teh l33t intro p1c

Wow, alot of good reports have come and gone since my last (and first) offering, And to show that I haven't gone completely apeshit heres my 2nd battle Report; A Bloody 2v2 on a heinous map. enjoy...
The Map

teh map

The game you are about to see was played on that most horrifying of maps which causes all men who perceive it's visage to go, "FUCK it's Harvest Moon!" Harvest Moon is one of those maps that makes you wonder if Blizzard designed it before they thought up creeps and pathing. The only safe was to get around is through a valley which encircles the four mains. A swathe cut into each main plateau from the central paths leads to some hillarious incidents in which, while massing a secret attack, players find their units parading through their enemies' base naked as the day they were born. The tightly packed center is guarded by some powerfull creeps, second only to Legends in terms of armies lost while traversing the map. for those of you lucky enough to have never played on Harvest moon heres some more info:

The areas marked M are the four mains.

Area G is populated by the weakest creeps on the map, a level 3 gnoll and three poachers. Not much experience here, but a usefull treasure is sometimes found.

here be gnolls

Areas A,B,C, and D are the "natural" expansions, and the esiest to defend due to their high ground. Each is guarded by a pack of trolls, stereotyping hispanics and jamaicans alike with brutal honesty. A troll priest uses his vodoo to heal his amigos, and A big bad Troll Overlord emits a trueshot aura which makes his warriors even deadlier. It's best to creep this area with a sizeable force (or footmen with defend>_<).

here be trolls

Area F is a major battlefield. It is the largest open space on the map aside from the mains. Due to the lengthy walks envolved in trecking around the outer valleys many warriors find themselves locking arms in this pit. The area is rich in gold with two mines, but no gold in Lordaeron is left undefended, and each mine is heavily gaurded by an Ogre lord, ogre magi, a Mauler and two trolls.

fat fucks

the P areas are potion shops gaurded by a Rock Golem, two gnoll wardens, and two gnoll assassins. There are also two Mercenary Camps on opposites sides of the map (area I), guarded by a troll gang simmilar to those at the expansions.

here's where u get ur drink on

Well, on to the game!
The Matchup

The players are as follows: Poor_lil_Newb commands the green undead at the southern main. He is flanked to the west by his ally Scorpyus, commanding the red Orcs. The opposing team consists of Nighthell as the spooky purple Undead in the east and Big_Phun as the vivacious orange Night Elves in the north.

The loadscreen finally rose like the curtains on this play of battle to reveal Poor_lil_Newb (henceforth known as Nitros) in the bottom positon and his ally Scorpyus to his right. The enemy camps lied across from them like the points of a compass, with the Ogre infested valley between them. Nitros starts off with his own unique, different and overall sexy build, in which he places his graveyard at the same time as his crypt and before his altar. It is said that this allows him to achieve an advantage in upgrades for his Scourge. It also allows him to call on his ally for a donation of 100 gold, which he does in timely fashion. He lays down an altar and finnaly a zigguratt, perhaps forgeting that the undead need food too. He picks a Lich as his hero while simultaneously researching canabalize and unholy armour.

Scorpyus uses a standard orc build order, starting with an altar and laying down a barracks and a burrow respectively. He selects a Tauren Chieftan as his champion, and the mighty minotaur stands axe in hand as two grunts are trained for his service. when a War mill and a second barracks are complete, Scorpyus begins renivating his puny hall into a mighty stronghold.

Meanwhile Nighthell has started with a more conventional Undead build, summoning a Crypt, altar, and zig. He selects the Death Knight as the leader of his unholy horde, adds another ziggurat and begins to upgrade his Necropolis to the nefarious halls of the dead. He undoubtably seeks to instill his gouls with their unspeakable frenzy, which will allow them to rip opposing armies to shreds with deadly efficiency. Big_Phun's sentinels have also been at work in their northern stronghold, bringing the forest to life with the intent to wage war. Big_Phun starts off with an altar and an ancient of war and soon ads a moon well. He selects a priestess of the moon and begins to assemble a cadre of beautiful archers. No doubt he has taken the responsibility of the assassin, his Bow-women picking off wounded heroes who might attempt to flee a battle. He adds a hunters hall and a second AOW and begins upgrading his deadly weapons.

creepin' on a come up

Having mustered a decent force of orc and undead warriors, team Nitros/Scorp begin their quest. They start by routing the troll camp in the bottom left of the map, with nitros making excellent use of the minimap signal. with the vicious brutes defeated the two commanders pick up the treasures and head for the bottom left potion shop.

*side note: if you watch the replay you'll notice that Scorp's TC picked up a mantle of inteligence (a mana item) while Nitros' lich recieved a peritaph of vitality (a hit point-boosting item). IMO these items would have been better suited for each others heroes, giving the Warrior hero more HP and the Caster hero more mana. Not many people know this but you can trade items between allied heroes without having to drop them on the floor. Simple right click on the item in your inventory and left click on the Ally's (or your own) hero. This can make team and even solo games more efficient.

