I was kind of bored sitting in the NoHunters Channel so I created a game for 2v2. Loser_3 entered my game. After waiting a few more moments for opponents we decided to just play a 1v1 since nobody was coming. So the game began...
The map was Hunters. Nothing special. I randomed and warped in at the top left of the map as Terran. I would later discover that my opponent was located in the top right. He chose Terran. I had this new Tank/Goliath rush that I thought I'd try. I built seven SCVs, followed by a depot at my choke, followed by a barrack, then a refinery with 3 SCVs mining it. I built a few more SCVs for minerals and had one build a second depot and another build a factory. After the second depot was completed, I had that SCV build a second factory. I put the machine addon on both factories and researched siege mode. I then began to pump marines. During this I made another SCV to make an academy and then an armory. Once 3 marines were ready to go, I began construction on 2 tanks that I would put in siege mode at my choke. I had the 3 marines scout out my opponent. I discovered him at the top right with an academy, about 8 marines, one barrack,a bunker, and about 10 SCVs. I went in with the marines heading straight for his SCVs. I killed 3 SCVs before my marines' suicide mission came to an end. I noticed he had nothing at his choke so I took advantage. I began pumping goliaths and upgraded vehicle weapons and plating. With 7 goliaths, and 2 siege tanks I made my move towards loser_3's base. I brought an SCV and floated my barrack to his choke as well to get a quick supply of marines. I had my SCV construct 2 bunkers at his choke and filled them with marines.I was hoping to contain him. He sent out about 5 marines to give me some resistance but I quickly removed that threat and pushed forward with my goliaths and tanks. The tanks wiped out the academy and supply depots while the goliaths took out his SCVs and his command center. I then told him good game and he was eliminated.
*Lessons Learned*
1.Goliaths rock!
2.Bunkers and tanks at opponent's siege can be very successful.
