDragon sent four goliaths, 2 tanks, 2 vultures, 2 valkyries, and a science vessel to help with his islands defense. Just as soon as the island was starting to come online, -=~KaDaBrA~=- sent his newly acquired air fleet of seven guards and 3 devourers to make sure it didn't mine anymore.
-=~KaDaBrA~=- removed the science vessel threat with scourge, and then moved in. He managed to wipe out the base, but DoomDragon sent over 4 more goliaths as fast as the dropship could carry them. Once landed they disposed of the remaining guardians, most weak from splash damage. -=~KaDaBrA~=- hadn't slacked on troop production however, and sent in ten plain old mutalisks after brooding the gollies. Ronin~ has been silently massing battlecruisers this whole time, and has gotten the count up to eight. He sends them and two science vessels off to attack Persian-POW, but not all in one group like your average player would do, he splits them into two groups of four BCs and a SV. He sends one group to attack from the cliff of the natural, and one to squeeze in between the space between Persian-POW and DoomDragon in hopes of attack the base from the rear.

Ronin~'s endeavor started off bad, with one BC wandering a bit too close to DoomDragon's gollies and turrets. Ronin~ was still intent on what he set out to do, which was, to my surprise, EMP/yamatoing Persian-POW's nexi. He did manage to destroy the nexus at Persian-POW's natural, but wasn't able to get the one at his main, which is moot since his main was mined out anyway. Goons and storms destroyed the BCs at the main while sairs and anti-cliff-siege cannons took care of the ones above the natural. Persian-POW is unfazed by the attack, he simply has the probes mining his natural use the nexus by his nearby mineral-only. While this was happening, KaDaBrA took control of the upper island that he fought so hard to get. Persian-POW knew that Ronin~ was weak now, so wasted no time in attacking the bottom island. It's hard enough for a full strength terran to stop three carriers, six corsairs (armed with gayweb) and some shuttles of upgraded ground troops, but it's nearly impossible for a terran who just lost his army to stop. Luckily for him Ronin~ had established an expansion at his natural prior to this attack, so he was not totally crippled. Persian-POW soon sends shuttle with a probe to build a nexus on the ashes of the former base. KaD has decided to do something risky, morph all his mutalisks into guardians, and assault DoomDragon with guards using scourge as their only air support. DoomDragon now has a small air fleet of seven valks and four wraiths, and by chance goes out to attack -=~KaDaBrA~=- and the same moment -=~KaDaBrA~=- sets off to attack him.

-=~KaDaBrA~=- micros his horde of scourge well, with none being wasted, but there are not enough of the winged sappers to destroy all of DoomDragon's ships. The remaining three valkyries and single wraith destroy KaD's guardians with ease. -=~KaDaBrA~=- now sets out to complete his collection of the most gas heavy zerg units, and makes several defilers. Persian-POW now continues his offensive on Ronin~, sending the same three carriers and six corsairs that helped take his island to attack the Terran's natural. For some reason Ronin~ runs away with his four BCs, two SVs, and around a dozen m&m. A few well placed yamato's and EMPs would have reduced the Protoss fleet into a few 40 hp carriers and half health sairs. But he chooses to let his natural, and then main fall to the small force.

If you're a smart little monkey, you may have noticed the red dots on the upper island in the minimap. They're there because DoomDragon sent his single wraith and three valks up to wreak some havoc at the island after they disposed of the guards.
-=~KaDaBrA~=- had no anti-air at the time and his only way to protect the drones was by covering them in dark swarm.
If I don't become a rater I'm going to start a hardcore Rook porno site. The spur of the moment shield lasts for a little while, but only serves to delay the island's demise. DoomDragon ferries over eight goliaths which are able to kill buildings and drones straying from the darkswarm much faster than the lone wraith. Once more the island has switched ownership's, with DoomDragon sending over scvs to start a new command center as soon as the creep recedes.
Persian-POW continues to tear into Ronin~'s base with the three carriers, leaving Ronin~ with only three buildings floated to -=~KaDaBrA~=-'s cliff and a heavily defended supply depot in the middle of the map.

-=~KaDaBrA~=- once again tries to broodling his way into the upper island, but only manages to kill seven of the gollies. The surviving 3/3 goliath was able to destroy the 0/0 broodlings with little difficulty. -=~KaDaBrA~=-'s short inactivity and inability to defend against a lone wraith was because he had been massing an army of cracklings. He commanded the lings to move in front of DoomDragon's new mineral-only expansion, and once the supporting defilers arrived they wasted no time in attacking.

While -=~KaDaBrA~=- does regroup his zerglings before attacking, he sends them in through the small entrance, forcing them to line up to get through. This works out great for DoomDragon, his first four tanks on low ground kill a good number of lings coming through, then five more tanks on his high ground can take shots at what survives that, and finally his goliaths shoot anything that makes it through all the tank blasts. DoomDragon fends off the attack with only the loss of four goliaths and a tank. I'm sure all the smart monkeys that looked at the last minimap have noticed the purple dots on -=~KaDaBrA~=-'s cliff and the orange dots near Persian-POW's island in this one. The orange dots are Ronin~'s final offensive, in the form of his remaining four battlecruisers. Persian-POW's carriers and corsairs are occupied elsewhere, and the islands dragoon defense only takes down one cruiser before being run over.
Persian-POW had continued with his strat of hugging the map's edge, and was attacking -=~KaDaBrA~=- from the natural's cliff. During the attack Peon-of-War decided to give me an update on his War2bnet skills, and DoomDragon came up with an odd idea.
-=~KaDaBrA~=- was able to destroy the fleet with use of scourge, plague, and some hastily erected spore colonies. Persian-POW had not forgotten that he still had to deal with Ronin~'s last BCs, so he warped in a scout fleet to remove the cruisers with maximum efficiency.
Right now Persian-POW is clearly ahead, but all of the players know that, and are no doubt out to get him. However, with such a commanding lead, could they do anything short of backstabbing to beat the protoss? You'll just have to wait for the next installment to find out!
This BR is dedicated too . . .
The A-X clan, for managing to make a successful and respected clan despite only having newbie and lamer members,
The three hitmen I hired at bargain price to "talk to" the Blizzard Staff Members responsible for the 1.07 font,
And finally, to Vegas, YRM, and Dork4 Mark4 for the cool new site layout!
This has been a production.
