"Don't really get the game and this monitor is darker than my dog's ass (if you need to ask...) but I'd still give it a 9 on account of the high writing quality."

There is no unreadable font in this report for once. There are, however, eleven images, which total about 4.89 MB. Have a nice day.

There's the usual pregame stuff. I would like to quote Rumpelstiltskin's "Once upon a time blah blah blah nohunters blah blah blah gogogo," but I can't because this won't give you time to download the pictures. Instead I am forced to search for larger words to force you to read longer on this part. Unfortunately, I am unable to come up with many of these due to my low level of vocabulary. Instead, I urge you to go bleach your hair blond, and do as follows:

Rinse and repeat until the thing in the status bar reads "Done." Very good! We are now ready to begin...

The Appetizer (Intro/Build-up)

The players:

LuckyNewbie:P - Played in my last sucky BR. Also, has recently released a "9" report that can be found...well I'm not online as I am writing this so I can't link to it, but it was very good! - He randomed to Teal Terran at 12, which always seems to happen to ME!

Taolin - Don't know much about him at all...so anyway, he picked zerg and spawned a purple hatchery at 9 o'clock.

~i~Dragon - My fellow observer, he needs to learn to micro more. Due to the fact that it was melee, we had CCs and stuff, so we sparred our SCV's, with mine coming out on top with 40 HP left.

-[-|-]- - This is me, under my name for observing melee games because it requires taking forced losses. Not like I care about my record...

The Map is The Lost Temple, as the title suggests. Let's get started...

LuckyNewbie:P starts out with some sort of tech build. He makes a depot, and after sending an scv to scout, a barracks, gas, and another depot (walling in). He then follows with a factory, another barracks, and a starport.

Taolin elected to go with an expansion hatchery, followed by a pool, another hatchery, and an extractor.

About this time, LuckyNewbie:P's SCV finds Taolin's main, but is promptly raped by a pair of zerglings. Seeing the scout, Taolin immediately starts his lair, as his overlord has just arrived at LuckyNewbie:P's base and seen the starport.

The Soup and Salad (First Blood)

LuckyNewbie:P has just produced his first wraith and is working on a science facility. The wraith arrives at Taolin's main just as his spire is started. The wraith succeeds in killing three overlords before being taken down by six newly hatched mutalisks. It is notable to mention that Taolin has been quietly massing zerglings while he was teching.

LuckyNewbie:P proceeds to add an academy and an armory in addition to a bunker near his supply line. He then marches an army of eight marines, one vulture, and one tank to Taolin's base. Taolin fights off the incursion, killing four marines and the tank while losing two mutalisks and about 12 zerglings.

LuckyNewbie:P responds by adding another barracks and an engineering bay. Taolin waits until he has ten mutas and rapes the remainder of LuckyNewbie:P's force. As they turn tail and run, the mutas follow them to the terran base, only to be greeted by the bunker at the supply line and this:

The mutas proceed to turn tail and run due to repairing scvs. Taolin then slaps down a hydra den and a queen's nest.

The Main Course (Duh!)

LuckyNewbie:P, unhappy with the assault on his main, proceeds to send another force down to Taolin's base.

As you can hopefully see in the top picture, a scouting zergling has revealed LuckyNewbie:P's containment. Let's see what happens.

As you can hopefully see, Taolin's enormous number of mutalisks overwhelms LuckyNewbie:P's army. Taolin follows this up by expanding to his mineral only and the 3 o'clock main. My fellow observer also gives his analysis of the situation.

The Dessert (The end of it)

Now, Taolin has reached hive level and adds another hatchery, an evolution chamber, and begins morphing his greater spire. ~i~Dragon~ proceeds to point out what LuckyNewbie:P is doing...

Taolin has now morphed three lurkers, and they begin skittering towards LuckyNewbie:P's base. Upon arriving and seeing nothing at the natural, the lurkers back up and siege up...I mean burrow. The thing that probably cost LuckyNewbie:P the game besides bad scouting is the lack of a tank right now. Taolin has begun morphing six devourers and six guardians to go with his six mutalisks...

MINIMAP UPDATE:

The hammer is now falling. Taolin moves his force to LuckyNewbie:P's base. He takes out the lone science vessel with scourge, and the turrets with guardians, and as LuckyNewbie:P doesn't have a comsat, this proves lethal as the lurkers start raping everything. The guards and devos proceed to assault the choke directly.

The Check (Scores/Lessons)

Scores:

Lessons learned:
  1. Be flexible. If LuckyNewbie:P had used a few irradiates, he would have won.
  2. Scout Scout Scout. If LuckyNewbie:P had seen the lurkers, he surely would have had at least a comsat. Also, if he had seen the massive air force, he would have had better counters.
  3. Don't forget to expand! LuckyNewbie:P didn't expand all game, while Taolin expanded three times. Don't let your opponent power like that!
  4. Collages are hard to make. I had to use lots of black-space filler...and MS PAINT SUX (Except when Jamellan is using it).
Well, that ends this battlereport. See ya soon!