*side note2: if you watch the replay you'll notice that team Scorp/Nitros fail to creep the gnolls right beside their bases at first. By the middle game you'll notice that they still haven't crept the gnolls. In fact, they NEVER creep the gnolls right beside their bases because they NEVER noticed them... -_-

Nighthell has also heard the call of battle, and yearning to spill blood he heads to the top right gold mine with about seven gouls. But he must have been so anxious to see battle, or just unfamiliar with the War3 interface because he neglected to bring along his ally. Big_Phun was content to stay in his forest and creep a small camp of gnolls. After clearing the top right mine with minimal losses Nighthell commands an acolyte to haunt the glittering cave, techs straight to a Black Citadel and heads down to the bottom right potion shop.

bitchin' coil!

Nighthell first encounters Nitross' gouls and Lich comming down the ramp at area D. At first he seems unsure of how much damage he can do, but when he feels the chilling effect of a frost nova he TPs home. Nighthell has an expansion up and running, defended by spirit towers. His ally is upgrading to the Tree of Ages, so as to increase the damage and armour of his Hunts and archers. Nitros has sent an acolyte to haunt his bottom left mine.

your dead! all of ya!Nitros and Scorpyus arrive at the bottom right potion shop when Nighthell rides up with a pack of mad ghouls. Nitros' new Dreadlord gets caught in the frey and with the help of a gosu rock golem Nighthell offs him with icy precision and flees. Scorpyus' new farseer had been trying to come to the rescue but ran into some troublesome creeps in the center >_<

Screaming bloody murder Nitros and Scorp charge after Nighthell, but finding his base heavily defended decided to charge north into The expansion to put the hurt on him. Finding the expansion also heavily defended, they charge bucket-of-fishheads first into shark infested waters. At first the two seemed to have things under control.

They dealt with a spirit tower and began munching on the Acolytes.

get um!!

damn, nice shot

But Nighthell didnt ignore them for long, and upon arrival quickly surround the lich and gave it the old heave-ho. Scorpyus' farseer was next, and a wounded tauren chieftan also bit the dust. Obituaries for all three heros filled the screen. Leaderless, Scorpyus' grunts turn to flee but are intercepted by a mighty force of Big_Phun's Sentinels making excellent use of their range and 2nd tier firepower they massacre the burly grunts with Amazonian accuracy. Chasing a few straglers, team Nighthell/Phun garner another advantage and wipe out the center creeps.

ouch

triple ouch

Update

whats goin on at 12:13

Scorp and Nitros have just lost a large force, and Nighthells expansion is still standing in area B. Nitros has an expo in area C, and Scorpyus is expanding in area D.

While trying to find a place for all the ass that has just been handed to them Nitros and Scorpyus begin adding some big guns to their arsenal Nitros has two crypts with the intent to pump frenzied ghouls and a Temple of the Damned where Necromancers practice the unspeakable magiks that got them kicked out of Hogwarts. He also as an expansion being run by four acolytes. According to him this is to "conserve resources in the fragile environment of Harvest Moon" but i think he just plum forgot.allways the treehugger

Scorp has a groovy spirit lodge where his Shamman "expand their minds"( ever wonder what that smoke commin' out the top is?) and is reviving his heroes while adding a second barracks. He is also attemting to expand to the bottom right. The Two set out to creep the center but finding only remains their hearts sink. Then Nitros' notices some activity in the bottom right, Nighthell's Death Knight and ghouls going to town on Scorpyus' expansion. Rushing to the rescue Nitros and Scorpyus arrive just short of the Great Halls collapse. Nighthell flees to the right but seeing his ally charging down the right side of the map he heads back to form a deadly pincher.

0wnz0rag3

Ghouls and grunts clash and the clanging of armor and flesh becomes defening. Nitros' 2/2 ghouls and good use of Nova and carrion swarm manage to whittle down Nighthell's force, but When Big_Phun starts Fiering at their backs the tides quickly turn. Scorp's Farseer is the first to fall, and his noble Marn soon joins him in the afterlife. Ghoul and grunt corpses litter the ground but with only one necromancer, Nitros lacks the mana to raise a sizable army. Nighthell out does him with his ultimate, raising five undead grunts and a huntress.aww damn Nitros ports home with one hero and a necromancer, and he and scorp begin the task of getting back in the game. With two TOtDs pumping master-level Necros, and shamans begining to spiritualize Scorpyus' army, the team is quickly ready for war once again.

Nighthell splits his forces and sends his raised minions down to Nitros' expansion under the command of a Dreadlord.

cause this is thrilla!!

