Day 1

Our brood has touched down on the planet "rivalry", resources are low and my forces consist of only 4 drones at this point. The planet appears uninhabited and it shall make an excellent site for the reconstruction of my once glorious brood. Our brood currently situated in south westerly corner of the main continent. I have sent an overlord north to scout the lands for intruders as a precautionary measure.

Day 2

The brood is thriving, their are now plenty of drones harvasting minerals and I have decided the time is ripe for expansion. I have ordered a hatchery to be morphed at a nearby resource node, situated beneath the cliff face of our current mining location.
5 hours later
Events have taken a turn for the worse, an enemy SCV has entered our territory and proceded to begin construction of a refinery on our only geyser. I have ordered a spawning pool morphed for the breeding of combat troops. I shall not surrender the planet to an inferior species such as the terrans!

Day 3

After yesterdays events I have dispatched a drone into the east to find the precise location of our foe.
1 hour later
The terrans have created a blockade using a supply depot and a barracks, it is an ingenius manoeuvre that has prevented us from gathering any recon about our enemies weapons capabilities. I have decided, however, that as long as the enemy remains in their base we are safe for the time being. For that reason I have delayed the production of extra combat troops. Instead I have ordered that another expansion be morphed at the resource node to the north of our main mining base.

Day 4

We would need gas if their was to be any chance of defeating our terran foe! I hatched 4 zergling warriors which proceded to destroyed the terran refinery, I then ordered an extractor to be morphed on the geyser.
Futher scouting has shown that the terrans have no intention of going on the offensive in the immediate future, what they are up too I wish I knew. Nevertheless I am confident in our ability to defend ourselves when the time arises, and I have every intention of making use of the valuable time the foolish terran commanders have given us. I have ordered yet another hatchery to be morphed in the north-western corner of the continent, I will create a swarm to rival that of kerrigan herself!

Day 5

With the influx of gas I have ordered that a hydralisk den be morphed, these fearsome warriors shall go toe to toe with our enemies infantry!
1 hour later
A scouting zergling has detected enemy troop movement! A squad of infantry with a tank in support are on in transit to the south-western corner of the map. This does not bode well and I have ordered all available larva to be morphed into hydralisk warriors, I have also funded research into increasing the range of our deadly warriors. Despite this I do not think we will be able to hold without static defense in the form of the 2 sunken colonies I have ordered to be morphed, I hope they are completed in time.

Day 6

The terrans attempted to cross my bridge but were driven back by stout resistance from my hydralisks and zerglings. They have set their tank up in seige mode and our sunken colonies are being bombarded as we speak. As soon as those sunkens fall they will be free to cross the bridge with only hydralisks as resistance.
Our hatcheries to the north have come online and are mining full swing! More and more hydralisks are joing the ranks and our war machines is well and truly in motion now!

Day 7

The sunken colonies fell and the enemy crossed the bridge. The terrans were reinforced by an additional seige tank which took up position on the bridge. I engaged the enemy and found to me horror that they were constructing a bunker on our side of the bridge. I slaughtered all but 3 of the terrans marines but by then it was too late, the bunker was finished and I was forced to withdraw!

I withdrew all my drones from the expansion and sent them north so that they could continue mining. Although the enemy had my bridge well and truly locked down my mobile ground army gave me map control, they must suspect expansions or is the enemy deluded enough to think they have me against the wall? Only time will tell!

Day 8

The terran commander re-positions his tanks so that they are able to fire upon my hatchery. I have had about enough of this and make one last attempt at taking the position. My hydras move in and killed a few marines but reinforcements, tanks fire and a constanly repaired bunker deter me and I retreat after taking a few casualties.
I need technology to counter this crafty terrans tactics and order that my western hatchery be morphed into a lair, soon the balance of power will shift! The swarm is mining faster than I am able to make use of the minerals and I order a new hatchery at the northern location, I also begin morphing another hydralisk den at my North-Western base out of fear my other den will be razed.

Day 9

The time for defense has passed, the brood is now in a good position to go on the offensive and I intend on making my move. I order my hydralisk swarm to head for the terran base via a large detour around the tank push, also begin another hatchery at the north-eastern position.
Events take a drastic turn for the worse however. A squad of infantry arrives walks into my defensless base in the north-west. I order my hydralisk army to the base immediatly! My army arrives and slaughters the terrans, not before many valuable drones were killed however.

Day 10

The terrans were not finished with that offensive, it was only the begining. The terran commander marched into my my south-western base and proceded to raze it to the ground. The only resistance provided was by 6 hydralisks that were buthcered by terran infantry.
This was not a major setback, the swarm had control of 4 resource sites and the lurker aspect research was completed. Terran infantry would not dominate any longer!

Day 11

The terrans had invested a large contingent of troops in the offensive to the west, I decided the swarm was in a position to make them pay for it! My hydras pored into the terran natural expansion, only a squad of infantry and 2 unsieged tanks were able to offer resistance. The hydralisks plowed through the terran forces and the terrans lifted their command center away and ran like the cowardly dogs they are!
The hydralisks were unable to cause any more damage and I ordered them to retreat before reinforcements could arrive. All in all a succesful hit and run.

Day 12

The terrans mobilised their forces and headed for my expansion in the west. I ordered the morphing of lurkers at the expansion and positioning of our hydralisk army behind the tank push. A sound pincer movement would break the terran offensive once and for all!
I ordered the hydralisks in first to draw fire while the lurkers charged in and burrowed. The lurkers deadly spines butchered the terran infantry and destroyed the detectionless tanks.

Day 13

During the battle I ordered that a spired be morphed. Upon the completion of the spire all availble minerals and gas were used to morph a flotilla of mutalisks. I decided to switch to mutalisk production for two reasons, 1 it gave the swarm a mobile attack force capable of gaining total map control, 2 changing tactics can catch an opponent off guard.
The enemy is a crafty one! A dropship landed a squad of infantry on the northern expansion and managed to destroy the spire located their. It was then that the freshly morphed mutalisks came in handy, they swiftly moved in and dealt with the problem. During that offensive I ordered the morphing of 2 more hatcheries at the resource nodes above the terran base.

Day 14

Attempting to regain initiative I ordered 4 lurkers into the terrans natural expansion, it did not fare well. The lurkers ran into trouble straight away, 1 seiged tank and a squad of infantry were defending. 2 lurkers were dead before they were burrowed and the terrans used their scanner sweep to finish the remaining 2.
I then ordered the swarms mutalisk fleet to begin harrasment of the terran base. Although no solid damage was done the terrans were franticly trying to protect themselves, I could sense the terran commander feeling the pinch!

Day 15

The terrans pushed out. They mobilised their forces and razed both hatcheries postioned above their base. I ordered our army of hydralisks to hold position above the terrans which were situated in the eastern base. The hatcheries were expendable as I had ordered the morphing of a greater spire, guardians would soon come into play!
The terrans fortified their position in the east, they needed resources badly.

Day 16

The greater spire was complete, I ordered 10 guardians to be morphed. The terrans had fortified their eastern base but were completely caught off guard by the guardian offensive. The guardians targeted the seige tanks first, allowing our massive hydralisk force to stream in over the bridge. The expansion was completely overun when I recieved a signal informing me that the terrans were fleeing the planet. The swarm had prevailed, the planet was still largely untapped! Oh yes Kerrigan would here of me soon.

This report was based on a game between Mr.X and Elky. I hope you enjoyed my fairly radical change in writing style, it was fun to do something different.
