Since I saw that I had drawn zerg, I decided to muta rush. I also sent my 1st lord scouting, and I was relieved to find him at the first place I looked. He did not scout with his lord for some reason. He had an odd build order for whatever he was doing (later he told me it was a mix of drop and air) and was getting a 2nd hatch and den while his lair was morphing. At this time I ran my lord away. Things at my base were running smoothly as my lair was approaching completion. I immediately morphed a spire after this, all the while morphing drones out of my 2 hatches. I did not save up enough larva when my spire finished, because of my constant drone hatching, so I only got out 4 initial mutas. I immediately sent them off to start harassing his drone line. This was partially successful, as I got 2-3 drones. Hydras and mutas came to the rescue, and I got out with a fairly healthy muta, but my other 4 died. I continued hatching a mix of mutas and scourge, while researching speed and transport for my overlord so I could expand.
At this point he exped, and I sent scourge to every expansion on the map, seeing that I could not get his exp. I decided to take a big risk and start 2 exps at the same time (I was gas hungry, and I had almost 3000 minerals in the bank). This was not that bad, because I was pretty sure I had map control, with a couple of scourge and mutas sitting outside his base, and all exp spots covered with scourge. Gas started rolling in as I got my exps going, and I decided to go hard mutas. I'm pretty stupid, so I didn't upgrade. Well, he must have been getting hungry too, and so he tried to exp with dev backup. 24 mutas arrived on the scene, and he was forced to retreat. I had plenty of minerals, so I decided to start yet another exp. with 4 gas mines, I was really on a role. Another exp attempt was made by my opponent, but once again mutas arrived there, this time 36, and annihilated the defending hydras and devs. He did not try to exp again.
With 4 gas mines, I was hatching mutas like mad. I had to transfer all my drones to my exp after my minerals ran out, but I continued hatching, out of 5 hatches. When I was at 173 control, I made 2 guards. Soon I had maxed out, told my opponent so, and attacked his only exp. He had an excellent defense set up, with several spore colonies, but my 60 or so mutas (maybe more) and 2 guards made quick work of it. As a last ditch effort, he tried a hydra drop, but I had made lings with excess minerals earlier, and they (with some muta support) tore through the drop. I then advanced to his main, and annihilated everything. It was not nearly as well D'd as his exp. Of course, B.net had to make me lose connection during the game, and so the win will never show up on my record =(

Lessons (pretty much why I wrote this report):

1. In zerg vs zerg on island, go muta rush. Mutas have excellent mobility in comparison to hydras on island (hmmm. I wonder why?) and can make fast hit-and-run tactics on the drone line, which probably isn't def'd very well (if they r going for straight hydra drop). They can also intercept a drop and forwarn you so you can hatch some lings to counter the hydras. 7 mutas and 12 lings do well against 12 (and possibly 16) hydras.

2. As zerg on island, have a scourge at each exp spot. If u dont have enough scourge (why u wouldn't I dont kno) send a scourge to patrol 2 exp spots. If terran, send a wraith to each, or drop off a marine. If toss, an ob. This way they wont even kno that u kno they are exping, which is a big benefit. Map control wins games, and knowing when u'r opponent is exping and having the means to stop it is how to do it effectively.

3. Upgrade u'r units (I sure dont, but it would have helped a bunch).

4. Having 4 gas mines on island rulez =)