His Death Knight soon joins them along with some stone-cold gargoyles.swing batter
But Nitros is ready and heads for his expo on the heals of big_phun's elves, forming a humourous conga line. Scorpyus and Nitros intercept Big_Phun's force seconds away from the expo while Nighthell rushes up to defend his warrior women. Upon arriving he decides that losing your army is a life lesson for all to learn and ports home while his allies army is consumed. Now the game is in the hands of Nitros and Scorp. Their confidence restored they head north to wipe out a newly forming expansion at area A.

wtf?

cha cha cha!

pwned!

Knowing the expansion is finsihed, Nighthell kills it for them, unsummoning it back it to the twisted neather. Nitros and Scorpyus split up,nice with one checking Area D and the other plowing through the center. They nearly miss a desperate attempt by Big_Phun to expand to the middle but go lumberjack on his undefended tree of life. After the arbor ass handing Scorp's horde meets up with his undead ally's much bigger army just outside of Nighthell's now fortified base.

oh so sexy

Our warriors engage at the outskirts of Nighthell's blight. Now with a formidable cult of Necromancers Nitros' is able to make good use of the mryiad corpses. Frost novas and carrion swarms are let lose along with chain lightning, while Scorp's Marn does little more than add brute strength to the team and suicidally die. Obviously Scorpyus is unaware that the Tauren Chieftain does not come with Reincarnation until level 6. With Nighthell's army vanquished the warriors press on, but try as they might they are unable to raze the undead Citadel. Nitros ports home to avoid unnesscessary loses, while Scorpyus, seemingly either unfamiliar with this concept or too 1337 for such noob hax, is content to let his army eat it once again.

what, no hero? Sparks, I cant go back to mass goons in BW!

Nitros heads back through the center and notices a cadre of huntresses riding hero-less through the woods with bad things on their minds. The big 3/3 cat riders seem ferocious and easily capable of defeating Nitros' Poor_lil_Army, but with Nova, cripple and plenty of skeletons to go around they are soon nothing more then road kill. With no army and no gold Big_Phun concedes the game, granting Nighthell control of a Priestess about two kills away from starfall.

AWW DAMNIT

aww damn

AWWW DAMN! gg phun

Nighthell presses tenaciously through the center, using raise dead to give him an instant huntress honour guard. Nitros knows whats good for him and flees, while Scorpyus' marn was too proud and once again meets his ancestors. Both Scorp and Nighthell are attempting an expansion in area A with hillarious results as Scorp's peons hack away at a haunted gold mine. The great hall finishes and and begins producing more peons to pillage the undead mine.

hehe funny pic

Nighthell rushes up to protect his "expansion" like a vice squad cracking down on street walkers. He also brings along his ally's POtM in the hopes of achieving the game ending starfall. The great hall is razed to the ground(which makes Scorp very unhappy) and the peons slaughtered(which makes him apoplectic), bringing the Priestess to within a sliver of her ultimate. The undead/orc force confronts Nighthell at the bottom of the ramp. Delas Moonfang achieves her spiritual apex and when the forces of the cosmos and a few greek gods begin raining down upon his head Nitros flees the scene.

whaaaaaat

At this point Scorp has no gold and no troops whatsoever. In a brave decision he opts not to flee the battle as Phun had but rather to beg his ally for gold to resurrect his once again dead Tauren Chieftain. Showing his warm and generous side Nitros obliges and soon a level 4 Marn steps back into the world of the living to continue his god-given quest to get ripped apart.

ok now ur just showing off

Without an army strong enough to contest his enemies directly Nighthell travels around the map seeking out expansions, hoping to starve his opponents into submission. He still has an expansion in area B and is quickly assembling one in area A. With unholy speed he charges to the bottom left to eliminate Nitros' expansion. He lets off another starfall, pummeling the base into dust. But on his way out he is intercepted by our angered heroes! They quickly go to work on Nighthell's force, his Death Knight feels the degrading darkness of cripple and using his keen intellect Nitros decides to surround the death knight with adrenalin..er frenzied ghouls and with a final Frost Nova he is finished.

can u deal

with that!

Standing alone, surrounded by undead horrors,
wow the Priestess meets an identical fate allthough her dead body receives much more care and attention than that of the death knight. With victory so close they can taste it, Nitros and Scorp charge the new expansion in the northwest. Death and Decay begins to wilt away the base defenses. Nighthell's acolytes make a desperate attempt to save the spirit tower but a final carrion swarm takes out every last one of Nighthell's workers and The ravenous undead commander concedes with unwilling gg's.

your champions are:

gg no re u suxx0rz

Well there you have it. A classic two versus two with several fierce battles and an awesome comeback.

I'd like to thank Poor_Lil_Newb (aka Nitros) for the replay.

And a special thanks to Absolute Background Textures Archive for the background.
