"I programmed a random number generator that picks a number between 3 and 3.999999 and truncates any decimal points. I vowed to use the results of the output from this program [for your rating]. The result was 3." - Drefsab

Ok - Though I have never written a battle report before, this battle was so fun (mixed with some kewl strategies of course) I just had to write a report. Here goes...

The Map : Lost Temple (If you don't know it you need to STOP playing Hunters)

The Players : ChildOfWar (Hi Mom!) in the South-Zerg
SilverFalcon in the East-Terran

I sent my OL over to the 9:00 start just cuz it was closer and put all of my drones working minerals to get ready for early zerglings. I jumped to my natural before a spawning and had 2 working bases before too long. I still had no idea what Silver was up to, so I decided to send over 6 lings to check out his base. The unupgraded lings were mowed down from 2 bunkers at the top of his ramp. "Shit" I said aloud. That was gonna be hard to break, so I upgraded the speed on my lings and their armor. Then I double laired and prepared for the drop just as I got a hydra den up with about 500 gas in the bank. I took about 18 lings, no faster and a little tougher and sat down in front of his base. He was just getting a Starport up and only had one factory, so I figured he was going for Wraiths. I threw up a couple of Spore coloies just in case and expanded again. I decided to try something I had been working on and ran all my lings past his bunkers and into his workers. I lost about 6 in the initial dash, but there were still plenty to kill all but a few SCV's. His marines, no longer protected by their bunkers interrupted my rampage, only to be slaughtered by my ling force. He lifted off and flew to the defenses still intact around the perimeter of his base. Supporting firebats killed the rest of my lings and the buildings moved back into position. I knew he was hurting and knew I had top act fast. I got about 8-12 hydras and loaded them up into my new transports and set out for the back of his base. On my way, I expanded to the islands and got them up and running, just in case. I dropped him at his resources just as a bunker was finished. Too little, too late.

The hydras made short work of his base and mutas hunted down the few buildings that did make it away.

Lessons Learned:

1)-ALWAYS protect your resources. If he had had a bunker or two and a tank at his resources, we'd still be fighting.

2)-NEVER underestimate zerglings. Once they are upgraded, they can be a real thorn in your side.

3)-ALWAYs press your advantage as soon as your opponent shows weakness('s)

Ok - That does it for me. I welcome all comments, suggestions, etc. Just e-mail me at gundabad@yahoo.com
