Lost Temple - 1940s
Surfing for any public game, I see "2vs2 LT~!". I normally avoid public 2v2's, but since all the compstomps required us to kill 2 or MORE comps, the choice was obvious.
On entering the pre-game chat, I noticed some peculiarly nazisistic names lingering above my own. The 2 SS lads were paired together while Own-OnQueue and I made up the 2nd team. Like the majority of Bnet pubbies, Reichsfuhrer felt the need to go "HEHIL", before the clock started.
gestapo[ss] starts at 3 with chosen Protoss. His partner reichsfuhrerSS, chosen Toss also, starts at 9. The pair get to work on a precision double Zealot rush.
Own-OnQueue, begins at 12 with chosen Terran, starting a metal build complete with wall-in. I(KotR-random) obviously started at 6, with chosen Zerg. I plopped down a 2nd hatch above my ramp, sending my Overlord to scout the 9 main. The Overlord not only reminds reichsfuhrerSS of my race, but gives away the fact he is Zealot rushing(although what else would he do).
Fearing reprisal for my Overlord rush, I set up a few sunkens at my ramp hatch. My caution was wasted, both nazis sending their Zeals to my unprepared partner, Own-OnQueue's base.
The Zealots penetrated the wall-in due to lazy SCV response. Own-OnQueue was forced to evacuate hte 12 main, floating his buildings westward.
Own-OnQueue stealthily landed on the Top-left island expo in the hopes of rebuilding. He also warned me of a small pest in my natural that a my Zerglings had revealed but not attacked.
gestapo[ss] built up his base, placing cannons at random locations. reichsfuhrerSS unleashed his mighty 2 sair-air force, absolutley raping and entire Overlord before dying to several mutas and a spore. Oh yeah, and gestapo[ss] built a cybercore.
Own-OnQueue, remember him?, well he had been secretly rebuilding, and even producing the odd offensive unit. He decided we should attack one of the two head on with the majority of our forces. After months of strategical planning and dangerous scout missions, we agreed that reichsfuhrerSS's ramp would be a good place to start.
Our Muta/Vulture combo moved into position and suprised the suprised Protoss with a suprise attack!
Losses were sustained by both sides, but the garrison fell. My Mutalisks went deeper in towards reichsfuhrerSS's mineral line, but were shooed by cannon/goon fire.
gestapo[ss] had been pumping goons from several gateways, his force moved back and forth between the 9 and 3 bases before resting below the centre Temple.
My few mutalisks returning from the previous attack flew passed the goon gathering. I panicked once again, and spawned lings from all my hatcheries.
Realising that the goons weren't in a hurry to fight, I positioned my lings so that they had an easy exit to the centre of the map. A few mutas would act as an aerial distraction while the lings attacked. The plan failed miserably due to a rogue Zealot caught in the mineral only minerals, which had caught the attention of many lings.
Even with this latest victory, the nazi party did not pull any sort of counter-offensive, instead choosing to fortify thier bases and produce a few more goons.
Own-OnQueue had teched up to Starports and Siege Tanks, heh hmm.
I crossed over to Hydralisk tech and pumped them out as fast as I could.
Minutes passed and still no attack! My Hydra/Ling was at a nice size to take out the hovering Goon squad above my natural, so I sent them out, this time not having to worry about any pimp Zealots.
Almost simutaneously, my old friend Own-OnQueue landed a Siege tank on the top-right land mass. The tank deployed, and with the help of an overlord, started firing on gestapo[ss]'s Assimilator.
Things weren't looking too hot for the Protoss, reichsfuhrerSS was forced to do that icky thing called expanding since his main was nearly dry. gestapo[ss] still had his Natural to rely on...
As it turned out, gestapo[ss] DIDN'T have his natural to rely on! Nope, Own-OnQueue - the one that got away, set up offensively on the cliff just below the said expansion.
Also a quick raid into reichsfuhrerSS's base shook the fuhrer to a degree.
With both Nazis economys in ruin, they launched a final, ALL OR NOTHING attack on my base.
The attack was quite easily defended, causing a Nazi surrender.
