Welcome to the final round of the NWTR Season 1 Playoffs. The two contestants vying for the title of Champion are Aristocrat-X and Assaillant-X, or as they are better known, King-Lewis and OrcManiac.

I'll say it again just so everyone understands:
Aristocrat-X = King-Lewis
Assaillant-X = OrcManiac

However, before we start the BR I'd like to introduce a few quotes in grand Frenchie fashion(Meaning, I'm ripping off Lewis). However, you should know that these quotes are in no way intended to be funny or entertaining. They have no purpose, although if you ask Bob, he could probably tell you why they imply that A-X sucks. I should also warn that if you happen to be a "family," do not read the below quotes.

LustedSmurf: "i uninstalled it (StarCraft) last week then i realized i lost to silentstrike in tourney play and couldnt stand myself so i installed it again."

Necrosausage: "I don't think your going to find hitler's children on kali"

Mogalin: "I don't mean to sound cocky, but I don't lose often...TvP is the only matchup I ever really lose."

Stranix: "venam(aka: Mage) u fucking suck; i assraped u; u stupid newbie"
Venam: "1v1 for BR?"
Stranix: "nah i already raped u; no need to do it again"

Mr_Dream: "there needs to be a new map sitting instead of melee and ums; BIg fat american setting; so every map has BGH and MAPhack"

HilbstheZealot: * is away "(getting naked with my kitty and jacking off in the litterbox)"

Merlin: "I dont fuck with ppl who dont smoke anymore, theyre stupid."

Merlin: "I have made a decision not to have sex with the hottest girl at my school, i dont care if other guys want to do it, thats their decision, but i'm not going to."

Bob_the_Newt: "those quotes sux; ill offer mine"

The two players chose to square off on the most popular map of all, the Lost Temple. Both players randomed, Lewis drew protoss and Orc wound up getting zerg. If you don't understand the significance of this you better bust out a history book or have a chat with Orc or I, as [Purple] is one of the defining movements of B.net evolution. Once the observers saw the race matchup they made predictions on the game's outcome.

Orc sent his first overlord to the 9:00 position while Lewis began scouting counter-clockwise with the probe that built is gateway. When it came to choosing their respective build orders neither player had yet discovered the others race so they each took a gamble. Lewis played the 2/3 odds that Orc was protoss or terran and started an assimilator shortly after his first gateway. Orc chose to expand to his natural with his 12th drone which put him in a good position vs his protoss opponent.

Once Lewis found out Orc's race he immediately started a second gateway and sent 4 probes and 1 zealot down to Orc's natural to cause some trouble. Lewis's rush arrives just seconds before the first zerglings hatch. The zealot kills a single zergling before it retreats to Orc's mineral only where it is joined by it's brother. They then proceed into battle together and kill all the zerglings. However, Lewis has neglected production back at his base and does not have another wave of zealots to reinforce his attack and he has to retreat back to his ramp in the face of the zergling reinforcements.

To the astonishment of the observers Lewis leaves his assimilator idle during the whole rush period which completely eliminated any possible benifit he could have gained in tech by starting gas collection early. Snakeyez is a strong advocate of Goon/Reaver vs zerg and he believes that it is the best choice whenever you go for early gas.

He eventually does get some probes on gas and starts a cybernetics core so he can begin to explore his tech options. Lewis decides to test Orc's defenses for a second time after building up for a couple of minutes. He sends a small contingent of zealots and a freshly produced dragoon down his ramp and is soon spotted by an overlord watching from atop the cliff. Orc takes advantage of his early warning and starts morphing two more creep colonies and switches from drone to zergling production. The sunkens complete shortly after Lewis begins his attack and he is forced to retreat before causing any damage.

Orc continues powering from only three hatches and begins mining gas from both his main and his expansions. Next he plops down a hydralisk den and an evolution chamber, presumably to research the +1 range attack upgrade.

At the protoss camp Lewis has chosen to start an expansion before completing his tech to storm. He is depending on the aid of 3 cannons, 2 on high ground, to defend his natural from any attack that come before he has storm researched. His first high templar emerge from the gateways as Orc's first hydras hit. Lewis makes the mistake of sending his troops up his ramp which leaves his expansion vulnerable. However, he is luckily able to get back down before Orc can take advantage of the slip up. The cannons prove to be enough and Orc retreats his hydras to just outside Lewis's choke point.

Orc feels safe with his hydralisk "containment" in place and expands to his mineral only natural and shortly after starts morphing a hatchery at the 9:00 main, while teching to lurkers at the same time. However, although Orc's army is spread around the middle of the map, in reality neither player has a clear advantage. Lewis's force of almost entirely ranged dragoons and templars counter pure hydras and lurkers nicely, but he has completely neglected upgrades up to this point. It should also be noted that Lewis has begun construction of a robotics facility, likely because he knows about Orc's Lurker fetish.

