Lifetime Rating for StimmedCorsair: 3.0000 |  | *Sigh, this is more of a rant than a BR, give it a 1.0 if you want* Hanging in NoHunters, A couple guys from [D1] clan show up and ask for 2v2. I figure what the heck and get a random guy from nohunters (forgot your name) to play. IT was on temple, I went random and got zerg, at 12 o clock. My partner chose toss, he ended up at 6 o clock. The [D1] guys went random I think. One was terran, 9 o clock, other zerg, 3 o clock. As my overlord found him and his found me, I saw a pool with 600 hp done or so, while my hatchery was about done and my pool just starting. I was like OMG zling rush! Lame! I get up a sunken by my minerals and by the hatchery at my choke. The lings tear my pool down but they die and I get a second pool and crank drones. My partner sends me a couple zeals.This time 18 zlings show up and some random M&Ms, like 12. Ok, game over, enough, done. I was really pissed someone went 7 pool rush in a 2v2. Double rush is valid, but such a cheap ass early one? I thought it was a friendly game? After the game, DaKlown[D1]said "you double hatched, you deserved it." First of all, he early pooled with NO KNOWLEDGE of me double hatching. For all he knew I coulda pooled also, but no this is what he says to me. After the game I ask the zling rusher to a 1v1. He says fine, Damage[d1] says hes gonna own me bad, blah blah trash talk, whatever. I go random, pull terran, 12 o clock, on temple. He picks protoss and gets 6 o clock. TvP, great, imbalance is against me. I play, do a typical terran build, 8 supply, 10 rax, 12 rax, refinery. I get a fast factory then plop down turrets and an academy. I scan him and see a citadel and a temp archives on the way. I plop down a turret and not too long after a dt walks thru and dies but a second gets through. Np I had turret and bunker perfectly placed, no dt win for him. I make some tanks, tech to vessels, expand, he expands sooner than I do, and I get a dropship, and load it up for cliff siege, 3 rines, scv, tank. I scan his cliff, lo and behold, like 3 goons and a high temp. Great. No siege fer me. He has a flurry of zealots goons cannons and temps guarding his exp. I ask all of you great terrans I hear about all the time, fill me in how terrans are supposed to attack this? You can't make enough tanks and get sci vessels AND expand to attack in time. Cliff siege is about the only option, and it was blocked. Bah. I had all the expansions mined with vultures, and he is expanding at 9 o clock natural. He has goons and templar on the cliff here also. Dammit. What am I supposed to do? Someone help me! 10 minutes later 8 carriers fly in and mop me up, to make a long story short. Not enuff gas for ghosts and lockdown. I know I was really vague here, but I am very pissed, not so much for losing but because afterwards he said I was a stupid newbie and more trash talk, blah blah. I told him if our races were switched the same thing would have happened, he couldnt have done any better than I in the same situation. He told me not to go random. I was miffed about this, excuse me for trying not to be a one race wonder. I wont continue, this is a br section not rants =p
Lessons!
1.TvP is hopeless. I hear wonderful stuff from Vegas,Mark4, and a few others about their war stories of Terran victories over protoss. But these guys are HIGHLY skilled. I consider myself to be above average, and the TvP match is hopeless for me, someone of equal skill can beat me easy with protoss, and he same goes for me being protoss, him terran.Although the imbalance isn't as bad as some people say, *cough*PR()T()$$*cough* ;]
2.Maybe try a more aggressive cliff siege. Maybe I could get 2 or 3 drops and dump 4 or so tanks with M&M backup on the cliff, instead of a one dropship version?
3.Mines are great for watching expansions, but not for containment, IMO. It just hasn't worked for me.
4.This BR sucks because I'm mad =[
5.12 o clock on temple sucks for terran, I needed 2 comsats!! |
