Okay, so my first part sucked ass - hard. I did get constructive comments but it still sucked. If you didn't read the prologue read it here. I think it might give you the better flow. Prologue happens like a ton of years before Chapter One so it might not help you with the flow. Anyways, onto the story!

Chapter One:
The Coming Of Intaris And Of The Ill News

In the lands of Guardia, where the lands are always green and the soil is always fertile, there lived some Elves. Now these elves lived in the high tree-tops of the elven city of Ghardofohl, in the Dead Forest. The elves had carved the tree trunks hollow with their own blades and axes. These elves lived both in the tops of trees and in the trees themselves.
It was a brisk, Sunday morning and the elves were up even before the sun woke up. Even then the trees were still asleep. The elves were always up before dawn. They had done so for so long that it had become a custom. The wind was blowing steadily through the wood and trees swayed in the direction the breeze was moving.
The elves sat in their own tunnels and trees eating their mid-morning breakfasts hungrily. There was also a very shallow, but wide, stream that ran through the wood. Its name was Long River. The young elves would jump into the river every morning and wash up.
The elder elf sat in his tree playing his small flute. Though the old one sat there silently, fair music came from the other end of the flute. Suddenly, and without warning, an elf dropped down beside him. The elf looked panicked and he seemed to be sweating.
The elder quickly stopped playing. "Karythar!" the elder exclaimed, worriedly. "What is the matter? What ill has happened now?"
Karythar, the elf, said quickly and quietly, "My brothers and I saw some movement down below the trees, elder Atar. We thought it was something very ill, perhaps an army of orcs, but then we heard some screeching."
"Indeed," said the old elf. "Lead me to the site of the screeching."
Karythar led Atar through the site by the tops of the trees. Some elves were already standing by the site. One elf quickly told the pair,
"The screeching seems to have stopped Karythar," whispered the elf.
"We will wait for anymore signs of movement," said Atar.
Seconds passed into minutes and still they heard nothing. What could be down there, thought Atar. Suddenly, they heard the screeching. Atar pushed aside the tree branches and they could clearly see what was causing the noise. Orcs.
"Look!" exclaimed Karythar, pointing furiously towards the ground. "The young ones. The orcs are after our young ones! What must we do Atar?"
"I do not know," muttered Atar shaking his head. "We are too few to fight their numbers. It is chance we can not take."
Karythar drew out a bow and arrow. "Then we can take them by distance." He was about to launch an arrow when Atar stopped him.
"They have arrows too. As long as they have outnumbered us like this we can not win, even with the use of arrows. We cannot take any chances!"
Suddenly, a furious, but old-sounding voice pierced the mid-morning air. "Go back to the shadow from wence you came!" A beam of light killed some orcs. Terrified, the orcs began running away, screeching and screaming as they went. "Turn back to the shadow and do not come back with your curses!" the voice yelled again. Another beam of light flew through the air and killed the orcs in the back. The orcs had fled and silence once more killed the noise. The young elves quickly ran away, crying.
"Who is down there?" Atar called bravely.
"Elder!" exclaimed Karythar. "How do you know if this host is evil or not? How do we know?"
Atar eyed him once and turned his attention back to the forest floor. "If he has chased off the orcs then he musn't be evil. It must be a wizard!"
All the elves stood rooted to the spots. Wizards seldom passed through this forest. Only few were known to and only one visited very frequently. Intaris.
"Can you not even greet an old friend properly?" asked the voice. "Is this how you really greet old friends?"
The elder was shocked. "I-Intaris?" he said dropping to the forest floor. The other elves did the same.
The wizard had the look of happiness on his old, wrinkly face. "Atar, my old, old friend!" The elf and wizard embraced each other.
"Come," said the elf, "let us sit down to tea and we can talk then!"
