[gosu]Seph
and ImGoingPeoNs
were just a bunch of bored players idling in NoHunters, so they
set up a game on The Lost Temple and I observed. :D

Both
[gosu]Seph and ImGoingPeoNs
spawned Protoss. [gosu]Seph started off at 12:00
base, and ImGoingPeoNs
warped in at 3:00 base. I landed at 6:00 base, and
quickly lifted my CC into the corner and blew up my SCV’s. But I wasn’t gosu
enough to blow up my last SCV, so I had to have ImGoingPeoNs
execute it. * cry *
Anyways…
[gosu]Seph and ImGoingPeoNs go for the standard Protoss build.
[gosu]Seph builds a shield battery near his gates, then an assimilator.
ImGoingPeoNs, on the other hand, adds an additional gateway, and sends a zealot
to attack
[gosu]Seph's probe line.
[gosu]Seph, not having any defense, is
helpless to
ImGoingPeoNs' raging zealot. The attack is very unsuccessful,
however, with the zealot getting trapped in between the probe line, leaving it
defenseless to
[gosu]Seph's freshly made zealots.
[gosu]Seph ends up losing
nothing to the attack, while ImGoingPeoNs loses a precious zealot. After the
attack,
[gosu]Seph decides to climb the tech tree and builds a cybernetics core,
citadel, templar archives, a forge, and an extra shield battery at his ramp.
A few
minutes later, ImGoingPeoNs charges into
[gosu]Seph's base, and encounters
resistance at the ramp.
[gosu]Seph's 6 zealots and 2 goons combined with the
shield battery easily overpowered
ImGoingPeoNs' 7 zealots. During this battle,
I was eating a cheeseburger and helping myself to some fries, while amusing
myself with a Superman cartoon. Go me!
Meanwhile,
ImGoingPeoNs builds an assimilator, then proceeds to expand to his natural and
builds a forge. When his Nexus warps in, he maynards some probes to his
expansion and begins mining. While ImGoingPeoNs is biding his time and gaining
the economical advantage,
[gosu]Seph climbs up higher into the tech tree and
builds a citadel, templar archive, and throwing a forge into the fray.
While ImGoingPeoNs is pumping out non-stop goons,
[gosu]Seph sends a couple of freshly
made DT’s into the local goon population.

The goons run back to base with
their tails behind their legs (all four of them). Luckily, ImGoingPeoNs has
begun warping in a cannon to detect the DT’s, and barely deters the DT
threat.

After
seeing the defenses at ImGoingPeoNs' front line,
[gosu]Seph decides to charge
at ImGoingPeoNs with a
mixture of goons and zealots backed up by templar.

At first, it looked as
if
[gosu]Seph was going to win, but reinforcements arrived and
ImGoingPeoNs drives
[gosu]Seph's forces back to base.

Realizing that
ImGoingPeoNs already
has the economical advantage, he begins a Nexus at his natural and mines as soon
as it warps in.
This
botched attack causes both players decide to climb the tech ladder. ImGoingPeoNs builds a robotics facility, and shuttles a probe to
[gosu]Seph's natural
cliff. There, he builds a pylon and begins to cannon
[gosu]Seph's natural

Right
when the pylon is warped in, he is intercepted by a shuttle carrying two goons.

ImGoingPeoNs desperately tries to warp in a few cannons to distract the goons, but are
quickly canceled.
Afterwards,
ImGoingPeoNs begins warping in a Nexus at 6:00
mineral only, guarded by a few cannons and some goons.
After
this attempt to cannon
[gosu]Seph's natural was foiled, both players begin
massing goons in front of their bases. After a handful of goons and templar were
rallied up in front of
[gosu]Seph's
base, he decides to go hunting for some of
ImGoingPeoN’s expansions. Coming across ImGoingPeoN’s recently warped 6:00
mineral only expansion, he decides to take a stab at destroying it, but
encounters resistance. As
[gosu]Seph quickly dispatches the several goons at the
6:00 mineral only, ImGoingPeoNs sends out all his troops to defend his
expansion, and a huge battle breaks out. With a few well placed psi storms,
[gosu]Seph seemingly emerges the battle the victor.

But,
wait! Sound the horns, cuz
here comes the cavalry! ImGoingPeoNs sends another handful of freshly made
goons, and fights off
[gosu]Seph's remaining goons and
[gosu]Seph retreats.

[gosu]Seph decides to increase his production and builds another forge and another gateway.
Then, realizing he is running low on minerals,
[gosu]Seph decides to start a
mineral only expansion at 12:00. While
[gosu]Seph is slowly brooding,
ImGoingPeoNs slowly slinks his way up the tech ladder and builds a citadel and
an observatory, then a templar archives (Although he doesn’t actually MAKE any
templar =\) and another forge.
Like all
good protoss players, they both continually pump out goons as they climb up the
tech ladder. Both players have a pretty hefty army, with ImGoingPeoNs relying on
brute strength and numbers, while
[gosu]Seph relies on psi storms.
As both
players slowly max out their PSI, a couple of
ImGoingPeoNs' stray goons waddle
mindlessly into
[gosu]Seph's goon squad, ensuing a major battle.
ImGoingPeoNs now has 0-2-1 goons, while
[gosu]Seph has 1-0-2
goons. ImGoingPeoNs gains the upper hand in the battle, and quickly eliminates
[gosu]Seph's
opposing goons.

ImGoingPeoNs quickly advances to
[gosu]Seph's underguarded
natural expansion and disposes of all remaining probes. Soon after,
[gosu]Seph
sends a fresh batch of reinforcements to salvage what is left of his expansion.

[gosu]Seph's
army is now in shambles, and ImGoingPeoNs brings another expansion online at
6:00 natural. And to increase goon production, he warps in 3 gates at his 6:00
mineral only expansion, and stockpiles goons in the middle of the map. ImGoingPeoNs now has 2 expansions online, with his natural and main all drained
of resources.
[gosu]Seph decides to shuttle a probe to the top left corner and
begin an expansion there. As his new expansion comes online,
[gosu]Seph decides
to send a control group of goons and some templar to defend his mineral only
expansions. But little does he realize, is that ImGoingPeoNs is hovering outside
his base, ready to strike. As
[gosu]Seph's control group of goons and templar
make their way to the 12:00 mineral only, they encounter
ImGoingPeoNs' large
group of goons. A small battle ignites, as
[gosu]Seph's units unknowingly walk
to their doom.

Seeing the small amount of units that
[gosu]Seph has, ImGoingPeoNs decides to charge right there and then, and encounters very little
resistance.

ImGoingPeoNs branches his goons into two groups, one very large
group and one control group. The control group advances to
[gosu]Seph's
natural, and easily decimates the unguarded expansion, while the rest of the
goon squad advances up the ramp, destroying everything in sight.

Even with gosu
psistorms, and goon reinforcements, the fury of
ImGoingPeoNs' goons are
unstoppable, as they plow through
[gosu]Seph's base.

[gosu]Seph and ImGoingPeoNs exchange a few comments and a GG, before ending the match.
The
outcome of the match actually surprised me, as I thought that the player with
the templar might’ve won the battle. But I guess the person with the most
gateways (ImGoingPeoNs) won the battle. A match definitely worth BR’ing.
