CHALLENGER WARS
(Theme Music ect, ect.)
Pre-Game: Flint, up and comming General in the Imperial Navy has found rebels on the world of Challenger. Seeking to improve his skills...he sends down an small force of 4 SCV and Command Center to conduct his orders from.
Imperials (Flint): Top position (Terran)
Rebels: Bottom position (Terran)
Early-game: Flint decides to go with the old 8 rax, 9 depot, 10 rax build. At this point...the well known Rebel HolyAnarchy{GK} contacted Flint. Flint did'nt want to respond as he was in early build and did'nt want to take time to write back, but was forced to. Flint damned Holy's eyes, saying, "Will there ever be one day where that rebel won't throw a monkey wrench into my plans? j/k" He orders the training of Stormtroopers while producing more SCV to work on the Imperial mineral mines. Soon he has 2 factories, a comstat, E bay and two tanks, 2 bunkers and a turret covering his choke. A comstat procedes to scout the Rebel choke and discovers he is a massive Turtle with about 7 tanks, 2 bunkers and 2 turrets defending the position. Meanwhile, Flint keeps pumping the marines and comstats to the Rebel mineral expansion on the right side of the map. Flint yells, "What's this??? a CC and 3 scv working away!!! I think not!". After giving a moving speeh to his troops, he is proud to send them into battle. (About 10 marines, 2 bats and 3 medics left the imperial HQ). The expansion attempt was crushed, but the CC escaped by flying over the water. *Flint lights up a massive cigar and preps for mid game*
(Imperial music)
Mid-game: Another comstat is done but this time on the Rebel Island gimmie expansion to his bottom left. Flint screams,"My lord...another expansion!!!" Checking his watch..it had been exactally 2 mins since the last one was crushed. He was an expanding machine. Flint ordered up the production drop ships and set about his attack while seting up mines at the other two mineral expansions. Two drop ships full of marines and medics decended on the position and crushed it. Lord Vader hands Flint the battle report and he begins reading.
Items destroyed: (1 E bay, 1 cc, 5 scv and two wraiths that needed a comstat to be detected and destroyed) Once again Flint losses his temper," WRAITHS you say?...we are unprepared for a wraith attack!!!....I want defences by the mineral line and the choke ASAP!!"
Lord Vader replies, "I will see to it personally, General." Lord Vader takes the lead Scv out of formation and boldly says,"The defences had better be ready in time, Sargent."
The little Scv replies, "Our men are working double shifts as it is...the defences will be in place in time for the attack."
Lord Vader retorts, "I hope so for sake, Sargent. General Flint is not as forgiving as I am."
The shivering Scv replies, "We shall re-double our efforts"
The defences were in place for the attack...and by sheer luck...General Flint was in the right place at the right time. He saw one Wraith fly just inside of the Imperial sight range and knew there must be more...he now knew what side they would be comming in. 12 Stormtroopers rallied to the cause and as suspected, the wraiths tried for the mineral line. The fully operational turrets kicked in taking out 3 wraiths...and the Stormtroopers destroyed about 7 more (Because the wraiths were targeting a supply depot). The remaining two wriaths fled the battle. Flint was quite happy with the battle report as he lost one supply depot(the new target of the wraiths when the mineral line was unreachable) and destryoed 10 wraiths. Flints new plan was to totally leach the Rebels supply of cash and decend on their position by drop ship.
Late-Game: After destroying two more expansion attempts...Flint's island expansion was only partionaly operational (I will get back to that later). Comstating again on the mineral line in the Rebel home soon discovered there were no minerals left. The Rebels Made one last ditch attempt to expand to the island...But Flint's Imperial navy was all over it like a fat kid on a Smartie. An added bonus awaited the Imperials at the Rebel base...his 5 last Scv where just being dropped off to help with the operation. They were destroyed...then the unthinkable happened. The Rebels were Escaping from the world!! (Aka Disconnect Screen...Rebel bastard)...This angered Flint beyond belief!! He vowed to follow the Rebel traitors wherever they may go. They left just as Flint's main plan was about to be put in operation! At this point he had a nuke ready..and was just getting Goliath construction under way. Flint gave himself a pat on the back...but realized his did make mistakes during the game.
Lessons learned for Flint:
- His wraiths were quite annoying...as they would always come to protect his expansions...it never worked...but they would arrive and I had comstat the area. Pain in the ass. Next time somebody goes hardcore Wraiths on me...I'm gonna make about 12 Valks with 2 matrixed SV in tow...and just have them on wraith destruction.
-I really did'nt keep my money on the battlefield. I should have Started Goliaths mid-game and done the massive drop/nuke before he disconnected...but I got obsessed with destroying his expansions. I could have finished him as he was always on defensive...yet I did'nt take full advantage off this. I like this lesson. A Goliath drop/SV attack would have tore him a new one.
-I was so involved with countering every one of his moves...I kinda lost track of the whole point of the game...kill his base when you are in the powerseat.
- I was very happy with my Expansion countering....Maybe it was'nt a disconnect...maybe he hit his comp with a sludgehammer in frustration...I know I get pissed when I am unable to expand.
-I learned many things from this battle and I would love for the chance to play it again...because I would whoop his ass. Oh well...It was only a matter of time before his war machine came to hault without minerals :) . |
