The other day I won in a 2v2 by producing nothing but probes, scouts, and one shuttle.

The first opponent was Zerg. I rushed in with a forge on 9 build order and offensive cannoned him... he tried to defend with sunkens, but in vain because he'd started sunkening up at his front line, and my cannons were behind his minerals. When I started hammering on his lair (it looked like he was trying to tech to guardians to kill my cannons), he quit. One down.

The other was a Terran turtle with tanks. Offensive cannoning didn't work. So I teched straight to scouts and started cranking. And while I was waiting, I got a robo facility and got a single shuttle.

As far as I know, the eight and sixteen probe drops were invented by Mark4. Submitted for your approval: the one probe drop.

My brave probe was unloaded at the east side of his base, where it destroyed an SCV that was just now started an academy. It then started a pylon, hoping to offensive cannon, but a squad of marines came in. The probe escaped in the shuttle, and the pylon was canceled.

I tried the maneuver again at the west side of the base, but didn't even get to kill an SCV this time. Nevertheless, I escaped with no loss of life.

It should be noted that my partner's only contribution to the action was a miserably failed attack of hydras and lings, which succeeded only in taking a few hit points off a depot.

During my second drop, I had noticed three starports, and had a wild guess what that meant, considering the turtling nature of this guy. I had nine scouts by now, with all the queer beacon upgrades, and decided to do a quick flyby. Lo and behold, three brand new battlecruisers! My scouts engaged and destroyed them all while losing only one of their number. They then took up position over the SCVs and began blowing the little bastards away at an alarming rate.

The Terran left.

I had played this game as part of my solid "all losses" record, and I was thus forced to surrender in order to keep that intact (had allied vic off)... how was I supposed to know this strat would WORK? Had a good laugh though.

If I had known how wonderfully this would turn out, I'd have taken screenshots and made a real BR about it; as it is I thought the story was funny enough that a few people might enjoy reading it. ;-)

Happy Easter, everyone!
