"At home four zealots came wandering past my choke point, took one look at the wallin, asked T_Mac for danger pay, didn't get it, and contented themselves with scouting my natural and then going on strike for better wages. I think they might be still there, waving signs and chanting 'For Hire!' Alright, so that pun sucked. Work with me here people. It's past midnight." -Fractal_Wave

Khas'andro: The Coming of the Zerg
Before the Brood Wars and before the Zerg invasion of Aiur, the Protoss were a powerful entity in the sector. They watched over the other species in their sector of space in silent vigil. The teachings of Adun had brought the tribes together and the tribes worked together to ensure prosperity for their race. This peaceful existence would not last long as an ominous cloud hovered over the terran worlds. The Zerg had come and with them they brought destruction and chaos. The Protoss Conclave ordered Tassadar to investigate and destroy any Zerg presence found by any means necessary. Among the ranks of Tassadar's troops, was a young soldier named Khas'andro. He had completed the first steps in the teachings of Adun. He was inexperienced in the art of war and was anxious to confront the mystery of the Zerg. Tassadar received his final orders from the Conclave as he set to depart to the terran sector.
"En taro Adun. We wish you well on your expedition Tassadar. The Zerg must not be allowed to reek devastation upon the worlds we have vowed to protect."
"I understand and I will not allow the Zerg to destroy the terran worlds. Any Zerg forces will be eradicated and no terran world shall fall."
"We are glad to you are so confident, but we have grave news. The terran worlds have begun to collapse. Whole planets have been devastated by these foul creatures and all the inhabitants have been killed."
"I do not understand? Why have the terrans not defended their worlds? Are they unaware that they are under an attack?"
"It is uncertain if the terrans are aware of the deadly presence that lurks among their worlds. Even so we must stop the Zerg from strengthening their foothold in our sector. We must eradicate the Zerg and the planets they now control."
"What would you have me do?"
"We want the planets that the Zerg have occupied completely incinerated. Nothing can be allowed to survive."
"Incinerate the planet? But what of the terrans, they will see it as an act of aggression."
"It is for their own good Tassadar. If we use such extreme measures, it is unclear as too how powerful the Zerg will become. You have your orders, we expect them to be carried out. May Adun be with you."
Tassadar left the Conclave confused and full of questions. He had never disobeyed the Conclaves orders and yet he felt that the actions of the Conclave were harsh and against the ideals of being a guardian over the terran worlds. He left Aiur with an unshakable feeling of doubt. On the way to the terran sector he was confronted by a young soldier named Khas'andro. Khas'andro had heard the stories of Tassadar and his bravery on the field of battle. He had seen Tassadar, but never was able to talk to him. Khas'andro was nervous and tried his best to contain his emotion.
"En taro Adun Tassadar. I am honored to have finally served under your command."
"En Taro Adun young Khas'andro. It is good to see such enthusiasm in a soldier. I have no doubt that you will indeed be a fine addition to this fleet. We will enter the terran sector soon, so be wary of any Zerg presence. Adun be with you."
Tassadar continued onward towards the bridge and Khas'andro continued to feel lightheaded. He had just spoken to one of the greatest Protoss warriors ever. It was a definite rush and Khas'andro would remember it forever. Tassadar dismissed the meeting as soon as it ended as an internal battle raged within him. He did not want to obliterate the terran worlds, but the soldier within him said to obey his orders. The fleet arrived in the terran sector and sought out the first of the terran worlds the Zerg had overrun. Orders to incinerate the planet were carried out and the Protoss warships charged their weapons.
"All ships prepare for orbital bombardment. All weapons, begin charging and fire onto the surface. I want a full spread fire and keep firing until every living thing is dead."
The cannons buzzed as they charged their energy levels and the hum filled every ship. A cold silence fell over the Protoss as the cannons finished powering.
"Fire at will."
The cannons rained a hail of energy down upon the terran world. Fire and smoke consumed the surface as the ships continued to gorge the surface of all life. The Zerg already on the planets surface were consumed by fire. A tidal wave of heat and destruction lay waste to anything in its past and the planet heaved its last breath. Tassadar looked upon the charred ember that was once a world and knew that this was not the way. Still he continued onward towards the second planet of Mar Sara. It too would meet the same fate as its sister planet, but now the terrans were aware of an alien race in their sector. A small fleet was sent to defend Mar Sara but they were no match for the enormous fleet under Tassadar's control. The terran commanders issued a warning hoping that the alien fleet before them would leave peacefully.
"Attention alien fleet, this is the commander of the Confederate ship Baker. Stand down or we will open fire. I repeat, leave this sector or we will be forced to fire."
Tassadar looked at the small fleet that stood before him and could not continue onward. Destroying Zerg was one matter, but eliminating a terran fleet to do it was unacceptable. Tassadar ordered his fleet to withdraw, even thought he knew that the order would be seen as treason. The ships left the terran sector and Tassadar issued a final order to his fleet.
"Today I have disobeyed the orders of the Conclave. I can not ask you to pay for my mistakes. Many of you have served alongside me, both faithfully and honorable. Many of you also have your entire futures ahead of you. Therefore, if you wish to return to Aiur, I gladly will allow you to go. For those of you who wish to remain by my side, I am grateful for you company."
Khas'andro was now faced with a true dilemma. If he returned to Aiur, he would be abandoning his hero. If he stayed, he could risk dishonor and banishment.
What should Khas'andro do?
Go with Tassadar or return to Aiur????
You decide.
