INTRODUCTION
Hello! My name is pkunka. Some of you may have met me before, but most of you probably did not. I chose my name after a mysterious acid-eatin Buddhist bird from outer space (those of you that played Star control 2 will know what I am talking about).
So, the other night I was playing Starcraft at my friends house. He has cable connection, big screen, a really fast computer and all that things that add a lot to persons overall sexyness. Keeping me company was his neighbour, who was really stoned and kept rolling joints one after another. He is Thraddash, spliff smokin bear from outer space.
I kept losing hardcore going random and getting Terrans, then I chose Protoss twice and lost to heavy metal (I have severe difficulties with well done heavy metal). I was getting desperate.
So, I made a decision. After long contemplation, deep meditation and few puffs of thick smoke I found out what I was doing wrong. No random. No Protoss. From now on I will play the nasty, swarmy, verocious, devouring, unstopable and unbeatable ... ZERG!
PRE-GAME
Firmly determined to win or commit seppuku I went to Clan ~nohunters. I wanted to deprive somebody of his private parts or do something equally brutal. But in NH everybody was relaxed, chatting about beginning of the school and such... No way I´ll fight these housewives (they were ignoring my calls “1v1 anyone” anyways). So I went to this public channel called Brood war games and saw that it was full of Koreans. Mmm.... I thought to myself .....a challenge! I began calling for 1v1 and reviving Zerg vs Zerg strategies in my mind (I knew they would pick Zerg). Answering my call was none other than (b_s)bass, a very gosu player, who... well, just happened to be there and decided to please me. So I made a game under my usual pup/pup (pup is the name of my cat who likes to smoke dope too, but I dont let him, coz he goes berserk if he smokes).
I said gl hf, (b_s)bass said ^^ and it was on...

BUILD ORDERS AND STRATEGIES
pkunka
ovie on 8, 2nd hatch near first on 12, pool on 12, 2 more drones, 8 lings, ovie, third hatch in main, gas, evo chamber
My plan was 3 hatch lings with speed and +1 attack to hydras. I put 2 drones on gas and researched ling speed when I had first 100 gas, then with another I started +1 attack upgrade.
(b_s)bass (I may be wrong in some details, but i think it went a little something like this)
ovie, spawning pool and gas at 9, 2nd hatchery, lair, 2 hatch lings, third hatch sometime, spire (u can imagine what follows...)
His strategy were 2 hatch lings to make sure hes not overwhelmed early, to spire and mutas. I never go mutas coz I hate them from the bottom of my heart, since Ive been abused by badly so often. But people seem to like em, and they are pretty effective too. We´ll see.
The game was so fast and full of action that I didnt take any screenshots (I thought about asking smoker to press them for me, but I decided against it). So I added the screenshot of scores and my description.
And now, the time has finally come for the report of the battle, commonly known as the battle report.
The game – a battle for the last extractor
CHAPTER 1 – The spawning
In the beginning, we were spawned. I quickly sent my drones to minerals, built another drone, sent ovie to scout the right position, hotkeyed my hatchery and set rally point closer to minerals. My Thraddash friend was amazed at the amount of things I was doing at the beginning (he is mouse-only, zerg-only, lurker-only player. Whatever the game, whatever the match-up, whatever the map, he will go mass lurkers ^^). I sent my second ovie to left and saw my opponents lings gathering at the ramp, sniffing around eachothers extractors (or rectums for the people with knowledge of medicine). So I left him there to enjoy the view, since he told me off the record that he was a pedophile. I sent the other ovie into his main to check his strategy. When he arrived, he saw gas and a lair in its morphing phase. I was merilly pumping speedlings from 3 hatches and ralliing them to my ramp while researching my +1 attack upgrade. The Korean overlord also invited himself into my base and took position right in the middle of it. The other went to count my lings coz he couldnt sleep.
Then I saw my opponent making spire, so I put down two creeps and checked my upgrade. It was at three quarters. I checked his lings; 16-18. I had 2 and a half c. groups on the way to his ramp, where they grouped. It was time for some action.
CHAPTER 2 – The dogs of war
At the time of first battle I had 36 speedy lings with +1 almost done. He had 20 lings and spire almost done. I dont know whether he had speed or not, coz we never held any ling races and we didnt talk much during the game due to cultural differences.
I charged up the ramp and we both started microing hard. Well, I was mostly struggling to keep my lings grouped and prevent them from trying to find alternative ways to reach high ground since ramp was kinda busy. He microed well and after some time we both had like 8 lings left, but he was still holding the ramp and reinforcing lings from one hatch, while saving six larvae for mutas. Then I heard the message of evolution complete and my reinforcing lings arrived. They quickly slaughtered his remaining lings and charged in. During the battle I made my two creeps into spores at home and started hydra den.