Orc's next move is his infamous Natural Cliff Lurker Drop©. He loads 4 lurkers into two of the 3 pre-positioned overlords near the cliff and ferries them up. Once being unloaded the lurkers each scurry to a separate spot just above the minerals and burrow. Lewis already has a shuttle built so he loads up 2 dragoons and lands them on the cliff. He also recalls an observer he had sent out to gather intel from Orc's base back to the cliff.

Unfortunately, the goons unload a bit before the observer arrives and the lurkers get some free hits for a few seconds. Once the observer arrives the goons begin taking out the lurkers one by one, while sustaining minor damage themselves. Orc retreats his last two lurkers to the southside of the cliff and burrows them next to each other. One dies but the last one manages to take out both the goons with 3 hitpoints remaining. What an epic battle! For reasons yet unknown, Lewis doesn't drop anymore goons and Orc decides to keep his lurker to the back of the cliff, not doing any damage.

Well, there continues to be a virtual standoff at Lewis's choke point with neither player willing to venture in or out. Lewis has finally started upgrading out of dual forges, while Orc seems to have stopped after getting +1 attack for his hydras. Orc takes advantage of Lewis's complacency further by expanding to the 9:00 natural. The expansion count is currently 4:1 in Orc's favor, and Lewis is running out of time.

Finally, Lewis decides to attack. Besides the simple numbers game Lewis benifited from a couple of Orc's mistakes. First and most important, Orc was building pure hydras rather than mixing zerglings in with his force. This allows Lewis to get away with going for pure dragoons which really put the hurt the unsupported hydras. Second, Orc's hydras were in poor formation. Instead of being spread around the middle as such that they would all converge at once from on Lewis's army, they were in small clumps on in the path to Orc's base. This lets Lewis engage each small group separately. After losing a good deal of hydras Orc retreats and regroups just north of his mineral only and begins to frantically morph several sunken colonies. At this time Lewis expands to the 12:00 natural and transfers all the probes from his mined out main to the new expansion.

Lewis hasn't been storming much at all, but his goons are still overpowering Orc's hydras and continue to push towards Orc's mineral only. Both players are playing frantically during this critical period and are maintaining production extremely well.

Orc's mineral only falls, as he is not able to catch up to Lewis in production, and his natural soon follows suit. He has now given up on his main and builds a second hydralisk den at his 9:00 base and begins morphing a 4-5 creep colonies at the natural. However, his spawning pool is destroyed before he can turn them into sunkens so he has to start another one. Rather than attack 9:00 immediately Lewis has opted to expand to the 12:00 main and regroup his forces.

Orc starts to build-up again to make one last stand. This time he is including zerglings to counter the dragoon army. He attacks the goons which are holding the middle of the map and they are forced to retreat back to Lewis's natural where more dragoons await and 3 archons are morphing.

Once his archons are completed Lewis moves out to finish off Orc. Once the archons are spotted Orc retreats to the cover of his sunkens while awaiting Lewis's attack. Storms rip through the air and the protoss army tears apart the sunken colonies incredibly quickly. Once the natural has been leveled Lewis proceeds up the ramp and kills the last of Orc's buildings, leaving him as the victor.

Persian: First of all sexy, can you give me the following information: Real name/Age/Location?
King-Lewis: Louis-Philippe Rivest / 21 / Québec
Persian: How long have you known Orc and how did both of you start playing StarCraft?
King-Lewis: I know orc since i was 10, we met when we were young kids at school. We both played WC2 alot so we buy SC the first day it came out.
Persian: How did you learn English and how often do you use it?
King-Lewis: Hehehe i never use it in real life ... we learn it from TV and with talking with u guys on bnet, well we have some english classes at school but that dont help much.
King-Lewis: i still have more to learn ^^

Persian: What were your expectations going into the game? What did you expect the outcome to be?
King-Lewis: Hehe i dont understand the question PP
King-Lewis: lol
Persian: doh! I meant did you expect to win?
King-Lewis: No, when i saw orc zerg i was sure i was gonna get owned. We played lots of games (without obs) and he always own me in ZvP.
Persian: What did you do different this time?
King-Lewis: well i played 2 PvZ vs u b4 that game, and both time u kicked my ass good. I copied u persian! hehe
Persian: I was zerg one of those!
Persian: Okay, what do you think Orc could've done better?
King-Lewis: Well its not really one thing but i think he needed more hatch and more lings.
Persian: True, Snake pointed out that he had way to much money b/c he made 3 ovies at 2 hatches at once.
King-Lewis: I knew i'd win when i killed his mineral only and took 12 natural. I had lots of templars comings out.
Persian: Does Orc always drop lurkers on your cliff?
King-Lewis: Well not really, but i think all zerg are trying some lurk cliff vs a toss. If you aren't ready then that can hurt you so bad.

