Right, this is my very first battle report, so I hope it’s ok, and I don’t have a clue how to use html so this is being done in… Word!  lol, ok I know that sucks but its all I have to do this with, that is unless you want a picture-less, black text on white background report, with no paragraphs etc. you’ll have to deal with it.

Right, back to the report, basically I consider myself an above average n00b, so take from that what you will.  I started playing Starcraft a couple of years ago, but gave up, came back around 2 months ago but all I played was SCM’s, no actual games until I saw this site and it got me in the mood J.  So I started playing with my old alias, Kulkusa, well it was a disaster and I kept loosing at everything to the point where I had about 3 wins and 10 losses, this of course meant no one wanted to be my ally.  So I made my new, and current, alias, Eternal_Nation.  Its going good and I have a record of 17/12 now, so not bad for me.

Anyway, I joined a 2v2 lt game, and after waiting for the hosts ally to come back from taking a piss (2nd game in one day this had happened) we were off.  My ally was babe[no3] who has a pretty decent record.  Our opponents were Smelly-Dingo and Ludder-Pels.  I can’t remember for sure, but I think we were all random, either way though I drew Blue Protoss at 9, my ally was Red Terran at 3.  Our opponents had drawn Purple Terran at 12 for Ludder-Pels, and White Zerg at 6 for Smelly-Dingo.

Ok, Terran’s started their wall-in’s, I went for early gas, and White began their pool at 10.  White’s Overlord arrived as I began my Assimilator and hovered for a bit, and Red, my ally, began scouting out purple.  Upon arrival he found the wall-in under construction and began harassing the scv’s building it until they forced him to run.

Everyone had had begun gas production by now also.  Meanwhile White began a new hatchery next to his first at 14, while upgrading his first to a lair, and I began warping in a Gateway, then Cybernetics Core and also a Forge.  Purple began an academy after complementing his wall-in with a bunker, and my ally, went straight for the factory while also scouting White.

I built a shiny new pylon at my ramp, and then realized no one was in a hurry to attack and so quickly expanded to my natural.  Meanwhile Red began 2 starport’s, while purple built two factories.  White built a sunken next to his extractor and began morphing a spire at the back of his base.

Well we decided to cause a little havoc, and with our small, army, well actually, make that pathetic army; we marched off towards the Zerg infestation.

The two Scv’s and the marine arrived first and began to attack the 2 zerglings that were sent at them, after quickly disposing of them the marine started laying into a passing overlord before another 2 zerglings arrived, the managed to kill the marine before they both crumpled to the floor.  Mean while my only zealot I had sent edged round the back of the base to avoid the sunken, but perhaps it was too slowly as he only managed to dispose of 1 drone before 6 eggs burst open releasing the new born zerglings inside.  After they had dealt with him they wasted the Scv’s and the new marine that had arrived before resting at the 6 o’clock natural.

This rest was short lived as 2 wraiths swooped in and slaughtered the helpless Zerglings.

During this time purple had managed to sneak 2 marines a firebat and a medic into Red’s base, but due to some unlucky timing two more wraiths popped out the greet them before they could do any damage.

While the fighting was going on Red and White built little at their bases but I fortified my natural with 2 cannons on the cliff near my ramp and another 3 in the valley below them, purple also built a Starport and began an armory.

White after getting us out of his base expanded to his natural but left no defenses, but Red’s 4 wraiths he had sent simply flew past it to my dismay, but after running into two spore colonies at his main retreated and had a go at it anyway before being scared off by a combined mutalisk, scourge force sent to reinforce it.

Purple was by now producing goliaths and a lone Valkyrie, while I, myself had begun warping in my templar archives, a Robotics Facility and 4 new Gateways.  Again both white and red produced now new structures apart from supply buildings while only building minimal forces.

So we had got through the beginning, that was good, now if felt like we had the upper hand, but we didn’t know

for sure.  Red launched an attack with his control group of wraiths but quickly pulled them back after seeing

incoming Zerg forces to his base.

