Early Game Builds

-)CummingBurd(- Decides to take a risky approach and goes 11/9 Hatch. He gets the 11/9 hatch by doing an elaborate Extractor trick. He Builds a creep colony and an extractor, build two drones, and cancels both structures. He then sends a Drone down to his Natural and Makes a Hatchery there. This is soon followed by a Lord and then Pool.

On the other side of the map sNipeR100's goes with a more conventional strategy of 8 Pylon, 10 Gate, 12 Gate, 13 Pylon.

Early Game

At this time, both Players scout each other with a peon. -)CummingBurd(-, knowing recon is crucial due to the fact that his opponent is random, and sNipeR100's looking to see what kind of tech his Zerg opponent was looking for. Seeing that -)CummingBurd(- had early expanded, sNipeR100's takes a 1 Zealot 3 Probe Force and heads over to -)CummingBurd(-'s natural. His attack is stopped by Probes without doing much damage though, due to poor handling by sNipeR100's. SNipeR100's later told me he was training units at home and neglected to control his small force. So the small toss army is squashed succeeding in only damaging the Hatchery and killing 2 Zerglings. Had sNipeR100's gone for the Drones at -)CummingBurd(-'s main rather than the Hatchery, he could've done some real damage.

Mid Game

Now both players stop and build up their forces. -)CummingBurd(- adds in a 3rd Hatchery and a few Sunken's while hopping up the tech Tree to Lair. SNipeR100's goes up tech until Citadel, at which time he takes his first 9 Zealots and a Probe and Takes his natural, while getting psi storm and Templar. -)CummingBurd(- begins a Spire and with his 2 operating bases soon has a force of about 8 Mutalisks. He sends these Mutas behind sNipeR100's mineral line for some harassment. SNipeR100's was ready for such an attack, as he had 2 Cannons at his Nexus. The Mutalisks focus fire on the cannons and succeed in killing a few Probes before some Dragoons chase them off. -)CummingBurd(- uses good control and constantly harasses the Protoss main base and expansion. -)CummingBurd(- does not neglect unit production during this time, and has been macroing well creating a large force of maybe 24 Mutas at home. At this point it looks like the game is in -)CummingBurd(-'s hands. He expands to the 12:00 natural, setting up 2 Hatcheries there. He has been creating large force of Mutalisks at home and continues constant harassment of the Protoss bases, sometimes assaulting both sNipeR100's main and natural at once. However, sNipeR100's makes an Archon and sits it in his Natural's minerals. -)CummingBurd(- flies in his flock and with a "shit" he leaves, never harassing that mineral line again.

Late Game

Despite the large loss in Probes from -)CummingBurd(-'s constant harassment, the game appears to start shifting into sNipeR100's favor. He has managed to sneak a Probe out to 9:00 and has begun an expansion there. He has also thrown up 3 StarGates and begun Corsair Production. Now one of 's harassment forces is disrupted miserably, he loses about 12 Mutas to 4 Corsairs and a well placed psi storm. -)CummingBurd(- takes this time to expand to 12:00, again plopping down 2 Hatcheries right away there. Now, dispute -)CummingBurd(-'s nonstop harassment attempts, sNipeR100's has gathered a large force of Dragoons and Templar from his 5 Gateways and a good force of Corsairs from his 3 StarGates. He takes his Large forces and heads over to -)CummingBurd(-'s main. After taking out the Sunkens he absolutely plows through the 36 or so Mutas with Goons, Corsairs and psi storm.
So sNipeR100's continues through -)CummingBurd(-'s main until it is destroyed. The game is not over yet. -)CummingBurd(- thought ahead, and started a Spire at 12:00 as soon as he saw he would lose his main. This Spire is at the time 1/2 complete. SNipeR100's is not aware that -)CummingBurd(- has a 12:00 expansion but scouts it soon with a Zealot. So, here comes sNipeR100's forces. They meet with a sizable amount of Mutas that -)CummingBurd(- has made out of his 4 Hatcheries. However, these Mutas aren't much good against the overwhelming Protoss Forces. -)CummingBurd(- surrenders with a 'gg'.

Analysis

-)CummingBurd(- held on until late game. At this time sNipeR100's started getting the Protoss' storng anti-muta weapons. After the game, I talked with both players for quite a while and we analyzed the game. Basically, we came up with the idea that -)CummingBurd(- should have switched to Guards while he had sNipeR100's on the defensive with his Muta harassment. SNipeR100's told me later on he wasn't expecting muta, more of a ling/Hydra attack. I think -)CummingBurd(- could have won it if he switched to Hydras or got Guardians. Basically a Zerg cannot sit back and let the 'toss get the best anti-zerg weapons. -)CummingBurd(-'s mutas did very well (and he macroed them very well, too) until psi became plentiful for sNipeR100's as did Corsairs. I congratulate both players on a game well played and thank them for letting me observe/report. This is my first purely observational report and I hope its as good as the others ones where I just describe how I play my own games. I leave you with a sum of all -)CummingBurd(-'s thoughts for the game:
