Game:Half-Life
Arena:A custom one named "New York 2222"
Players:Team 1,Green Death was me(Shotgun_Jack) and Hypno.Team 2,Psycho Son`s o` Bitches were Exel and [ARA]Hypnosphere.Yes indeed,two people are crazy enough to choose gay names with the word Hypno in them.Go figure.
Time:4 hours and 15 minutes.
Weapon`s to start with:We all started with crowbars,regular pistols and via some special programming by Hypno and my gay little brother,Machine guns:)
Weapons to later pick up:Bazookas,Super Shotguns,grenades,crossbows,motion sensors and the dreaded Snark Gun.
Built in obstacles:500 regenerating Marines,25 Alien Grunts,4 regeneration Tanks,2 Choppers,an Ospray(Helicopter/Plane hybrid) with grenades,a group of 5 snipers who were working with the Marines,an ass load of aliens ranging from headcrabs(little ugly thingies that bite your skull)to zombies to laser aliens.
Scores:Green Death won with a combined total of 500 kills on PSOB and 5000 kills on the built in obstacles.PSOB took home a large score with 432 kills on Green Death and 6501 kills on the built in obstacles.
Overview:This started off as a slow commando movie type thing for me and Hypno after we cleaned our base room out.After we made it outside things took a very hellish turn as the marines and other obstacles became more apparent and games pace took off.
Beginnings of an Urban War
As I said earlier this map was custom.It was a map made from actual maps of New York,New York`s Subway system and many of it`s sky scrapers.It took me,Hypno and my little brother a month and a half to build.Then me and Hypno had my little brother finish the programming on it and it was ready for action.The only downside is that it takes an hour and a half to load with a good pc so it`s limited to only a private server I`ll make from time to time called "Jack`s Luv Shack".Anyway after the players dl`ed(which lasted 2 hours on it`s own)we all chose our teams and set about playing the most intense 4 man war I ever took part in.
Me and Hypno started out with loaded weaponry and closed in by 10 marines.Same conditions applied to PSOB.We used an inventive tactic of grenadeering we managed to kill them in the blast radius.This also knocked down the door allowing us to get into the hallway of the Empire state building.We had a difficult task of making our way through a pack of zombies but we did it unscathed.We continued and cleared the building within 15-20 minutes of starting.We then met up with a pair of Alien Grunts.We took `em both down with our machine guns and took their Snark launchers.We then proceeded into the streets where we faced a horrible site of a tank and a chopper waiting to blast us straight to hell.
We managed to distract them with snarks and made it into the sewers where we met up with more aliens.The firefight that insued was quick and brutal but we survived.We found a few medipacks and batteries and waited to recharge.Once at full we made our way through the sewers to a vent where we could crawl into PSOB`s base building.We watched as they got involved in a firefight at a science convention with 20 or 30 plus marines and 13-15 gaurds.The gaurds held their own long enough to get rid of a large group of marines before they themselves were cut down.The scientists caught in the crossfire never stood a chance.As for Hypnosphere and Exel.They survived the brawl with heavy damage.
That`s when we made our move.Me and Hypno took up commando position`s in the vents,busted through and splattered Exel and Hypnosphere on the wall`s of the building without being hit by a single bullet.Exel and Hypnosphere regenerated as we made it back into the streets and headed for the building`s housing the bazookas.We would pick off the tanks and the choppers before nailing the two of them again.Unfortunatley a sniper had different plans and Hypno got nailed with a headshot.I survived and made it inside.I rigged the door with a pair of motion detectors to keep intruders out long enough for Hypno to make it to me through the sewers.
Hypnosphere and Exel were not using team work very well and got taken by the tank in front of their building.I watched them fry and then noticed the little red dot moving on the wall."OH FUCK" were the words I was thinking as backed out of the window. 20 seconds passed before the motion detectors exploded and an Ospray with 15 marines inside flew by the window and dropped them inside.I was caught between a rock and very hard place as they started shooting at my ass.I whipped around the corner and pulled out my hand dandy snark gun and fragged them with it as the regenerating bullets flew around the corners.I then pulled out a bazooka and nailed the guys coming in from the doorway.
Sadly I ran out of ammo and had to resort to the good ol` crowbar.My crowbar and I cleaned house and took down 13 marines before I finally got splattered on the wall.My guts made a very nice decoration to the blue plainted walls though. Hypnosphere and Exel had their base fortified like hell.From what Exel later told me there were 200 motion detector mines at the entrances.Exel and Hypnosphere became quiet adept at anti-tank warfare.
Using their very limited resources they killed all 4 tanks during my last stand against the marines.Me and Hypno reunited in our base room.We found a chopper up top that was about to take off and decided to hitch a ride.It took off and I used my newly aquired crossbow`s sniper site to pick off the little shit who nailed Hypno earlier and stopped me from killing the Ospray.Another sniper who was aiming for Hypno got taken out by a zombie.Not a pretty sight.I got the zombie a couple seconds later with a crossbow to the headcrab.
Exel and Hypnosphere made it to the place of my previous death.They got a bazooka after cleaning it out and gave me this tasty comment as I watched the Ospray get wasted via the sniper scope on the crossbow:
Slut_Exel:See the Ospray go boom.
Hypnosphere:heheheheheheheheh
Slut_Exel:You`r next bitches.
Hypno:go fuck yourself Exel.
With those kind words Hypno proceeded to put a cap right square in Exel`s ass.Literally.He had a sniper pistol.Exel`s ass proceeded to explode and get even more guts on the walls of the building.Hypnosphere fell seconds later with a crossbow bolt to the groin.
The War Rages On
The chopper finally lands and Hypno and I make a clean escape from it.We the rig it with motion detectors and head for safety inside a small department store.Inside a group of zombies and head crabs attack us but we manage to deal with them without much damage.After that the building next to us explodes from a misfired tank shell.Exel and Sphere are goin` at it with a tank.Again.An Ospray once more flies overhead.This time it`s not loaded though.It has a large amount of grenades and a pair of auto turrets though.The Ospray and the tank don`t exactly have good aim so me and Hypno make a hasty exit behind the building.Sphere takes the Ospray out with the bazooka and dodges a tank shot by an inch that rams the store we were in seconds earlier.The store caves in and Exel nails the tank with a very well placed shot from his snark gun.Exel and Sphere are taxed out now as Hypno and I move in for our first real 2 v 2 during the whole hour the game has been going on.
The teams split up as Exel and I battle through the sewers and Sphere and Hypno go at it inside the ruins of the store we were just in.Exel and I are very evenly matched except that I know the terrain.I zing around a corner where theres a hiding space in it.Exel runs after me failing to notice the hiding space.I whip out the good ol` M-16 and bring him to an end a split second later.
The battle between Hypno and Sphere was far more dramatic.It lasted for a good 20 minutes and was like a scene from an action movie.The battle finally ended when a worn down Hypno got fried by a snark.Sphere wasn`t as lucky as I fragged him point blank with a bazooka.His next words were:
Hypnosphere:shit you blew my left nut off
Hypnosphere:dont step on it till im there and wheres the crazy glue?
Shotgun_Jack:uh i dunno
After a breif conversation the battle resumed.Over the next 2 hours the war finally came to an all out confrontation with all fighters.
Da Big One
The battle took place in Times Square.MTV studios felt the brunt of bazooka and tank fire.800 fighters and vehicles converged as the battle raged.It was the biggest war I`ve ever seen.Me and Hypno were up there in the midst where we scored a whopping 498 kills on PSOB.We then fought for our lives as the war raged on.An hour after it began Exel and I were the last two guys standing.We brawled with crowbars only since we were out of ammo and didn`t have any snarks handy.I finally got the killing blow when I nailed him square in the back of the head with my crowbar.