As soon as they were settled down on an outside "patio" in the trees an elf poured them both of the old ones a cup of tea. The elf then turned and left.
Atar sipped his tea slowly. "Intaris, where have you been? We haven't seen you for at least three years! Tell me everything."
The wizard put his cup down. "As soon as I left the wood precisely three years ago, I made my way to the House of Vanya, one of the last of the homeliest homes. As soon as I arrived there I learned that great peril was happening in the Mystic Mountains again. Dwarves were leaving their great mountain halls and making for the Departure, to leave this place in no hopes of ever returning. Vanya himself did not know what was going on. I left the city of the fair and made my way to the great city of men, Val. I visited my old friend Taren the Swordsmen, son to the king of Val. He also did not know what was happening in the stranger parts of the Mystic Mountains."
The wizard paused to take a sip of tea. "So I did the only sensible thing to do. I journeyed all the way to the Mystic Mountains. I explored all the mountains there. Every dwarf that still remained in the mountains said but the same thing over and over - The Mines Of Mordulf. So I decided to explore the mines by myself. As soon as I entered the tunnels I knew something was wrong. The tunnels and passages were all dark. No hint of light remained anywhere. I saw many a dwarf... ... in the dungeons of... the... Necromancer. I managed to free four dwarves and barely managed to escape myself. Such things like that should not be mentioned here. I made my way up here with those four dwarves."
The elf grew furious. "You mean that those dwarves are in this wood at this very moment?" The old wizard nodded. "I shall not have it! Those dwarves must be dealt with at once!"
The wizard remained calm and said, "Atar, now is the time to set aside those problems and solve them now. The Necromancer is back again and we must set aside our differences and help each other. The Necromancer has returned."
The elf was shocked but slowly sat himself down. "He can't be back Intaris, he just can't be!" The elf put his face in his hands and muttered into them. "No! He can't be back! The Necromancer cannot be back."
Intaris reached over and patted Atar on the shoulder and said quietly and calmy, "He is back Atar. We must face our troubles." With that he stood up and made his way back to the forest floor. Atar slowly got up and followed Intaris down the long steps and onto the floor.
"W-W-What do you plan to do Intaris?" stammered Atar.
Intaris whistled shrilly and out of the bramble came running four dwarves. "Surprisingly," began Intaris with a chuckle, "these dwarves are all quadruplets!"
The dwarves bowed one by one, introducing themselves. "Sorc, Borc, Dorc and Gorc at your service!"
The elf managed a laugh and exclaimed, "Why, they know their manners too!" The dwarves bowed again.
"Now we must be on our way, right Intaris?" said Dorc.
"Yes, we must be on our way now," Gorc replied after Dorc.
"Hold on!" said Intaris. "I came here to request a few of your kind to join us in our quest." He said to Atar.
"What do you mean?" said a confused Atar. "I don't get it Intaris. You just got here, and you're leaving with the dwarves on yet another quest?"
"Oh no, no," said Intaris, shaking his head. "I was just stopping by. I need some elves, or at least one, to join me, or should I say us, on our quest to destroy the Necromancer once and for all."
"What?" exclaimed Atar. "No, of course not. I would not sacrifice an elf of my own to join you on your hideous quest!"
Seemingly, an elf cloaked in black dropped down onto the wood floor. "I wish to join you, Intaris," said the figure removing his hood.
"Karythar!" exclaimed Atar. "Of course you are not joining him! He can go play with his toys somewhere else. We will be safe here."
Intaris began to grow angry. "Atar, how foolish you have become since my last visit. With out destroying the Necromancer now, nowhere will be safe. Not even the Dead Forest that you proclaim is safe! The Necromancer will come and take your kind too, just like the dwarves!"
Atar looked straight at the ground. "O, Intaris, how right you are!" If Karythar goes then I go too. There is still strength left in these immortal bones to journey that far! Somebody will have to take the place of the elder while I am gone and should I return I will be named elder again."

