Master versus Shadow v4
Welcome to battle 156846 on the Temple Grounds. Today we have 2
little known StarCraft players. Shadowman321
versus master_jaso. LET THE GAMES BEGIN!
Welcome to Wraithfighter's second BR.
His first battle report was only text and color. But alas, he forgot
his greatest BR weapon, CLARIS HOME PAGE!. By simply copying the html
from Claris HP, he gets what you see today. Any way, let's get on
with it.
Thanks to Spring Break, I have a ton of time on hand. I COULD
spend this time doing something worth while, or i could waste it in
style playing SC!. Obviously I chose the latter. After playing and
watching a few games, I decided to find a game BR worthy. This game
was close enough.
This game was originally supposed to be a 3 way ffa with all
players randoming, but one person left after start. Here is the
Mini-map and players at start of game.
As you can tell, Master_jaso, from
now on to be known as master, got zerg
and ended up at 6 o clock. Shadowman321,
from now on to be known as shadow,
recieved the brave protoss at 3 o clock. I chose terran so i could BR
and got 9 o clock.
After being in an scv duel, one of my scvs, Johnny, survived with
10 hp! I hid him and my cc so the game could be watched easily.
Master did the one thing I was not
expecting him to do. He got gas as his first building. He amazed me
even more when he expanded too!.
Sigh, right now I thought that if Shadow could take the initiative and strike
now with any zealots he had, Master
would lose. I am glad that didn't happen. For a while nothing really
happened. It was scouting and build up. I snapped a few pics of the
ramps but didn't decide to put them in. Soon though, 10 zealots leave
shadow's base to attack master, to see if he could end it fast.
VS
It looked like master would pay for his early exp and gas, but
alas, the early exp and gas actually helped Master because he managed to morph 4 lurkers
by the time Shadow's zealots got there.
The four lurkers followed the zealots home, where they fell to
cannons and those same zealots. Both sides took this time to expand
and build up. This brings us to the first exp count!
The expansion count now is 2 to 1, in favor of Master. But not for long. You see that yellow
dot at the 9 o clock main? That is a zealot. He and 3 other zealots
attack the exp.
Master has a large army under his
command. He could easily send his army to kill the zealots, but he
has a more dastardly plan. He decides to attack Shadow's main head on.
Now truth be told, I have attacked with many more hydros than
this, and these hydros do an excelent job, considering thier numbers.
They encounter a small protoss force, probobly on their way to attack
Master. The goons and zealots retreat
and the hydros follow.
A few Goons and Storms later, the force is estiguished. No cannons
die, and the hydros are just plain massacared. This was the turning
point of the game. Because...
NOW SHADOW IS WINNING THE EXPANSION
WAR!
Shadow now has the lead easily. A
zerg player needs lots of men, and even more resources, to defeat a
toss player. Master realizes this and
decides to attack the new 9 main expansion. I realize this and
shudder, remembering that zerg mutalisks attack with richoches, and i
remember about poor ol' johnny SCV, stuck there.
The Mutalisks waste the cannons with a little bit of damage, and
start on the probes. But new cannons and reinforcing dragoons kill
the mutalisks.
Master does not give up easily and,
thinking he can easily destroy the base, decides to drop a buncha
hydros.
The control group of hydros are wasted by goons, cannons, and a
storm. Two retreat and do something absolutley evil. THEY KILL JOHNNY
SCV!
Johnny got off a fusion cut before he died, and the murderous
hydros were incinerated by more goons. Shadow, who is now in a large lead, decides to
end this. Using the many gateways he has across the map, he decides
to attack with goons and templars. AND he succedes too!
What you see exploding is many guardians, cut up by storms and
goons. The goons march up the ramp and into Master's base, finding little resistance.
This Game was really good. Not much micro, but a lot of
good macro. It was very hard for Shadow
to win, but Master made the folley of
not saving his expansion instead of attacking Shadow's base. Sorry about the pic coloration
problems. I take pictures on a iMac with shift+?+f3. It gets a good
screen shot but not in gif form. Good job to both Shadow and Master.
This has been a report from WRAITHFIGHTER!
