Give me that Expo!

Players: [o]Famous1 and [Faith]Rekrul

Type: 1on1

Map: Lost Temple

Game: Starcraft: Brood Wars  

            Both players went random Famous1 got Protoss at 3 o’clock and Rekrul got Zerg at 6 o’clock. He immediately sent his ovi to 9. Famous chose to get a early pylon at 7 control which he warped in below his nexus, he then warped in his first gate of the game at 9 control, he then sent his probe to 12 o’clock. Rekrul early expanded at 10 to his natural and morphed a poor drone into a pool at 12 control (you evil, evil man!)

             Famous got another pylon at 11 control and another gate was warped in beside his first one at 13 control. By now Rekrul had sent a drone out scouting since his ovi didn’t find anything, famous also sent his probe scouting 9 and 6 since there was nothing at 12. Rekrul microed is drone well in order to see all of famous’ base, famous also microed at Rekrul’s base, when he saw the early expansion and the not quite finished spawning pool he sent the 3 zealots he had made, but by now Rekrul had sent an ovi to famous’ cliff and it saw the zealots going by as it passed.

             Rekrul’s pool had just finished and since he saw the zealots he started six zerglings. Soon after that the expansion finished and a long came the 3 zealots that rendezvoused with the probe that had recently finished its scouting mission. The zerglings finished and were sent to help the expansion that was being attacked. I took a few screens but forgot to take lots…. Anyways, the zerglings attacked the zealots and when they were going to loose they were retreated until reinforcements were made, Rekrul eventually pushed famous away, and managed to keep his expansion. 

During the attack Famous took the liberty of making a expansion, getting a forge and a cybernetics core. It now looked like he knew that Rekrul was going mass =].   

            Rekrul countered the early attack with about 18 zerglings, and Famous hadn’t gotten his expansion going yet so Rekrul managed to attack and get up the ramp when famous tried to trick him into going towards the almost finished cannons at the expansion. Famous realized his mistake when he saw the zerglings go up the ramp, in what he thought was a attempt to kill the probes. Actually all Rekrul was doing was trying to take the top of the ramp so it was easier to kill the zealots. THEN, he went to the probes, and killed most of them before he died. Rekrul was now going full hydras and max upgrades, and also expanded 5 times so far, twice at his main, twice at his natural and once at his “mineral only” expo. He also expoed to the left.  

             Famous was busy turtling in, getting his expo going, and making temps. He was also upgrading his units. He decided that he needed another expo so he went and expoed the top and also sent 24 zealots and a few temps to the middle getting ready to try to attack Rekrul. Unfortunately he was ambushed from all sides by the zerg player (no he doesn’t hack he saw with the hydras that were there that got killed). It was a long microing battle but Rekrul prevailed due to mass of the brood. 

Rekrul then scouted the top and found famous’ expos. Both players immediately sent units there. But once again the Mass of the Brood won and Famous’ expo was denied and he was confined to his base. 

He then started a Robotics Facility which looked like a last effort to expand the corners (even though Rekrul had ovi’s at both of the islands).

             Rekrul’s hydras were 2:2 now and Famous’ units were 1:1. Rekrul’s bases looked like this:   

and it was ovious that famous’ was pretty much screwed. Once he got a shuttle he sent it to the top left hand corner and started a nexus. Of course the ovi was there and it saw it. Rekrul sent his hydras to kill the expo, and I was disappointed cause with that famous said: GG and left =[.

My notes: I was a little dissapointed that the game didnt end, but it happens.