Chapter Two:
The Grey Wolves

Atar and Karythar were ready to go. They were travelling far and long so they were travelling light. They left earlier in the morning than they usually would have gotten up. The elves of the Dead Forest saw them out the forest.
Intaris acted as a guide and leader. Atar followed along behind Intaris and the dwarves scuttled behind him. Karythar took up the rear. As soon as light hit, the birds came into view. They had been travelling the fields for quite some time and Intaris felt to open so he brought them into the woods where they would not be seen.
Whether it was Intaris' doing or just plain luck, they saw no walking animals that day, save for a small squirrel, and saw nothing that flew, except for a few sparrows. The air smelled fine and the breeze was light. It was actually a fine day for a walk through the wood.
Although the day and sun was good, when night came the winds became harsher and colder. Intaris was forced to lead the group into a hollow where they would spend the night. It was quite warm inside the hollow and it was nice and cozy. They lit a fire and Intaris told them to get rest while he spent the night on guard.
A harsh howl that was carried through the wind woke up Atar, Karythar and the dwarves. Karythar sat up straight. The dwarves looked around wildly, only Intaris spoke.
"Those howls and issued from the wolves who hunt the wild in the night. The grey wolves to be exact. Their numbers are many and they take down their enemies and prey with their sheer numbers. We will be perfectly safe in our little hollow tonight. The grey wolves fear fire."
The others quickly fell asleep again while Intaris kept watch.
Intaris woke them quite early the next morning. The fire had been kindled. "Quick!" said he. "If we do not leave, the wolves will be on our trail and on the hunt for us."
The elves and dwarves quickly got up and picked up what little they had brought. They set off back through the wood again. The birds had not come out form their nests and the squirrels were not out picking chestnuts like they usually would.
Intaris suddenly halted the group. He looked upon the ground. "The wolves have been here." The others quickly eyed the ground and saw piles of bones and leftovers of some poor beasts. All around were tracks of the wolves. Intaris hurried the group off through the wood again, "We must be off, the wolves are near."
Atar followed Intaris looking around freely around the woods. Suddenly he slipped down a slope and landed in a shallow river. Since he had been behind Intaris, the others had been following him and had fallen with him into the river.
Atar got up and picked the dwarves up. "O, my aching head," said Gorc and Dorc at the same time."
"We must find Intaris," said Atar. Karythar was not paying attention. He was eying the bushes and the trees that lined the river. Atar looked at him and questioned him, "What is the matter Karythar?"
Karythar quickly drew out his bow and arrow. "The wolves are hear." The dwarves hesistated no more and drew their axes out. Atar pulled out his sword. Karythar then said, "Where is Intaris?"
A howl issued from the bushes and a wolf jumped out. A bow twanged and an arrow quickly killed the wolf. What seemed like one thousand more howls issued from the trees and bushes that lined the bank. Karythar shot four arrows in a row, slaying four wolves quickly. The dwarves roared aloud and charged at the wolves. Atar did not hesitate and joined them.
They had slayed a good number of wolves before more wolves jumped out of the bramble. Karythar stopped shooting and his hands fell to his sides. "It is no use fighting, they've surrounded us."
The dwarves stopped at once and the elves and dwarves gathered close together.
A sudden ray of light killed three wolves in the rows. The wolves howled. But it did not seem like any attacking signal, more like a retreat or a scared howl. The wolves began to jump out of the river and back through the bushes. More rays of light hit the retreating wolves, killing them.
"Intaris!" exclaimed Karythar.
"We fell down a slope," said Dorc.
"If 'tis atar had been leading us in the right direction-" began Gorc who was halted by Intaris.
"That does not matter now, we must run before the wolves come back," said the old wizard. With that he led them up a less steep part of the slope and out of the forest.

Author's Note:

Hey all. I know I said I would release this over the weekend but I finished it today and I decided to post it. I hope it's better than the prologue. Btw, it isn't a D2 fanfic, but more a warcraft one. Anyways, comment/critisize/flame/help whatever. Just comment! And yes chapter one was mostly just talk, who cares?
