I'm kinda bored right now and decided to actually write a battlereport ( or story )
Now my ladderscore was kinda sad
3-4-0 and i had below 1000
so I thought ah what the hell bgh and other maps gets boring and it would ruin my image ( hehe ) so I decided to ladder again
Now u all must know that most laddergames nowaday are on "fast"
I personally hate that speed
it's like a bad lag
but anyways I joined a laddergame on Lost Temple ( big surprise ) and I decided to stay random
on the last 2 seconds my opponent drawed zerg
I forgot his name but it was something with (prolly a clanname)something
so let's just call him/her Muta
Now I randomed to white zerg on 9:00 and he as yellow zerg at 3:00
I send my lord to 6:00 and proceeded to work on my precious minerals
My build was fairly "normal" i guess
lord at 8/9 second hatch at natural at 10th drone followed with a pool at 11
now at this point a yellow drone went across my second hatch at my natural and went straight to my main. I was kinda worried because we all know the dreaded 6 ling rush and if he charged at me I would be dust.
His drone scouted my main and started a creep colonoy on my creep!
So immidiately i reacted to it and attacked it with 4 drones.
He prolly hesistated to morph it in sunken after i brought it down to 160 hp
so he actually morhped it into a sunken and it died before it was finished =)
So I won the first little bloodshed but since my economy was slowed down for attackinh gim with drones I wasn't in a better shape.
Then it happened ; he charged me with 6 lings however my lord who found nothing at 12:00 and slowly moved to 3:00 catch his 2 last lings walking down the ramp. Again i send 4 brave drones down my natural and had a creep colony morphing. His 3 lings arrived first and attacked my expansion while my 4 drones were almost there to attack
( Notes he never attacked my morphing creep who went into his sunken form ; he just attacked my hatch which was kinda odd ) so my 4 drones and 2 new hatched lings charged into his now 6 lings charging my hatch and i killed 2 lings and then I ran my 2 drones while his 3 lings chased, thanx to this little run my sunken had enough time to morph and finish his attack.
He tried again a bit later but my sunken again repelled his small attack.
At this point i noticed my economy sucked and I was wondering why. Then i saw that my main had only 4 drones mining and my natural had also 4 mining. I then went mass drones to have maximum advantage to cover my early expand. My lord who was in his base when the lings attacked saw no sunken ; just lings and a second hatch in main with a lair hatching. Now we all know what this means ; he was still massing lings and he teched pretty hard so i was expecting a ling + muta attack.
Still i was low on drones and continued getting them and getting gas at natural. After a short while I decided not to push my luck and started an evolution chamber and a hydra den and put 2 creep in main and natural and morphed them in spores in preparation for the muta raid. Att this point my ling that was behind his natural died and i saw creep before it went black so he already expanded to his natural which was also prolly the reason why I wasn't attacked yet.I placed a third hatch at main and started massing hydras. I had a ling patrolling 6:00 to 12:00 and a lord at each island expansion so get a nice view of what he was doing. Then the expected attack came ( but then a lot weaker ) like 8 mutas and like 8-10 lings charged my natural
at that point there were 3 spores 2 sunkens and 6 lings guarding it
His lings died almost immidiately and while his mutas where concentrating on my 3 spores my 3 hydras walked slowly from the ramp and eventually killed his mutas. I quickly rebuild my defences and massed hydras. My income was rolling nicely and after i had 2/2 upped hydras with speed and range attack I gathered them and 3 lurkers with 12 lings at the legendary Lost Temple ( aka middle of the map ) and had 1 lurker defending my natural ( apart from more spores and sunkens of course ) my lurkers moved ahead with some lings but then a ling of his ran by ( a scout 0 followed ith mutas aiming for my 3 lurkers but sadly his mutas turned into hydra food as i ran them back safely.
Then I charged him and expanded to my minerals only and northwest island at the same time but it was not needed since his forces died pretty fast with lurkers/hydras/lings combo and a lord floating above them gazing upon the massive fight between sunkens. After destroying his natural and all his drones mining there i ran up the ramp and instead of sending reinforcement i charged and after burrying lurkers i concntrated on the sunkens and trashed his main.
GG's where exchanged and it was a truly very great game which could easily go the other way if his ling rush was a bit more planned.
Heh sorry for the long battlreport and I forgot to make screenshots also but playing 1 on 1 is really stressing especially with ladder where the gamers are really good and never lose easily without giving a very tough fight
now my ladderscore is above 1k
1015 to be exact =)
