So. TheyAre, Merkava, myself, me, I, and all the rest logged onto US East when I realized that something was wrong. No, it wasn't the fact that I had finally bought a new computer and I could run Diablo II without running. No, it wasn't the fact that I have literally no War3 skill and have reached the limit of my ability (level 8) and still continue to try to get better. This was far worse, even worse than the vain attempt at humor presented here.
My little brother was home.
This one word describes my little brother: Gay. Not just gay. Extremely gay. Mattzarella "I don't 1v1" gay.
So he comes up and starts jabbering about how he wants me to teach him how to play Night Elf. I say shut up a few times, punch him in the arm, and throw him out of my room.
Bad idea.
My mother rushes in, and of course, I'm in the wrong. So ten minutes later my little brother is sitting here while I look for a 1v1 on my clan name, Vegeta-cAs. The cute little eye stops moving, the impressive "boom" sound... sounds, and I find myself paired up against Rebel-Fear, a level 4.
Wonderful.
He; Undead. I, Night Elf. The map: Lost Temple. Besides Stromgarde, the only map I know of where you can creep like hell in the beginning and expect not to be too far away when your enemy attacks and you don't want to use your TP.
The loading screen disappears, replaced by my pulsating brown Tree of Life at the 12 position (11 if you want to get technical) along with five glowing little brown Wisps that are pretty damn hard to see with the light reflecting on my monitor. I turn the light off and punch my little bro, and now realize that I've spent about 4 seconds doing nothing. A great start. Meanwhile, Rebel has landed a light green Necropolis along with three Acolytes and a Ghoul at 9. Fine. Its really at 7, but I'm saying 9, dammit. (horrible humor attempt alert)
So here are the starting builds:
Vegeta:
1. 5 Wisps to gold, 3 building at ToL.
2. First Wisp out gets an Altar, and second a Moonwell.
3. Last wisp comes out, sent to wood. Two more being made at Tree.
4. Altar and Moonwell done, Demon Hunter being built, along with Ancient of War and another Moonwell.
5. 5 Archers to augment my Hunter (referred to now as Sindweller or whatever his name is) and a Hunter's Hall. 5 Wisps on Gold, 5 on wood. Another one building Moonwells as needed.
Rebel:
1. 3 Acolytes sent to gold, Ghoul to wood. 3 Acolytes being built.
2. First Acolyte sent to build an Altar, Ziggurat, and Crypt. 2 others sent to gold.
3. Ziggurat, Dread Lord. Necros by name.
4. Graveyard, pumping Ghouls for wood. He gets three on wood and five to accompany his Deathlord to his exp.
END OF STARTING BUILDS. How nice of me to tell you.
I send Sindweller and the Archers to my natural. Awaiting me are some trolls. I dispatch of them, getting a Ring of Protection +2, and a Mana Stone. Rebel also creeps his natural, getting a Mana Stone and some Boots of Speed. We both exp at about the same time (within 10 seconds of each other), and I start a Tree of Ages, while Rebel starts pumping seriously gay (almost as much as my bro) amounts of Crypt Fiends and starts on his Halls of the Dead. I then see "Necros Level 3 Dread Lord has died." I'm thinking, yay.
Sindweller and 6 Archers (one died when I creeped exp and I built 2 more) along with 3 Huntresses head off for the middle. We beat up the Gnolls and I get a Claws of Attack +6 from one of the Level 5 Ogres, and Sindweller gets to level 4, but it was night and I wanted to creep the other places before I took the middle. Two of them were empty (later when I watched rep I realized that Rebel had creeped them and that's when his Dread Lord died. I headed for the middle and the fountain of life, 2 more Archers and a Huntress coming from my main to help out, and I had two Ancients of Lore building in my main and my exp up. And, here is the first (or second, or third) of many cliches that will emanate from this report:
RUMBLE IN THE MIDDLE
My force (8 Archers and 5 Huntresses with Sindweller) meets up with Rebel's force of Necros, 5 Ghouls, and 3 Crypt Fiends. Sounds pretty easy for me, right? Not when Necros is sleeping everything in sight and I have the creeps in the middle hitting my men (women, really) and not his creepy Undead. I retreat after losing a Huntress and two Archers, wait about 5 seconds, and attack again. This time he's the one getting hit from two sides, and the three Dryads I sent down help a bit as well. He loses two Ghouls and a Crypt Fiend before he runs to his exp. I opt not to follow, letting Sindweller (who has 52 hp) get healed a bit at the fountain before I pursue.
UPGRADES:
Vegeta:
2-2 Huntresses and Archers
2-1 Dryads
Rebel:
1-1 Ghouls
2-1 Crypt Fiends
With Sindweller now fairly healthy after about a minute, I send my forces at the middle along with 4 new Dryads from my base up to knock on the door of Rebel's expansion. I find a Haunted Gold Mine, two Spirit Towers, 4 Ghouls, Necros, 4 Crypt Fiends, and... 3 Necromancers. Me being stupid, I rush straight at his Spirit Towers, meaning I have to beat his men first. Bad idea. I kill some Ghouls, lose an Archer or two... and suddenly Skeleton Warriors are everywhere. I dispatch of them quickly enough. Sindweller does get to level 6, though, and I get metamorphosis. Now is not the time to use it, though, as my brother is laughing and saying I suck and my Dryads are going down like beers in the parking lot around Heinz Field around 12 PM Sunday (more bad humor).
I, of course, punch my brother and run away, heading for the 3 main, where I hope to expand. I do, taking out the creeps with little trouble, and a probe by Rebel at my expansion with a couple of Ghouls and Crypt Fiends is easily repulsed by my Ancient Protectors and returning troops. No Necros. Hmmm.
A mass of Skeletons, Crypt Fiends, Necromancers, and Necros hit my main. How surprising. A Moonwell falls. And another. And then my Hunter's Hall. And then my women arrive and his Skeletons turn to dust, their little blue bar entirely black. He retreats, but not before I turn to Sindweller, Demon Form, and kill Necros.
I head to his exp, with about 20 Dryads, 5 Huntresses and Sindweller. I rape his exp and his few defending units, he types "gg" and leaves.
How anticlimactic.
Game wasn't too good, but it was back and forth for a while.