The attack group quickly flew up to the mineral line,

But before they got there rockets started

Pummeling them from all sides from the now

Cloaked wraiths.  Having not brought any kind

Of detector with them they retreated to a kind of

‘safe zone’ purple was building.

I used some of my mounting pile of resources to drop purples line, but due to bad pathing, and the small fact I didn’t notice the 2 missile turrets sitting next to the CC my Dark Templar returned to the void pretty quickly from the goliaths sent to kill them.

After this, Red and purple finally pulled their fingers out and each expanded to their natural.

I noticed some mutalisks hovering at the south of my base, just out of dragoon range, even with the upgrade, so I called red down who proceeded to perform hit and run attacks on the swarm, doing minor damage to some buildings and killing 3-4 mutalisks before they forced Red to retreat.

Just after this White began another expansion at Purple’s mineral only, and purple expanded to the northwest island.  White also managed to get his mutalisks up to my line at my main and destroy the probes there before my dragoons managed to kill 5 of them and force them to withdraw.  Soon after Red set up a barrage above Whites natural and wiped out most of it before the mutalisks arrived, but the cloaked wraiths took down 5-6 mutalisks before the overlord spotted them and the pulled back at the loss of both tanks.

While this was happening I landed 4 Zealots on purples new expansion and killed all but the CC as he lifted it, but a lone battle cruiser floated over and dealt with them and purple got back on with his expansion.

Well the big battles began to happen.  Red started a buildup just north of Whites, natural but white saw it and ambushed him, and as the picture to your left shows the force of about a 15 marines, 5 medics and a control group of wraiths died, all this with the wraiths taking minimal losses.

The remaining mutalisks headed for Red’s natural but after destroying a few Scv’s and 1 turret a group of marines overwhelmed them.

But Red built back a reasonable ground force very fast and he headed down toward the natural again.

Meanwhile…  I started dropping units to the SW of whites base without his knowing, and they sat waiting for reinforcements.

Red’s attack on the natural was more than successful and just as he came up the ramp…

My reinforcements landed and together we laid waste to whites base, with our forces meeting in the middle.  BUT… while all this was happening Red had come under serious attack back at his main and purples, valkyrie’s and battle cruisers were killing him left right and center, so after killing White’s exp at the mineral only near Purple I sent my Dragoons over to try help, but they did little more than repaint the ground with that blue sloop.

I quickly ran 4 temps up there and stormed the 6 remaining BC’s into oblivion.  Now I did have a decent screenshot of this but it’s disappeared… So you’ll have to imagine it, but that isn’t hard J.

There was a clam for a while, which gave us a chance to spot the last of White’s mighty swarm..

Not much, he definitely wouldn’t be bothering us again.

Meanwhile Purple launched another wave at red’s (now abandoned) main, comprising of a bunch of BC’s and some tanks.

But red was getting a little paranoid and after seeing what red had built at his natural purple headed for the center.

Well it turned out to be the wrong move as that’s where my units had been massing and the BC fleet quickly fell to a few casts of mind control and psi storm.

I even got a pic of it this time, and it looks cool, as the valks are firing at my Mind controlled BC also.

Well the day was pretty much over and all we had to do was clean out the rubbish… Which is exactly what we did!

Red started out by killing purples exp in the NW island, this left him with 0 income as he’d mined out both his base and his natural.

I then loaded my units into 9 dropships and headed to the back of Purple’s main.

I dropped with 0 ship losses and proceeded to waste the undefended main.  Nothing could stand in my way…

Pretty soon it was all over…  J

Well I hope this kept you entertained for however long it took you to read it.  I know it wasn’t the most interesting, or skillful game but I think it was appropriate for my first report as it was interesting.  It took a while to write this, as its around 3 in the morning now, and you can see I kept using more pictures to describe things rather than my brain as it gets later in the report J  Just hope it wasn’t to pic heavy.

Oh and like I said at the beginning I used word so don’t blame me if it all messes up when its put online.. J
