A ZerG~LinG Production
Gosuness... the eternal search for it... A rating on your battlereport... yet another eternal search, or is it? No it isn't! The last few weeks, a little more life came back to br.com, a great WWI report, and some strange guy fan fictioning his ass off =) anyways, i have a vision... maybe its because my partner just allied and visioned my, OR maybe its more like a dream, a dream were a guy like Mark4 would make a new report. Wouldn't it be great? If he(or another gosu reporter) just walked into NH, obsing a game, and actually BR'ing it! Im sure it would double site hits for year(or maybe just days). Oh well, we can all dream, can't we? =)
How it all began...
As i logged onto b.net after my last report I felt ready for a game, going to Clan ~NoHunters, after playing some in my home channel, there I found a guy with a somewhat...lame name, yes indeed it was 4PooLOwnSYou... i asked for a 1v1 and he replied with an intelligent "ok". The game was made, and were underway!
Map, Players and Build Orders
Jungle Story!
 Jungle Story is a 128x128 jungle tileset map. It has 4 start positions, in each of the four corners. A natural without gas, and a high ground natural with gas. In the middle is a huge free expansion, it has around 16 pathces and 2 gas.
ZerG~LinGis a random user, a battlereporter, and an all around hasu guy. His biggest starcraft accomplishment would probably be a dual Infested Terran build he once did. Also important is his ability to format drive C: and installing Windows versions that doesn't work. Go Go Bill Gates.
4PooLOwnsYou(now known as 4PooL)chose zerg for this game, and a zerg user in general. He visits Br.com but doesn't write any report (MUAHHAHAHA loser) his interest include laughing at my struggle wiht bengalaas and being a good mannered guy. His AKA is ThanatoZ (am i supposed to know this guy?)
Build Orders
In the bottom left: LinG starts with a pretty usual anti-zerg strat, 8 pylon, 11 and 13 gate. massing zeals.
In the top left: 4PooL decides NOT to make his signature move (his name) and instead build a 11 expo hatch, while adding a pool at 12 and then massing hatches[?] and sunkens.
HatchWall=Gosu?
While LinG masses his zeals, 4PooL builds 2 extra hacthes at his natural, and adding sunkens behind. Soon, LinG grows tired of the waiting and orders his zeals to go. Upon reaching the natural, LinG uses his mater tactical mind to attack move 10 zeals into 4 well placed sunkens, and lots of lings. The attack proves futile, no damage was dealt at all, while LinG lost one zealot and retreats to his main.
4PooL now attacks with a small zergling force, not doing any damage at all, 10 lings fall to LinG's zeals. 4PooL is teching away in his main, a lair and queen nest is morphing.
Around this time LinG finished his speed zeal tech and moved his 12 zeals to the natural entrance again. After eating a donut and four pieces of printer paper, LinG has powered up his brain, he finds a small hole in 4PooL's defence, just under his hatch/sunken defence. The zeals are ordered through, losing one to a sunken that was to close. As he puts his zeals in position up against the screen wall, 4PooL attacks the zeals. LinG makes a mistake and is lured away from the dge of the screen, allowing the lings to sorround the men and kill them.
Aha! so scouting CAN be useful...
While the attack was underway, both players expanded. LinG at his mineral only natural, while 4PooL made a double expand, at both the main and natural at top right. LinG manages to scout the zerg expansion (only the natural) and throws 4 zeals at it. 4PooL reacts quickly and sends a sizeable ling force to defend the morphing hatch. The hatch is killed before 4PooL can help, but that's not his biggest problem, once again 10 zealots runs through the "secret entrance" and kills a few lings before they run deep into the zerg base, and finds the tech, before getting killed by more lings.
For some reason or another, 4PooL never manages to make full use of the top right main. Only few drones were made, and therefore 4PooL couldn't out rescource LinG. But LinG was far too busy to think about income now. Seeing the spire, and hive, he fears guard/muta/devourer and begins two stargates.
4PooL totally neglects his new spire tech, and just gets his cracklings tech done. LinG meanwhile expands to the bottom right, adding a two gate, three cannon defence. Suddenly a small corsair fleet (6) leaves the toss base, LinG expected a muta or something attack, but now he might as well use his sairs. They fly in and absolutely crush 4PooL's supply count. Only when two spore colony's are erected, sairs are driven away.
The plot tightens...
In the confusion of the previous sair attack, LinG sends 12 zeals to the top right main, the expansion is destoyed. By now, 4PooL is pissed, pissed of having a lame name (maybe not) pissed by the constant attacks. So he launces a massive attack on LinG's natural. The 3-2 upgraded lings rush in, but gets killed by the zealot+cannon defence, but soon, more lings attack in the incredible gosu "straight line" formation. The xpansion is brutally slaughtered, with LinG having to flee back to his main were he holds ground.
4PooL doesn't hesitate to once again prove the power of 8346 hatches pumping lings, and he once again uses his attack-move skillz by sending his army towards the bottom right main, LinG's only working expansion. The ground shakes as the 50+ lings slam inot around 15 zeals and the three gosu placed cannons. It looks like its gonna fall, but wait? Is it a plane? Is it a pnk eyed br.com reader? NO! it's a probe! The dangerous probe help to reject the attack and wiht 3 burning gates left, LinG is safe...For now...Suddenly, the second wave arrives BANG! Once again the probes rush in and help, and AGAIN the lings are driven back. But dreams doesn't last forever, and neither does probes. With the next wave, the expansion is razed...
Was that the end of LinG?
Maybe you are wondering why LinG didn't reinforce his expansion? So was 4PooL, so he sent his next elite wave of lings to the toss main, on the ay, they caught up with LinG's new forces, i'll let the pics explain the rest...
The archon/zeal combo, now at 3-2-1 upgrade, quickly dispatches all of 4PooL's forces, even his new expansion in the middle gets it up the royal arse.
As the pics says, GG a nicely fought ZvP, best matchup ever! On a side note, this is actually the second writing of this game, the first one i did got lost when i had to revert from WinXP(which sucks) and back to WinMe(which rules), before i formatted, i made sure i safecopied pics and text...or did i? Well, not the text anyway :( Anyways i think my second writing was alot better, but some details on BO's and such may not have been correct, i dont have the replay anymore.