Persian: Did you think of T_Mac at all during the game?
King-Lewis: heheh whats thta question? wut do u mean?
Persian: Nevermind, scratch that question
King-Lewis: No .... why would i think about t_mac ... it's true he is damn sexy though

Persian: Do you have any other comments on the game?
King-Lewis: Hmm..not really except that toss own zerg, hehe

Persian: Finally, going back and looking at all the people who participated in the NWTR League do you think you should have won?
King-Lewis: yavoon' shouda won this ... thats sad he gave me a forfeit

Persian: Okay, Who's your favorite person on Bnet?
King-Lewis: You mean execpt Orc? He is my best friend in RL
King-Lewis: Hmm i dont rly got any favorite. Maybe Bob, he is so funny and he helped me with my BRs
King-Lewis: Ronin, SCV, Mog, You, Tmac, Ahs, Apex, Snake, Sqi, Kob, Pitt, Necro and Whoop are damn cool too.
Persian: OMG, you are forgetting yavoon! Blasphemy!

Persian: Now that we have that one out of the way, let's move on to a more interesting topic. Who do you hate most on Battle.net?
King-Lewis: OMG, Sp|ne by far. He is such an annoying kid, he only hates me because I booted him of a game cause he was lagging. Since then he just pissing me off, I'm just trying to ignore him now.

Persian: How much longer do you plan on playing BW and internet games in general?
King-Lewis: As long ias i like it ... i dont have any stopping date for now .. i will sure be playing a little less SC when D2 will come out
Persian: SC > diablo, I'm sorry
King-Lewis: Hehe i agree with you but D2 will be new so ill prolly play more D2 at the beginning
Persian: Anything you still want to accomplish while playing Brood war or are you happy as can be?
King-Lewis: Im really happy with my playin level right now and I know I prolly wont get alot better than this. I'm in A-X which I've always wanted to join because they were the only cool clan i know ... and im in now so i just want A-X to be #1 in Kali ladder team.

Persian: Do you have any rolemodels in RL or in the SC world?
Persian: Cheesy question, I know, LOL
King-Lewis: In RL hmm not rly ... in SC world im a Apex wannabe. He is the best player i play with ... even in TvP he can manage to outexpand the toss ... ahscar is very good but apex is amazing
Persian: Okay, tell me about your games with him. You beat him twice, correct?
King-Lewis: Yeah, I dunno how this happened. Hehe, the first game was in the A-X training sessions , it was PvP and i hold his first attack easily enough to counter just when he tried to expand. It was more of a timing luck.
King-Lewis: The 2nd game i was Zerg and he was protoss. He tried to do the korean ladder style of sairs/DT on me. He was annoying with sairs but he didnt have enought temps to stop my hydras.
Persian: Also, tell us what you can about AX's "secret" training. Haha.
King-Lewis: Hehe this secret training has been very exagerated. We were only meeting on saturday morning during a month to play some games againt each others and analyze why we lost and wut we coulda done better.
Persian: What about the stuff I heard about the endurance training, such as running 10 miles every morning? Not true?
King-Lewis: LoL i didnt know that one .. heh its not true
King-Lewis: Man i got a freaking bird in my house &?$(??$* He entered thru the chminey. Now he is hidding in the ventilation system !

Persian: Alright, this is the biggie. Who's better, you or ronin?
King-Lewis: Hahaha I AM ! damnit how can u doubt it hehe ronin is a newbie

Persian: If you were an AX recruiter, who would you choose to add to the clan?
King-Lewis: OMG what a tricky question
King-Lewis: Hehe, you would prolly be one i'd invite the first.
Persian: DOH, I shouldn't be in any of the answers, ppl would think i changed that, kek.
Persian: Who else?
King-Lewis: Gawd, I hate this question
King-Lewis: Noone ! I would really pick you. Your the only one who really giving me trouble in 1v1 in the bnet ppl I know.
King-Lewis: Well, I would prolly ask Mark4 and yavoon' to join if i was a recruiter
Persian: Heh, yavoon joining the alphabet clan. I never thought I'd hear that^^
King-Lewis: Mark4 is (CENSORED), ok, but he is still very good and he always has been nice to me
King-Lewis: I know yavoon' would never want to join, but b4 he left him and Apex were the 2 best players i knew. I was supposed to do a BR of Yavoon' vs Apex-X but yav decided to quit SC coz of school at the time...and he never came back :(

Persian: Anything else?

King-Lewis: Elminster was the funniest ! Elm was really gosu b4 Ultima Online corrupt his mind. I also remember the good days of Ahs mini tourneys on GX

King-Lewis: I knew he was playin with orc so once i log on GX and saw him. I said "hi im orc's friend." He said " OMG orc got friends ???" hahaha
King-Lewis: Orc was playing alot more than me at first. He was playing 1v1 and 2v2 and i was only playing 2v2 with him.
Persian: Okay now for the really sad time, name all the ppl who you used to know, but have since quit.
King-Lewis: Elm, )3east, yavoon' and all the peeps of the "fuall" channel, I don't know what happened to them. Though i saw )3east on Kali the other day, hahaha, the guy haven't changed, he is the best trash talker i know.

Persian: We'd better wind this down. Do you have any closing thoughts?
King-Lewis: Yes, Ronin is a newbie and I hope the league will be back for another season, but with more serious ppl.