I broke into his base and obliterated his two sunkens and few lings. My remaining lings threw themselves at the spire, while 6 muta eggs were nervously hatching. I killed his spire and his mutas killed my lings. End of first battle (without extractor).
CHAPTER TWO – The birds of war
Now he had 6 mutas and was building 3 hatch lings while rebuilding his spire. I had some lings and was making hydralisks while researching their speed, so they could at least try to match the mobility of the mutas. And oh yes, I noticed I only made one spore, I accidentally turned the other creep into sunken.
His 6 mutas didnt hesitate to pay me a visit and also killed the pervert ovie on the way. The muties immidiatelly focused their spits on spore. One mutie died, but the spore was bleeding badly when 7 hydras hatched. Hydras killed two more muties and the last three retreated. Now I had some time till he rebuilds his spire, so I started massing hydras and occasional lings. I also began hydra range and +1 attack upgrade (I have a fetish for this +1 attack thingies). I thought about armor, which negates the bouncing effect of muta attack and would also benefit lings, but I decide for attack, since its cheaper and finishes faster.
I sent some 16 lings to his base after some time to pressure him a little and to see what he was up to, since I suspected he would be powering hard. I saw exp hatch morphing at his natural on the way, but I just stopped to slaughter his defending lings and run for the spire again. He had more lings at home, but his muties were away (probably on their way to harass me again). So I ripped his lings apart but was left with only 4, so I killed a few drones before muties came to the rescue. And it was a LOT of muties. He had great economy now and mucho muties and expansion developing. That was bad.
CHAPTER 4 – The pressure is on me, baby
He attacked shortly after with 8 mutas and 24 lings at my front door. In the meantime I finished lair and started lurker aspect (but I never made any lurkers). I had some 18 hydras and 16 lings. I baited his lings into sunken range and killed them with my lings and some hydras, while the other hydras focused fire on mutas. His lings died without causing much trouble coz they were wandering around my gosu placed buildings. His mutas followed them soon to Vallhala, where the brave may live forever (and zerglings serve food and wash dishes). I felt good after this glorious victory and moved most of my army below the ramp. I anticipated he would be attacking at the front, so his muties and lings could cooperate. I also thought about expanding and my hydra +1 attack finished.
Then he attacked again with some lings and killed two hydras that were separated from the pack (they were black lesbians and refused to hang out with the shovinist, racist and homophobic pack). But this attack was merely a distraction.
Much to my horror, his muta horde than entered my base from the other side, killed the spore and few defending hydras in three volleys and proceeded to rape my drones. I moved my army back up, chased the muties away and counted my remaining drones. The number was six. After seeing the size of his main muta force I also changed my mind about expanding. I felt like shit. I won all battles and now I was going to lose coz of one stupid mistake. But ...there must be a way... The force started flowing through me hardcore.
CHAPTER 5 – The battle of the extractor
We came to the last chapter of this battle. I was left with 20 or so hydras, same number of lings and no economy or exp. He had buffing economy, mucho mutas and working exp.
I decided I wont give up without a fight. Fighting is the reason for my existence. It is better to die honorable death than to wait for death. I heard the voice of my ancient Zen master in my head, telling me : ”Who won? What? Why is the window open?” No, actually that was my friend, the Thraddash observer, who just woke up from stoned slumber and was trying to figure out who he is, where he is, and what the hell is going on. Then he began to roll another one.
So I charged with everything. Halfway to his base, his mutas entered my town. I took the drones and tried to save at least one of them to make a hidden extractor somewhere, but I couldnt. The mutas began the slow and painful process of razing my buildings. I, on the other hand, slaughtered his lings, his exp and began to work on his main. I focused fire on each building to raze it as quickly as possible. After some undisturbed razing a control group of muties came to rescue and some new lings hatched, but they were no match for my +1-speedy-ra(n)ging hydralings. I finished his main quickly then went back to his natural, razing a morphing hatch on the way. While I began working on his rebuilt expansion, I checked my main. 8 mutas were destroying my evo chamber, which was the only building left except for the extractor. Mutas destroyed my evo chamber just as I destroyed the new exp hatch and we all started on extractors, the last two remaining buildings on the battlefield. And his fell first. I checked mine – 40 hp left. Then I held my breath... he couldnt have another building somewhere...
Then came the message: (b_s)bass was eliminated.
Then came the victory screen.
EPILOGUE
So that was it. It was over. The end of the most intense and exciting game I ever played, that could as well ended diferently.
I started jumping around the room, screaming and dancing my victory dance. My Thraddash observer was rofling when he saw my monkey-like dance, then we smoked one together. Later I went back to bnet and owned some more. My honor was saved.
I came across (b_s)bass later that night. Since the end game was so intense, we didnt say gg to eachother. So I whispered him :” That was a good game, wasnt it? ”
His response was :” ^^ “
