Hey, there, this is derabitz, and I decided I would bring the report of my first ever ladder game to you!

Now, seeing as how I never played a ladder game before, I decide I will make a ladder FFA on what else but -insert drum roll here- The amazing Lost and Found Temple!

As soon as I advertise the game as Ladder ffa 1000 and less, 4 ppl join. On the chat screen I see Mickey, Warmonger, and Predator.

As I press start and the clock clicks down to 0, I see that Mickey have chosen Toss, Warmonger has chosen Terran, and predator and myself have randomned.

But alas, as the game starts, Warmonger is dropped, turning this into a 3-player ffa. Now here, as I found at later, are the starting points, races, and colors.

I(derabitz) warp in as orange Toss at the bottom starting point.
Mickey warps in at the top position as brown Toss.
predator warps in at the left position, white, and also Toss.

Oh great a PvPvP. This should be exciting...

Starting the game, this is my build order:

8 Pylon
12 Dual Gateways
13 Pylon
15 2 Zealots

I send m a probe out to scout, and finding Mickey at the top, I immediately place an Assimilator on top of his gas to slow down his gathering of the all-important Vespene Gas. I the proceed to the left position, find predator with only 1 Gate and 2 Cannons warping in, and decide I won't have to worry abut him.

As my scouting Probe discovered Zealots heading to predator's base, I deduce that Mickey's base is undefended, and I send 6 Zealots at his base...currently my entire force.

While this force is en route, I warp in 2 more Gates, an Assimilator, and a Core, intending to add Goons to my forces. As predator begins to curse, I smile and see what my six zealots will face at Mickey's base.

My Zeals run into 3 Zeals at the ramp of the top starting position, but destroy them quickly as they are not placed closely enough to the ramp to block it. Sending my 5 remaining Zeals in to the base, I encounter a force of 3 zeals guarding his whole base. Note that at this point, my offensive Assimilator is STILL standing. Splitting up my forces, I send 3 at Mickey's
Zeals and send my remaining 2 at the supply line. As my 3 Zealots defeat their opponents with 2 casualties, and I finish off the last probe, Mickey leaves the game.

Switching back to my base, I see I have almost 1000 minerals and 400 gas. Damn! Ordering up 4 Goons, I send my 8 fresh zealots and 2 damaged ones at predator's base in an attempt to end the game quickly. Hoping that he is damaged from Mickey's attack early on, I cross my fingers and send my 10 Zealots in.

My hopes are fulfilled as predator's base is undefended, and he says that all his units were killed in the assault and he has only 20 minerals left. Just in case, I arrange my now 8 Goons at my ramp in a hemisphere pattern, so that I have a high ground advantage over enemy goons, and so I can dance my Goons if any Zeals come up. I send the 4 extra Zealots I have at home towards the right position, but finding no more than 1 Zealot, decide predator is telling the truth, and that he really is dead. This confirmed as my 10 Zealots finish off his Assimilator and "predator has been eliminated" flashes up on the screen. Victory!

Lessons

None for me... I didn't play all that bad! Except that I should make sure I keep producing units.

Mickey- Defend your base! My 6 Zealots should never have been able to destroy an entire base.

Build more Probes- He barely had any, which of course means not enough minerals.

predator- Build more gates and probes- You only had 1 Gate the entire game, and I don't think you had many probes either.

Game Stats

1- Time of Game- 16 minutes
2- Victor- Yours truly, derabitz!
3- Points for Victor- 20,000
4- Points for Losers- 8,600 and 8,000
5- Amount of Minerals it Takes to Build a Probe- 50

Sorry for the lack of pics. I didn't take one all game long. Also, sorry it wasn't a better game. I really wanted to report it. My ladder record- 1-0-0, 1027 rating!
