This game started off as they all do... I was wandering around in Nohunters, trying to find a game to improve my reporting skills on. It just so happens that NewbieMcWasted was spamming for a 1v1. I start whispering people, and eventually get Deschain to join the fight. NewbieMcWasted makes the game (Newbie1/Newbie1) and I move down to the observers section. It seems Deschain has beaten me there, and after a couple minutes of talk, the countdown starts...
Opening Game
 NewbieMcWasted chose the resourceful Terrans during the countdown, and came out Red at the top left island. Deschain decided to go for the all powerful Protoss spawning at the bottom left start and the color Orange. NewbieMcWasted starts off with a Supply Depot, so he can produce more SCVs, then went gas to start the early production of Tanks and Dropships. After his SCVs started mining the poisonous green fart juice, a Barracks was constructed. Deschain also opts for an early drop. His build order went something like Pylon - Gateway - Assimilator - Pylon - Cybernetics Core.  He soon followed with a Robotics Facility. Over on NewbieMcWasted's island, an Academy, Factory, and Starport are constructed simultaneosly, soon followed by addons to all the buildings. Despite being inbetween the two bases, Deschain expands to the middle left island with his first Shuttle. This is where the action begins...
First Offensives |
NewbieMcWasted loads up his two Dropships with 2 Siege Tanks, 2 SCVs, 3 Marines, 1 Firebat, and 2 Medics. The convoy makes its way to the back of Deschain's mineral line... Unloading upon arrival, the Terran units start popping some probes, but are soon destroyed by Deschain's lone Reaver and a few wandering Goons.
Deschain's now operational expansion would prove to be a hassel for NewbieMcWasted. A tank and 2 SCVs are dropped on the island, along with a wraith, but 2 goons and a newly shipped reaver take them out.  Another drop is loaded up, this one consisting of 4 Marines and 1 Tank. Here, a maneuver I have never witnessed before happened. The "Tank Pop." NewbieMcWasted must have been really drunk to have attempted this, for it consisted of his 1 Tank popping in and out of the dropship, dodging the Deschain's scarabs. But it probably wasn't the best strategy, because after a few seconds the dropship was shot down by a new cannon. At this point, a tank he would just have to be satisfied with a Tank sieging up and shooting across the water onto the 2 nearest mineral patches.
Drops Galore!
NewbieMcWasted sees the need for a new expansion to match the resource income of his enemy. A Command Center is constructed at NewbieMcWasted's main and floated to the island at the top middle of the map. SCV construction starts, and a Refinery is put up. The expansion is currently undefended, and Deschain sees that through a patrolling observer. 2 Goons are quickly landed there and start popping SCVs. A Wraith, Vulture, and Tank are quickly shuttled over, and along with the help of some friendly SCVs, destroy the two Goons. But 2 more are already En-Route to the new Terran expansion. The unprotected Tank explodes, 2 Vultures and another Tank replace it, but not before yet another 2 Goons are ferried to the island. Deschain proves once again that Dragoons > Vultures.
 The CC is razed, but by now, NewbieMcWasted is getting mad. 2 Tanks plus cloaked Wraiths take out the remaining Goons that were on the island and hold it once again.
A floating Command Center gently lands at the top left island base and starts producing SCVs, but all under the watchful eye of a hovering Observer. NewbieMcWasted now starts producing Wraiths out of his 3 Starports, while Deschain is still producing Goons, Reavers, and Shuttles for his expansion raids. Once the SCVs at the top right corner piled up, 4 shuttles of Goons swiftly dropped and kill everything except the Command Center which floated away to safety. 
Late Game Attacks
During this time, Deschain expands again, this time to the bottom middle expansion island. Soon after the attack, NewbieMcWasted floats a different CC to the bottom-left-center-Isle (did you get that?). McWasted, being the newbie that he is, does a Turbo across the water onto both of Deschain's expansions, effectively blocking off 1 gas and 2 mineral patches.
Deschain is very persistant in taking out NewbieMcWasted's top expasion however, and drops a total of 8 Goonies to attempt to take it out... again. At this time, the first Battle Cruiser makes its appearance, and along with a helpful Defense Matrix or two, takes out the Goons.  Deschain is constantly on the offensive, and now makes another dragoon drop. This time on Newbie's second expansion. Disruption Web takes care of the turrets, but a Tank and two Vultures knock out the offending Protoss Warriors.
Deschain is mined out at his main base, so he transports one Probe to start a Nexus at the bottom right starting location. At the same time, NewbieMcWasted's chased away Command Center lands back down at the top right, trying to get a naked expansion up.
The Final Battles
Now, with three expansions running, Deschain decides to turn on the gay music and crank the volume. Yep, a fleet beacon and 3 starports start flashing... It's Carrier time.  NewbieMcWasted put up two simultaneous expansions, one at the top-left-center-expansion, and once again, he has gone for the top right. McWasted also makes a small attack on the bottom middle expansion, with only 3 BC's, but surprisingly enough, the base was razed.
The next move isn't made for a while, but it is a full scale assault of Newbie's main base.
While the 6 veteran Goons and 4 Reavers started attacking the top right again, Deschain's full fleet of carriers and corsairs moved in on NewbieMcWasted's main base.
The Valkyries and Battle Cruisers were shot down in a swarm of interceptors and neutron flares. The now 2/1/3 Carriers wipe out Newbie's main base completely. The huge Fleet of Protoss Warships then attacked the left-middle island totally destroying it. Although NewbieMcWasted did have an impressive standing army, it was on the wrong island! Only charred Earth remained of what used to be one of NewbieMcWasted's two resource nodes. As the fleet of 9 Carriers approached the top - right island, gay-webs sprung up everywhere, covering the Goliaths and totally wiping the floor with them. NewbieMcWasted conceded with a "gg" and we all echoed it. The game was over. Deschain's mighty Protoss Fleet had won the day.
Comments on the Game
- Carriers and Disruption web are really annoying.
- Deschain won because he had constant map control and kept shutting down Newbie's expansions
- This was a great game by all, I have never seen such a well fought battle before.
- My first report, I am happy to say that I have been observing many reports and copying the techniques. I hope this one will fit in with the other great BR's of this site!
- Don't play starcraft when you are wasted. It costed Newbie the game.
