Hello, this is commander Psycho here. I'm ready to give you a briefing of how to defeat 2 intermediate to advanced Protoss players.
Map: Big Game Hunters (Not my choice, I joined the game)
Me: Top Right, red Terran.
Allies: One, middle right Green Protoss
Enemies: Protoss top left(teal), and Protoss bottom left(brown)
I started off with a Protoss partner but he soon fell to the zealot rush from both the two protoss opponents. I had a supply depot block with 3 full bunkers, so I was fine if they wanted to try anything on me. My partner was no more so it was up to me to uphold the name of the Terran Dominion Strikeforce Gemini.
I scanned their bases and realised that teal was going for Dragoons and brown was going for Carriers. I thought this was a very good move on their part, so I decided my only chance was to go for goliaths, tanks, and ghosts with lockdown. I got a considerable number of Goliaths, and about 12 tanks, enough to rip apart even a sizable number of Dragoons. I made sure to keep my opportunities open by using ghosts with lockdown and cloaking to keep myself alive. There are two things you can do in my situation, you can use ghosts with lockdown like I did or you can fight power with power, i.e. cruisers and valks, but anything else is just suicide. The lockdown turned out to be a blessing. I thought about using cloaked wraiths, but if they brought in any more than 4 observers, I would die miserably and lose those brave pilots, so I changed my mind about that. The dragoons weren't much of a threat to me, the tanks held them off easily. Then came the carriers, the ghosts locked them down and the goliaths tore them apart like reavers do to zerglings. I took the quick offensive and dropped tanks and goliaths in teal's base. It took out his nexus, and did considerable damage. I decided that I couldn't just keep holed up in my base, so I took 2 expansion bases, one on the top middle and one on the bottom middle. These payed off. I used the bottom middle to simply mine minerals and I used the top middle to start my air attack force. I built 6 starports in my top middle expansion base. Then I scanned their bases and found they were both going carriers, at that, I knew they were about ready to commit suicide after what happened earlier. I substituted Valkyrie for ghosts and ran them into my base to help defend when it was time. They found out about my bottom middle expansion and that soon ceased to be. They came in with carriers, and once again, ghosts locked them down and I tore apart those carriers with my Valkyrie like nothing more than a whining baby. Then, I pumped out 12 battlecruisers and I went straight for Teal's base. I took him out but he fleed to what used to be my bottom right expansion base. I thought he had holed up in brown's base, so I didn't go looking for him. On my way in to attack brown with 12 battlecruisers that I had pumped out, I found Teal and took him out with a final hoorah. Then it was just him. And before teal left, he quoted, "Psycho, you suck, you will die." and at that, I laughed.
At that, I ran my battlecruisers right into brown's base and left him crippled with only 2 carriers and quite a few blown up photon cannons. Then, I researched EMP Shockwave. That was a savior to me, I killed all my goliaths and valks and just pumped out cruisers, I got to about 16 before I stopped. I brought in 3 science vessels to the bottom right of his base, EMP Shockwaved all his carriers, came in there, and tore him apart. He had no chance in this battle, he wasn't prepared for that. I destroyed him with no problem, and I was about ready to declare victory for the Terran Strikeforce, before he said, "Please, will you allie? I didn't cheat, and I really want a good record." I had seen enough bloodshed for the day, so I reluctantly obliged. Now, go out, and use this young commanders. You will soon be expert commanders and be able to take on even the worst alien slime. Now, let's review what I just talked about.
Things you should have learned: Lockdown is a savior against all large units like carriers. I know that for a fact, it's served me well many times. And when your enemy attacks you with brute force, you don't need to counter it with brute force, just a little more brains than them, i.e. Lockdown or EMP Shockwave. It can help you amazingly. Also, think about what your options are before you just rush into things. And if they attack you strongly, and you defend it off farely easy by doing something smart instead of something stupid, counter their attack, it never hurts to TRY to counter attack even the strongest opponent. And if they're massing certain units, they're highly likely to leave their base defended weakly, so counter attacking is always a good idea. Wraiths are strong, but you have to see what they're PLANNING to do before rushing into it. If I had made wraiths, I would have perished probably by their first attack. And if you're trying to fight force with force and you notice that they're ahead of you in making their units, it isn't a smart battle to continue fighting, it will only be a suicide mission.
